Chapter 43: Chapter 43
Joanna's POV
I sighed in defeat at her tone of voice and dialed his number.
"Wait, how did my chicken and chips finish so fast?"
"You stress eat." Harmony cackled.
"Shut up you imb__"
"Hello?" His deep voice cut me off.
"Hy?" I said nervously. "How are you?"
"Am good," He replied curtly.
"Okay."
"Put it on speaker." Tenda mouthed.
"Sow how have you been?" I questioned.
"Cool," He replied, in that same curt manner.
"You've been off for a while and you are replying differently, what's going on, because I don't get you anymore."
"Nothing's going on, as I said, am good."
"Alright, if you say so, are you home?"
"Yeah, any problem?"
"How can he be asking her if there's any problem, that dude is up to something and I can tell from a hundred-mile radius that it isn't good," Harmony muttered, to no one in particular.
"Okay, should I come over?" I asked after I gave Harmony a pleading look to shut up.
"Eerrrh."
"Scratch that, am coming over," I spoke, giving no room for argument.
"Okay then," He responded.
"See you, I love---"
<Beep, Beep> The line went dead.
"He hung up," I growled as I felt pissed. "I think am gonna kill him myself."
"Babe," Tenda called. "Breath, breath, calm down." She rubbed my shoulders. "Just take this bottle of water? Your bag and go over right now to settle this."
"Yeah, settle his face." Harmony smirked, to which Tenda kicked him.
I took the water as she had said and grabbed my bag. "Car keys," I voiced out and stretched my palm out to Harmony.
"I'm not letting you ride my baby in this state." He whined.
"Give her the damn keys!" Tenda exclaimed and gave him another kick.
"Yes ma'am." He obeyed and handed me the keys. I took it and immediately ran to the car, heading straight for Frank's home.
"When I arrived, I perched the car close to a big black Mercedez Benz 2019 model that I guessed belonged to his Dad.
In my haste, I didn't notice the pink Lexus 300 in his garage while I locked Harmony's car and trudged angrily to the front door, there I knocked, but got no answer. I knocked again, but still, no one came to get the door.
This warranted me to give it a push and realized it was already opened which was weird as his family never left their front door unlocked.
Something's wrong, I thought as I went for his room. Reaching there I could hear little noises reverberate from inside.
I paused in my attempt to knock when I spotted some weird movements through the slightly ajar door.
I took a deep breath to calm my rage and pushed it hard. It flew upright, startling the two people caught in a bad act.
"Well well, what may I say is going on here," I smirked, though my voice came out unsteady as I unhurriedly circled them like a lion about to pounce on its prey.
"Sweetheart-- it-- it ain't what you think," Frank stuttered.
"The perfect excuse people use when caught," I scoffed. "Now tell me Frank what did I see?"
"I swear it, there's a mix-up somewhere," He voiced out. I ignored him.
"Hello dear," I called when I got hold of the girl's newly braided hair, "Don't you look familiar?"
"The girl at the library, ring a bell?" She sneered in a query.
"Oh, we meet again hoe," I hissed as I pulled on the braids, "What do you think you are doing with my boyfriend."
"Doing what I should have done a long time ago," She spoke and spat at my face.
"Oh yeah." I put on a nasty smile after I had wiped the spit off my cheeks. "Should I do what I should have done a long time ago?"
"No," She begged as I jerked harder on the plaits.
"Sorry? I didn't hear you." I beamed.
"No!" She screamed as the ends of her front hair began snipping due to the recent pressure added. "Just, let me go, I won't do it again I promise."
"Okay." I grinned, satisfied with her answer, before I did as told, "Shoo."
"Bye!" She squealed and ran out the door.
"Baby I can explain, it's not what you think, I'm sorry, please," Frank choked kneeling at my feet.
"Get up Frank." I inhaled.
"Thank you so much baby I lov--" He started but I didn't let him finish as I shut him up with a resounding slap.
"Don't you ever say that when you don't mean it?" I growled and jabbed his shocked, annoying self out of my way as I stormed off.
"And hey," I called back. "Get ready for the beating of your life."
With that said, I slammed the door and presided to the vehicle, in there I dialed Tenda's line.
"Hello," She answered
"You were wrong," I spoke and hung up before I ringed Harmony.
"Hello?"
"You can beat him now."
"Yess!" He exclaimed, enthusiastic.
"But, don't be too harsh on him, I've done enough." I hung up and sighed.
"Well, that went down the drain," I muttered to myself as I dismissed Frank who was crouched at his veranda, and put the key in the ignition reversing out of the compound.
It's amazing and scary how a sweet thing could turn sour in a little while.
That dude needed to learn his lesson.
Frank's POV
The only thing ringing in my head right now is shit, shit!
I can't believe I lost her, No I can't lose her, I have to get her back, after GOD she's my life, I can't let her go so easily.
I knew I shouldn't have done that transaction with Amy knowing how clingy she could be.
Ifeanyi warned me about this but I didn't listen. Shit!
I know how badly Ana needed a new phone which prompted me to have a thing with Àmy, but now my happy life is ruined.
I was happy with the way Ana treated her though, this is a bad time to think about this but damn it was hot seeing her all fiesty, I nearly got a hard-on.
I can't let this end this way, I'm going to fix this, but right now here comes the beating of my life.
"Where the heck is he, how could you break my best friend's heart!" Harmony thunders as he matches over to me.
