Chapter 11: Chapter 11
Joanna's POV
"Thank GOD it's Friday!" Harmony yelled in a sing-song voice, that shattered my earbuds.
"Dude! you're destroying my hearing capacity." I scowled while I rubbed at them in a bid to reduce the impact of his horrible tone.
"What's with you bitch?" He questioned. "Why are you acting all grumpy this early morning, mother nature still disturbing you?"
"Nah." I shook my head in reply. "It's just lack of sleep."
"Why, did you have hot wild sex last night?" He wiggled his eyebrows.
"I don't even know the reason." I shrugged. "And eeew, who the hell on GOD's green earth has sex during their monthly flow."
"Well, since you denied it, place a smile on that pretty ass face of yours and dance with me," He spoke before he swayed his hips from left to right.
I chuckled at his silly ways and joined him in singing. "Thank GOD it's Friday, yeah yeah, it's Friday yeah yeah."
Smiling like goats and swaying our hips while we walked was so crazy that it began to draw attention to us.
Tenda who immediately sighted us ran in our direction and engaged in the dancing and singing.
"Hey, guys what's cooking?" She queried as she swiveled her waist, moving her body to the beat Harmony was making with his lips.
"TGIF!" Harmony yelled. He did a classic twirl that gathered more attention from our fellow students who were hanging around in the hallway.
"Yo babes, it's Friday!" I exclaimed, feeling a bit better already.
"Why are you three swaying your hips and smiling like goats set on fire?" Tony's deep voice asked as he walked up to us doing the deed.
"It's Friday vibes baby!" Tenda winked at him before swinging her hips in a seductive fashion that had him drooling.
"Get out of my way you goof," Ifeanyi uttered, as he pushed Tony out of the way and enrolled in our prancing madness.
"Idiots," Blake laughed, shaking his head before he then agreed to join us in singing.
"Come on dance with us," I urged Tony and Blake who were standing there staring at us like piles of bricks.
"I'm singing, I think that's enough," Blake beamed.
"I ain't doing any of that shit," Tony let out, motioning to Tenda, Harmony, and Ifeanyi who were really into it as they kept singing and dancing to the beat Harmony was producing.
"But for you, I will sing." He sighed and proceeded to hum the tune. "Thank GOD it's Friday!"
Unfortunately for us, our little party was cut short by the sound of the bell as it rang, signaling the start of the day's activities.
"Why!" Harmony cried dramatically, peering at the ceiling. I scoffed at this and grabbed his arm, waved at the others, and hauled him to class.
Stepping into the classroom we found two empty seats which were fortunate hence it was at the back of the room.
Lessons started immediately we got settled and before I knew it, it was time to pass our homework.
"Shit." I groaned and facepalmed, as I discovered mine wasn't completed.
"What?" Harmony whispered in my direction.
"I didn't complete my homework," I confided.
"What?" He doubted offering me a shocked look.
"I said_ I_ didn't_ complete_ my_ homework!" I whisper yelled, emphasizing each word.
"I heard that!" He hissed, and lent me a glare.
"Then what?" I inquired, a frown taking shape on my face as I got slightly irritated.
"I meant what as in you never fail to complete your homework," He asserted using air quotes.
"Well, there's a first time for everything." I shrugged in return.
"Okay, if you say so, but I hope you are ready, because here comes the roaring lion," He told, seeing as the teacher was coming towards us.
"Alex!" She called out, anger eminent in her voice after she had glimpsed through my homework. "Why is yours not completed?"
"I slept off," I responded, not in the mood to beg or find some dumb excuse.
"You had three_ whole_ days to do it and your excuse is you slept off?" She quizzed, bestowing on me a hard look, smoke coming out of her ears.
"I've told you exactly what happened, or do you want me to lie?" I smirked, to which she started muttering and growling as she was about to explode, thankfully, the bell rang.
Grinning at her red face, I shuffled out of the classroom, Harmony by my side.
I survived my other lessons with the thought of TGIF at the back of my mind, when it was time for lunch, I headed to the cafeteria.
I then purchased shawarma and a bottle of coke after which I spotted my friends at our usual table already chatting away.
"Hy folks," I called in greeting and sat down at the empty seat beside Harmony.
"I was waiting for you," Harmony blurted after I sat down, an excited look in his eyes.
"Why?" I polled confused, as I chewed on my food.
"Because." He sighed, "I wanted you to be here before I said this."
"Say what?" Ifeanyi implored, bouncing in his seat, this had Blake rolling his eyes.
Jo here," Harmony announced taking a dramatic pause as he pointed at me. "Didn't complete her homework for the first time since I know her and not just any homework, it was chemistry."
"What the--
"Holy shit!"
"Oh my GOD."
"Wow, I wasn't expecting that."
They all blurted at the same time with dumbstruck faces except Harmony who was smiling as if he won a Porsche.
"Oh come on!" I chuckled. "You guys don't always complete yours, some of you don't even do them like Tony and Blake here so what's the big deal."
"Yeah we know that, but this is about you Jo, you of all people!" Tenda spoke, surprised. "Mehn I can't believe this."
"Well, like I told Harmony earlier, there's always a first time for everything." I retorted .
That's what she said," Harmony spoke in a high pitched voice.
"Asshole," I muttered in a glare.
"You love me." He winked
"Unfortunately," I replied a small smile gracing my lips.
Note: The original chapter was too long for the chapter word count, so I split it into three parts. Just so you know
