Chapter 50: Chapter 50
Joanna's POV
It's been three days since Frank told me all that transpired, and there I was, sulking on my bed with spoonfuls of ice cream plus series after series of wildflower.
If you'd asked me why I was moping then, I'm sure I wouldn't have had an answer because, despite all, I should feel relieved and a bit happy, rather I wasn't.
Instead, I was wallowing in my own sweat and freezing my heart over ice cream. It was at this moment that I heard a knock on my door.
"Who goes?" I yelled.
"Shut the hell up and open this damn pile of wood!" Tenda howled while she pounded incessantly on the door.
Groaning and muttering curse words under my breath, I stalked over and unlocked it.
"Get out," I growled in irritation when I realized she wasn't the only one, as she was surrounded by the bunch of goons I called friends.
"Nope," Tony spoke while the rest just ignored me and stepped into the room with smiling faces that I was sure meant trouble.
"We are here to stay," Harmony pronounced, which gained him a slap on the back of the head from Tenda.
"No idiot, we are heading out," Blake blurted, and he folded his arms, directing a scowl at me, that I ignored.
"I think none of you heard me." I sighed in frustration, not ready for their company at that moment. "Get, out. I need to sleep."
"Are you hibernating? Because you've been doing that for the past three days." Tenda scoffed a grim expression on her face. "No offense babe but you stink."
"I hate you all!" I wailed and hurled myself back on the bed.
"Just leave me be."
"Yeah." Ifeanyi rolled his eyes. "And you think we love you?"
"Shut up! You are making the situation worse!" Tenda clamored and hit him on the arm, the same moment Tony facepalmed and Blake gaped at him in disbelief.
"Hey! Don't shush me." He defended. "She's just annoying me by sitting down there doing nothing."
On hearing that, I flew out of my bed in anger, ready to strangle him with my bare hands, but luckily for him, Tony held me back.
"Dude! Stop infuriating her for Christ's sake, can't you see she's broken and needs care?" Harmony questioned him, furious, to which he sighed and rubbed his forehead.
"I'm sorry Jo," He said with a half-smile. "It's just so annoying seeing you and Frank miserable because of that snake called Amy and I can't do anything about it."
"Well, you are here trying to cheer me up, I guess that's something." I shrugged and forced a smile while I silently willed myself to calm down.
"Ooh, ooh!" Ifeanyi yelled frightening each of us.
"What?" Blake implored, a palm on his chest, in a bid to calm his heartbeat as a result of the stunt Ifeanyi just pulled.
"Didn't you see?" Ifeanyi polled a wide grin on his face.
"See what!" Tenda exclaimed, tired of the game he was playing at.
"You of all people should have seen it, as you're sitting close to her," Ifeanyi moaned, a slightly disappointed look in Tenda's direction.
"For the last time Ifeanyi, see what?" Tony pleaded, about to pounce on him, if he didn't say the reason for his sudden excitement.
"She smiled! I made her smile!" Ifeanyi squealed and bounced on his feet, which resulted in me snorting as I broke out in a chuckle.
"Yeah that's right, and she's laughing too!" Tony called out, a dramatic look at the ceiling. "Oh praise the heavens!"
I shook my head, now laughing at their stupidity. "I love you guys."
"Well, you said you hated us a few minutes ago and now you love us? Make up your mind bestie" Harmony smirked, an amused glint in his eyes.
"Don't make me change my mind," I voiced, a raised eyebrow in his path.
"Now now, the party's over!" Tenda called "Y'all should get out and give the girl some space to undress and take her bath because she actually stinks."
"We heard you loud and clear, no need to be pushy." Ifeanyi frowned as she shooed them out of the room.
"I can also be spanky if you want," She replied with a deadly smile.
"Babe." Tony gave her a look. "You are only allowed to spank one person in this room and that's me!"
"Eeew eew, too much information." I gagged, to which they both laughed.
"Okay playboy, get out," She commanded and nudged him before she banged the door.
"Are you ready?" She queried, swerving to face me, and beamed after she made sure the door was securely locked. "Let us get you glammed up bitch."
Oh No, I thought in fear, as she waddled over to where I sat.
*******
Peering at my reflection in the mirror, I wondered why I was scared at first, hence I could trust Tenda to do her magic, plus FYI I appeared fvcking beautiful.
I was adorned in a rose flowery patterned white thigh-length dress, that hugged my upper part and flared from the waist down. It had short sleeves with a circled neckline and matched well with the diamond-designed earings that echoed whatever color was around it.
Tenda was glancing at me with an expectant smile and asked "You like it?"
"Of course I do." I smiled, "I look stunning."
"I know right?" She grinned.
"I'm the best."
"And now, I take that back," I fake glared.
"Sorry boo," She smirked. "But you can't take it back."
I scoffed and got up to hug her. "Thank you."
"You are welcome," She smiled.
"Now let's go dazzle the guys."
"I know." I giggled as I put on my four inched black ankle boots to finish off the look.
I was so busy admiring my legs when I stood up from the bed, that I didn't realize Tenda had already left and walked downstairs, till I heard her voice shout.
"Behold! My masterpiece," She bellowed, in a proud tone as if she was presenting a trophy. I got an idea to mess with her a bit and didn't descend the stairs like she had predicted me to. Instead, I stood my ground at the door of my room, giggling to myself.
"What? Where and who is your masterpiece?" I overheard Blake ask and I could imagine the frown on his face when he did so.
"Joanna!" She called
"Joooaaannnaaa, what's that?" Ifeanyi doubted, which earned him a slap on the head from who am guessing was Harmony.
"No idiot." Tenda growled, "Joanna, your partner, our friend."
"But I thought I'm her partner," Tony voiced out with a hint of__ was that sadness I sensed?
"Shut up, all of you, just shut up!" Tenda screeched, on the brink of exploding.
I chuckled at their silly banter and lightly ran down the steps before she could come up and catch me just leaning on the stair rail, and then I would be the one to suffer the aftermath of her explosion.
"Where the hell is that little girl I call a best friend," She grumbled and took a step towards me but luckily, I intervened on time before I could get hurt.
Thank you heavens I said in a silent thanks to GOD as He saved me from that, thus I wouldn't want to suffer the effect of her outburst. Heck, no one wants to.
