Chapter 54: Chapter 54

Enver and I were still busy here at the office. We still haven’t finished some documents that we need for the cars that will be delivered to the Raiden Shop.

But I can’t help but feel nervous throughout the day. Well, this is the day when I am going to introduce him to Millie.

My hands are full of sweat and my heart is pounding like crazy because of excitement and fear of what might be his reaction.

Though, I already expected that he would get mad at me.

I took five years away from them so I can’t really blame him. I just wanted to make our family whole so I am ready to face his wrath and do what makes him feel better after this.

But to be honest, I am silently praying that he understands why I did that so that we don’t ruin Millie’s party.

I just want us to enjoy the whole day.

I went out of the office for a while to buy some drinks for the both of us and I sighed before getting out of the elevator when I got back.

And before I could reach Enver’s office, I heard some people arguing inside.

I immediately put our drinks on my table and opened the door. And I saw two people standing in front of Enver’s table. And even though I still haven’t seen their faces, I am sure that I know these people.

I wore my poker face when they turned their heads to me.

“W-what the hell are you doing in my son’s company?” Don Emil Adrius, Enver’s father, said. Well, I can’t blame him for having this reaction since only a few people know our current situation.

It has been a while since I last saw him and I can see that he really aged a lot.

He got wrinkled and his body lost a lot of weight. A lot of people admired him before for having a muscular and healthy body but all of that faded a long time ago.

Maybe because of the stress because they can’t convince Enver to go back to them.

“I work here.” I went inside and stood beside Enver. “And I am my husband’s secretary.”

His eyes widened. “What husband are you talking about?” He pointed at me. “You already filed a divorce!”

I smirked. “Sad to say, Don Emil, but the divorce case was interrupted before it could even file,” I said. “The papers went missing and Enver hasn’t signed those.”

He looked at Enver. “Are you fucking kidding me, Enver? Until now, you are still head-over-heels to that woman? She already left you five years ago, right? Are you so crazy over her that you just forgave her and accepted her again in your life?”

I was about to say something but Enver held my hand to stop me. I looked at him and I saw him shake his head as if he was saying that he will take care of this.

I sighed and nodded. If this is what he wants, I will let him.

“What did you even see that woman?” He pointed at me again. “You have been married for a long time yet she couldn’t give you a child. A child that Vivien can give to you.”

I turned my eyes to the woman beside Don Emil. And I recognized that she is the woman in the pictures and videos that I saw on Enver's phone before.

To be honest, I wanted to pull that bitch’s hair and slap her face but I chose not to do so and calm myself. Dealing with this situation using violence will not do anything good.

“This woman conceived your child, Enver!” the old man added. “You got her pregnant so you should take responsibility for her and your child. And divorce that woman!”

I was about to let go of Enver’s hand but he held my hand tight.

“And how can be sure that I am the father of that child?” Enver said. “Are you sure that I got her pregnant on the night when she drugged and raped me while I was unconscious?”

“What the hell are you trying to say?” that woman exclaimed. “That I let a man fuck me just to have kids?”

Enver laughed. “Is that what you have in mind?”

“How dare you!” She was about to attack Enver but Don Emil immediately stopped her. “I only had sex with you by the time I got pregnant so don’t you fucking accuse me of something I will never do!”

“And how can I stop thinking that way about you?” Enver asked. “You forced what happened to the both of us, right? You basically raped me, you damn bitch!”

I immediately tightened my grip on Enver’s hand when he was about to come near that bitch. He is mad and I am afraid that he might really hurt that bitch.

Well, I also wanted to slap her face and wipe it on the floor.

We can’t let our emotions overcome us in this situation.

Enver took a deep breath to calm himself. After that, he took something in his drawer and threw it in front of them.

His father frowned as he looked at that.

“I went to see the kid,” Enver said. “And I took a sample of his hair to do a DNA test. That is the result.”

“What did you do?” Vivien's face became pale. She took the envelope and slowly took out the document. “N…no! This is not true! You forged this result!” She was about to rip the paper but Don Emil immediately took the paper from her.

“What the hell is this, Vivien?” Don Emil was shocked as he stared at the paper. “You fooled me?”

“No!” Vivien stepped back when the old man glared at her. “I… he just forged it! He cheated the result—” She was stunned after turning her eyes on Enver who just threw a lot of pictures on his table. It was her, together with different men in different hotels around the area.

Those pictures don't say that she is only friends with those guys. It is clearly said that her relationship with those men is more than friends because most of it was taken while she was kissing them and clearly flirting with them.

“Do you really want that kind of woman in our family?” Enver asked his father. “She didn’t know how to hide her dirtiness and she is even proud to show that those men bedded her in a different hotel.”

I can see how Don Emil was confused about what he was seeing right now. He got fooled by the woman he chose to be part of his family. He even framed his son just to make sure of her place in his family.

He trusted him too much but he looked like a fool because she betrayed him.

Vivien couldn’t even defend herself because there was solid evidence in front of them. She couldn’t say anything and just stared at the old man, hoping he would still choose her.

And from what I know about this old man, even though he got betrayed by the woman he trusted, he will not turn his back on her.

So, I was not shocked when he crumpled the papers and pictures in front of him and looked straight into Enver’s eyes. “She is still the only heiress of Sarmiento Network. She is still better than that woman who can’t even conceive a child.” He shot a dagger glare at me. “Let go of my son so he could marry Vivien.”

Yeah, having a grandchild is not the only reason why he liked Vivien in his family. Though that was his first reason, Vivien is also the only daughter of a large media network in our country.

He doesn’t care about whatever Vivien did. She just wanted to use her to get that network because it will help his company more.

Enver was about to say something but I let out a harsh breath that made him look at me with confused eyes.

“Excuse me, Don Emil.” I gave back the same intense glare he was giving me that made him step back a few times. Well, he has already reached the last inch of my patience so I don’t think I can still be nice to him. “Your insult is not bearable anymore so please excuse me if I lost my respect for you. And why do you even insist that I can’t conceive a child?”

“B-because that is the truth!” he insisted. “You have been married to my son for five years before you left him, right?”

I sighed again. “Let me remind you that after our wedding you did everything you can to make sure that we will not have enough time for each other. You kept sending him to your branch company out of town and made sure that he would only go home with me at least once a month.” I stepped forward but he immediately took a step backwards. “Do you really think we will be able to conceive a child after all of that?”

“Oh, let’s say I did all of that and it is really my fault why you couldn’t spend time working on your child,” he said. “But he stayed with you for almost six months after he decided to leave the company. And you still couldn’t get pregnant!”

“Yes, you let him go home to me but you gave him a lot of problems!” I firmly said.

I want to shove everything in his face. Tell him that everything that happened was his fault. Screamed at him for making our lives hard just because he couldn’t accept me as his son’s wife.

But I tried so hard to keep all of that inside me. He is still my husband’s father and I shouldn’t lose respect for him no matter what he did to us.

“You sent those files and stressed him out,” I said. “And that made him rely on drinking alcohol every night just to forget the problem that you are giving him. So, do you really think we can give you the grandchild that you longed for?”

He didn’t say anything. He just glared at me and I think he will never stop putting the blame on me to make sure that Enver will leave me and marry the woman he chose for his son.

“And for your information…” I took out my wallet and opened it. I took out a photo and put it on the table. “I have a daughter and this time, I can assure you that it is Enver’s child.”

Their eyes widened.

Enver couldn’t move after hearing what I just said.

Well, this is not what I planned to tell him about Millie. But I don’t have any choice because I know that this is the only thing that will stop all of this nonsense.

“Y-you have a daughter?” Don Emil slowly took the photo and stared at it. “She… she has Enver’s eyes and nose.”

I took out another photo and handed it to Enver. I mouthed sorry to him after he took it in my hand and looked at it.

“W-what was her name?” the old man asked. And I can see that I hit the right button because he finally calmed down.

He was so furious earlier and mad but as soon as he looked at Millie’s picture, it changed into happiness and longing for his grandchild/

“You can’t be serious!” Vivien exclaimed. “Are you going to believe that woman?” She was about to get Milie’s picture but Don Emil shoved her hand away, which made her fall to the floor. “Tito!”

“Shut up, Vivien!” Don Emil shouted at her and showed her the photo. “This. This is Enver’s child! This is their daughter! My real grandchild!” He turned to me again and he looked gentle in front of me. “Can… can I see her?”

I sighed. “Sorry. Telling you about her is one thing but letting you see her?” I smirked. “I am sorry, Don Emil, but I will not let that happen. Millie is my daughter and I won’t let you take her away from me.”

He was stunned. “But… she is my granddaughter.”

“Yes! I cannot change that,” I said. “But I won’t let you meet her because I know that you will do everything to control her life. And I won’t let that happen. As long as I live.”

I choose to remain hard. Even though I can see that he is longing for his granddaughter, I will not let them see my daughter.

I need to change their perspective on something about life before letting them see my Millie. Because I will not let my daughter see how they control the people the way they want.

I want my daughter to grow up as a good woman, who will not use her influence and power to step on people below her. Instead, she will use it to help others.

“Please leave, Dad,” Enver calmly said. He put the picture on the table and looked at his father. “All of you are not welcome in my daughter’s life. As long as you don’t learn how to respect her mother.”

“W-what?”

The security guards arrived and pulled them out of the office.

Don Emil tried to resist but he couldn’t do anything because a lot of guards are pulling him. Until they went inside the elevator.

That is when I started to feel nervous and slowly turned my eyes to Enver.

He was staring at me but I couldn’t even see any emotion in his eyes.

“Ahm…” I scratched my forehead. “What do you want to do first? Hear my explanation or meet our daughter?”
