Chapter 420: Chapter 420
Adrian had never heard her refer to him like that in front of others before. He turned his head to look at her, his gaze deep.
Summer Sutton, in a joyful mood, went downstairs, grabbed his hand, and pulled him up the stairs. "It’s not early anymore; let’s rest! Grandma should go to bed early too!"
Adrian quietly followed behind her, the corners of his lips slightly curved upwards.
Had she just publicly acknowledged their relationship?
It was indeed late, well into the night. After returning to their room, Summer dried her hair and squeezed with Adrian into a small bed, holding each other as they slept through the night.
The mornings on the island held a beauty that the city did not possess—quiet, serene, with the only sounds being birds chirping and the sea gently lapping.
With the windows open, a view of the azure sea lay outside. Listening to the rustling waves brightened the mood for the whole day. Follow current ɴᴏᴠᴇʟs on 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭•𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘦•𝘯𝘦𝘵
Adrian felt that the guesthouse they were staying at was inconvenient, and the first thing he wanted to do upon waking was to change rooms, but Summer thought it was too much trouble since they had already booked it.
Adrian, helpless, had to give up.
Though it was August, because of the abundance of trees on the island where Summer and Adrian were staying, it wasn’t too hot.
After breakfast, Summer had the sudden impulse to go for a bicycle ride around the island.
Sharing a bicycle, Adrian was responsible for pedaling while Summer sat behind him, her arms wrapped around his waist, with a slight upward curve at the corners of her lips the whole time.
In the summer on the island, frangipani flowers bloomed everywhere, and the scent lingered wherever they went.
A summer so comfortable, it made one want to sleep.
Summer closed her eyes comfortably, her head gently leaning against Adrian’s back.
Adrian was a bit stunned, turned his head to gaze at her for a moment, and let his lips lift slightly.
The two rode their bike around the island for the entire morning. At noon, instead of returning to the inn, they found a random restaurant to have lunch. When they felt like resting, they found a bench on the island, and Summer leaned against Adrian, taking a nap.
Basking in not-too-intense sunlight and listening to the sound of waves lapping against the shore, life on the island became Summer’s tranquil and peaceful times.
Summer no longer wanted to think about the future.
For now, such sweetness, she and Adrian could live it day by day...
The two stayed on the island for five days before returning to the city.
In the days following their return, even though Adrian was busy with the founding of the new company every day, he clearly finished work earlier than before.
He seemed to cherish the time spent with Summer now, dedicating only eight hours of the twenty-four hour day to work, and giving the rest of his time entirely to Summer.
Today, he returned even earlier. After finalizing the location for the new company, he drove to the set where Summer was working.
Upon arrival, Summer was rehearsing lines with Ariella Sawyer.
From afar, she caught a glimpse of him standing there, and smiled at him through the crowd.
Adrian didn’t interrupt. He quietly stood by the side, waiting.
Ariella played the proud second female lead in the drama, and Summer was rehearsing a scene with her and the female lead.
Summer’s skill in delivering lines had always been outstanding. It was innate, never trained, but she had a natural talent for acting.
Even someone like Adrian, who had no interest in acting, felt inexplicably comfortable listening to her clear, flowing voice.
