Chapter 12: Chapter 12

Joanna's POV

"Well, since it's Friday, who's up for a party?" Tony beamed.

"Me!"

"Yeah!"

"Party!"

"Friday!"

Everyone chorused, excluding me, thus I sat there avoiding eye contact.

"How about you Joanna?" Tony invited with a smile that made my heartbeat increase its rhythm.

"Well," I muttered in an attempt to decline without sounding bad. "Don't get me, wrong people, I love parties, but y'all know I'm lazy, so."

"No homework was given today in class which means you are free," Tenda pleaded through pouty lips.

"And remember you promised," Tony smirked referring to the other day.

"Ugh, curse my promises." I groaned. "Fine! I'll go."

"Woo hoo!" They all clapped, after which the bell sounded letting us know lunch was over.

School went by really quickly after that, and for the first time in my life, I was sad about it since I wasn't ready to party.

Grumbling to myself, I pulled on a black net crop top with high-waist native trousers (colorful African made material tailored into a trouser).

I pondered if I should go with my black wedge or black flat sandals. I wasn't against heels or wedges but I was sort of tall for a girl.

It still amazed me that I was ahead taller than Ifeanyi. This was why sometimes I have trouble choosing if I should go out in heels or not.

A horn blared which indicated Tony's arrival.

"Bye, mom! Bye, dad!" I shouted as I raced down the stairs.

Hurriedly I strapped on my black wedge that I picked in a haste. I swung the handbag with phone and keys already in it over my shoulder and presided to the door.

Closing it behind me, I rushed out, after which I quickly climbed into Tony's car without looking which had me wishing I did because as I turned to say hi, my face bumped into his with our lips nearly touching.

"Sorry," I murmured, embarrassed, and flustered all at once.

"It's ok, you look hot," He commented, giving me that intense look that could make a girl's heart melt.

"Thank you." I blushed.

"You are welcome," he winked. In an instant, we were speeding off in the direction of the supposed party. This left me alone with my thoughts wandering around in my head.

I mulled over the way my heart picked up speed when he smiled or stared at me. The way I felt and flushed whenever he said nice things could only mean one thing and that was the fact that I was having a crush on Tony freaking Ryan.

*Oh GOD save me!* I thought groaning internally.

*But this can't be love, or could it?* I wondered.

I concluded it was just a crush, though I had a hunch Tenda was probably in love with him. I also sensed he was slightly into her but I couldn't be so sure hence he acted the same way towards me.

*Why Lord! Why does it have to happen that when I finally get a crush it has to be a freaking love triangl--

"We are here," Tony spoke, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I gazed around and saw what looked exactly like any high school party as I noticed some teenagers whom I couldn't recognize from such a distance hanging around with red cups, some smoking, others just drinking.

A few of them were leaning on the wall of the two-storied cherry red building which I was sure was where the party was taking place because of the loud noise reverberating from it.

I discovered our friends hanging around too after I stepped out. I waved to gain their attention as Tony locked the car.

"Damn babe you look hot!" Tenda spoke as she caught sight of my outfit before she yanked me in for a hug.

"But you look stunning," I said, taking in her funnel hand blouse, a tight-fitting skirt, and black stiletto's.

"Wow bitch, you on fire, I might have to fuck you right here, right now," Tony blurted as he too took in her outfit, practically drooling and granting her the fuck me eyes that sent a light pain through my chest which I covered with a chuckle and an eye-roll.

"Looking good bestfriend." Harmony whistled and offered me a kiss on the cheek.

"I could probably do you right now," Ifeanyi spoke, earning him a shut up and a smack on the head from Blake.

"I was joking!" He whined with a pout.

"I know," I gleamed and ruffled his hair at the exact moment Blake scoffed.

"Not the hair!" Ifeanyi shrieked and smacked my hand away after which he patted it to make sure it was still intact.

"I just locked the strands an hour ago meaning it's still fresh and hasn't dried completely so let it be." He sobbed.

"Shut up y'all let's all go in and have fun, not standing outside here like a bunch of losers," Blake howled basically shoving us into the crowded building.

When we got in, Ifeanyi and Harmony left us muttering something about getting laid while Tenda, Blake, Tony, and I headed to the bar to grab some drinks and fried meat.

I snatched two bottles of beer from the open cooler and signaled to someone to get me the saucy well-grilled beef.

I savored the sweet taste of the well-fried seasoned meat before downing the bottles of beer into my system.

Don't misunderstand me though, I wasn't a drunk, I just liked to unwind and have some fun. It was a party so I was entitled to enjoy myself a little.

"Woah, easy there tiger," Blake mumbled smiling at me.

"I came to have fun and fun I will have," I belched, feeling the drink start to work as I was almost done with one bottle.
