Chapter 52: Chapter 52
Chapter 52
Enver parked his car just outside the gate of my apartment. I roamed my eyes around and felt relieved when I saw Millie was not outside.
I am going to introduce him to our daughter but I want to make it right. I want to make sure that everything will be okay at the time they meet each other.
Well, it is not like I am ruining Enver in my daughter’s mind. But I always make sure to tell her that even if we let her father be involved in our lives, we will never be a whole family again.
That is what I expect because I engrave in my mind that he cheated on me and not that he was just framed by his father and the woman who was crazy over him.
I want to fix that before introducing them to each other.
“So, this is where you hide from me,” Enver said after we got out of his car. He roamed his eyes around and shook his head as she looked at me. “Even though you were just in the city where I built Raiden, you still manage to make sure that I won’t reach you, huh.”
“I know you too well and I am too desperate because I was hurt,” I said. “I know that you are too busy to even go to this kind of place. And these kinds of neighborhoods never dig up in anyone’s past so I manage to start a new life here.”
“Where is your apartment?” He was looking at the building in front of us/ “Where did you spend those five years of your life here?”
I pointed at the door on the second floor. “That door is on the east side of the apartment.”
He nodded. “Can I come in?”
I immediately looked at him and shook my head. “Not now, Enver!” I said. “And don’t you dare come here without telling me, okay? I will really get mad!”
“But—“
“I told you. Next weekend, okay?” I insisted. “You will come here on that day. I need to finish everything here.”
He scratched his head. “Fine. I will wait.”
“Good.” I came to him and kissed his lips. “Now, go. Finish your work, okay?”
“Okay.” He hugged me tight. “I can’t wait to live with you again under the same roof. And take care of you again and our marriage.”
“It will happen soon,” I responded. “Just give me a little more time to prepare everything.” I let go of our hug and held his face. “This weekend. I promise you, everything will be ready.”
He breathed deeply and smiled. “I will wait.”
“Go to your office so you can finish what you need to do there.” I slightly pushed him to his car. “Call me when you are done. I might go there and bring you some food.”
His face lightened up. “Really?”
“Yes.”
“Okay.” He kissed me on the lips and got in his car. “I will look forward to your food.”
I just waved my hand as he drove his car away. And when I couldn't see his car, I went inside my apartment.
Millie just got out of the bathroom when I opened the door of my apartment. And Paige is following her.
“Mommy!” She happily jumped on me. I caught her and lifted her. “I missed you.” She kissed my whole face.
“Good morning, Milan,” Paige greeted me with a smile.
“Good morning,” I greeted back. “Sorry for the late notice last night, huh.”
“No worries,” she said. “I don’t have classes today so I am free to babysit Millie last night while you and Mikea were not here.” She took some papers from the table and gave them to me. “All of it arrived earlier. I think you need to take care of it today for Millie’s party this coming Saturday.”
“I am going to have a party, Mommy?” Millie was shocked to hear that news. Well, I still haven’t told her that since I was still busy with things at Raiden.
“Yes, baby.” It is not a surprise because I want her to be the one who chooses everything on her birthday. “Your special day is too precious so we need to celebrate it with everyone, right?”
“Then, I am going to invite all of my friends.” I took her down and she jumped happily. “And your friends, and everyone!”
“WE will invite everyone.” I looked at Paige. “You can go home, Paige. I will take care of Millie. Thank you so much.”
“Okay.” She took her things, bid her goodbye to Millie, and got out of my apartment.
I took Millie inside our room and started putting on her clothes. I will take her to my appointment today since it is all about her birthday party.
“So, I already called everyone who will take care of the party this coming Sunday,” I said. “And we are going to the place of the one who will cook the food that we are going to serve.”
“Are we going to do a taste test?” she asked. “I want to do a taste test!”
“Yes, we are going to do that.” I pulled up the zipper of her dress and made her face me. “But I have something to tell you first.”
Curiosity was all over her face. “What is it, Mommy?”
“Daddy is going to your party.”
She was stunned and stared at me. As if she was waiting for me to take back what I just said but after a while, her eyes widened. “R-really?”
I nodded. I took her and sat her in my lap. “Your father and I talked a lot last night. That is why I didn’t get home. And we clear things out with each other.” To be honest, I am not really sure if she understands what I am saying but she is smart and I guess she can get a gist of it. “You are going to meet your father.”
Happiness filled her face. “T-thank you!” She hugged me tight. “Thank you, Mommy!”
“No, baby.” I caressed her hair. “It was me who should be thanking you because you choose to understand me even though I know that you really want to meet and be with your father since then.”
She let go of the hug and looked at me. “Does it mean, Daddy will not take me away from you? Will we still be together even though I met my daddy?”
I nodded and smiled. “Aside from that…” I put her down. “Mommy will only fix everything here and our business, then we are going to live with your dad.”
“Yey!” She jumped with so much joy. “I am going to be with my mommy and daddy! I can’t wait for that.”
“Calm down, Millie.” I turned her back to me and started combing her hair. “Behave and wait a little longer, okay?”
“Aye! Aye!”
Well, I can’t wait for that. I am still nervous about their first meeting but I can’t deny that I am also excited. I don’t want to make this long anymore.
Now that Enver and I were okay, I wanted to fix our family. I don’t want to hide anything about what happened in my life for the past five years.
Especially when I know that it will make them both happy.

“I am tired,” Millie said as we entered our apartment.
Her energy earlier was immediately drained right after we finished our taste test session at the catering service I chose for her party.
So, I had to take her home immediately rather than going to the place of people who will provide the design and program to the party.
I took her to our bed and let her sleep. After tucking her in, I get out of the room and the front door opened showing me the face of my friends.
“Hey!” Ferry pointed at me. “You need to tell us everything!”
I closed the door in our room because their voices were too loud. I don’t want them to wake my daughter up.
“Tell us everything,” Castiel repeated. She pulled me and we sat on the sofa. “What happened last night? How did the two of you get a chance to talk?”
I sighed.
I know that they will not stop bugging me so I started telling them what happened last night and all the things that we talked about.
Well, aside from our lovemaking. That was a private topic even though they are my best friends.
“Looks like that bastard managed to get the chance,” Castiel said while she was laughing. “I thought he would take that chance to slip again to corner you and make you listen to him.”
I frowned and realized something after hearing those remarks. “So, you knew everything?” I raised my eyebrows on them and they immediately averted their eyes. “You were aware that he didn’t really cheat on me. You knew that he was just framed by her father and that crazy woman, right?”
“Ahm…” Ferry scratched her head. “I know a little bit.”
“Is that the reason why you didn’t file my divorce?”
She looked at me again. “No! I did file it. But just like what I told you, someone took your files and it is the reason why it doesn’t reach the court.” She pointed at Castiel. “And she was the one who took those files.”
Castiel was shocked by that. Well, I guess she didn’t expect that Ferry would tell me what she did. “Ferry!”
“Yes, you did have a good intention for our friend but you should have told me everything before making that kind of move,” Ferry exclaimed at her. “So it was not me who got cornered in this situation.”
“I just don’t like them to get separated!” Castiel started to cry. “We both know that they loved each other. Milan was just hurt that is why she chose to leave Enver but she is still in love with him. And I can see that Enver already regrets what happened and he is still madly in love with our best friend.”
“I know,” Ferry said. “I also don’t want them to break up, especially after we learned about Millie. But it was Milan’s wish. I am only respecting what she wanted to—“
I pulled them towards me and hugged them. “Thank you!”
I am so fortunate because these two are my friends. They never neglected me even though I couldn’t do much for them. And they are still supporting and taking care of me even though I was too focused on my problem.
“Thank you for being my best friend.”
“S-stop it, Milan.” Ferry’s voice cracked and I am sure that she was starting to cry. “We… we are just here to know what happened last night. Don’t… make it into such a drama.”
“I am really glad that you are my best friend.”
I might not be able to show it to them because I am too busy with my life, I am really glad because they are my friends. And I would do everything for us to stay together for the rest of our lives.
I should also need to make up for them. To make them know that I always appreciate whatever they did for me. I want them to always know how much I love them.
“You are really the best!”
