Chapter 44: Chapter 44

I was at the Raiden shop early in the morning. Well, I didn’t call Karyu yesterday and since I didn’t take the deal that he is offering in exchange to stop messing with Raiden, I am assuming that he will contact our clients to make them back out.

And I am here to see if he is really successful in scaring our customers.

To be honest, I am really nervous right now because I was thinking that the client that we are waiting for will not continue their process of availing the Anox cars.

I know that the last client that we need has been secured by Enver yesterday. But if Karyu is really convinced of taking revenge against Enver, I am sure he will not stop until his plan becomes successful.

“They are here!” Hanna, one of the sales associates said. “And I am not sure if they are happy right now.”

And I was feeling more nervous after hearing that.

I am not far from them and I don’t plan to get involved in the conversation. I was only here to personally know what is the result of my decision yesterday.

“You shouldn’t be here…”

I stood up straight after hearing Enver’s voice behind me. I immediately turned to him and saw that he was smiling as if he was amused that I was startled because of his sudden appearance.

“I already told you that the deal is secured,” he said and came to me. “After I handled the situation regarding Art, I immediately went to Anox and passed all the data and reports that they needed for the deal we had to them.”

“Yeah, I know,” I said. “Adze called me late last night. He mentioned to me that he is drafting the contract for the permanent partnership between Anox and Raiden.”

“He told you that but you are still nervous?”

I nodded. “That man is too angry with you to let his plan fail,” I said. “I met him face to face. I know that he will do everything to make sure that you will suffer just like what he experienced so we can’t really be lowering our guard.”

I know that Karyu Flynn is not an ordinary man. He has this vibe that he belongs to a dangerous circle and that made me too cautious around him.

“Anyway…” I looked at the clients who just got inside the shop. “I just want to make sure that is why I am here. We don’t even know where Karyu Flyyn is now.”

I heard him sigh and after that, he stood beside me. “Then, let’s wait for what they are going to say.”

We are not far from the counter where the clients went. So we can hear their conversation without interrupting them.

“Good morning.” Hanna started assisting one of them. “How may I help you?”

“Ahm.” The man cleared his throat. “I just received a bunch of texts and calls yesterday from an unknown man. And it says that I might face trouble if I purchase a high-end Anox car in this shop.” He showed his phone to Hanna.

From what I remembered, this man is named Alex Custodio, a boutique manager at the nearest mall here. He applied for the installment method that we had so he could acquire an Anox car. And he is just waiting for his approval.

Hanna nodded as she saw what was on the phone’s screen. “We have been receiving a lot of incidents like that these past few days/ But we have already handled the situation so I hope that it will not scare you into purchasing a car with us.”

“Hell no!” the client said. “I am not backing out from my application.”

“Eh?”

“I have been dreaming of owning my own Anox car so why should I let myself get scared over something like this,” he said. “I only came here so you guys could deal with this bastard. He was just bothering me. And I was thinking of informing you for the reason that he might also contact your other clients.”

And with that, I was finally relieved.

Yes, we already got the eight clients that we need to secure a partnership with Anox but the real challenge is after that. We still need clients that will keep buying from us so that Anox will not think that they are only wasting their time on us. We can’t neglect other customers who want to avail of an Anox car using our installment method.

And we got clients that didn't care about the man that tried to scare him.

Well, I guess people don't really listen to others who just text or call them.

“So, don’t you think this is the time for you to relax?” Enver said. “None of them are backing out even though they received texts and calls from Karyu.”

Receiving texts and calls from someone and being convinced by one of Raiden’s employees must be the reason why our other clients choose to back out.

Well, who would not take the word of someone who is part of the company that tried to purchase a high-value product? I guess, I can’t really blame them for that.

“Art’s word holds a lot of value since he is part of Raiden that is why it was easy for them to convince the clients to back out,” Enver said. “But now that he is out of the picture and Karyu is all alone, I don’t think he can do much damage to us. So, please stop worrying.”

I shook my head. “As long as he is free, he might still do something—” I was interrupted when the door of the shop opened violently. I turned my eyes there and saw a familiar man that I never expected to go there.

He was being followed by a lot of bodyguards and the two of them are holding the man that Enver and I were talking about earlier.

“What the hell is he doing here?” Enver said while staring at that man. “Is he out of his mind?” He was about to go but I ran towards there first. “Milan!”

I didn’t pay attention to him but I know that he also followed me until we finally got in front of the man that had just arrived.

“And look who is here.” I smiled as I greeted him but like before, he never really showed any emotion in his face that he always does whenever we face each other. “Please drop the act, Creister Jyn. You know that your poker face will not fool me.” I was about to reach his cheeks but he immediately held my hand.

“Not here, Milan,” he whispered.

And that is when I noticed that his bodyguard got tense and it looked like they wanted to attack me if I did something to their boss. So, I immediately stepped back and just smiled. “You are already on another level, huh.”

Creister Jyn is Enver’s cousin on his mother’s side. But they rarely see each other. He is aware of how Enver and his siblings let their father control their lives and he didn’t want to witness that so he chose to go away from them because he was thinking that he might do something bad that might ruin his relationship with his cousin.

And because of that, we became close. Well, not close enough but he accepted me as Enver’s wife without thinking about my status. He is also one of the people that helped me when I was still hiding from Enver.

“Anyway…” He pointed at Karyu, who was being held by his bodyguards. “Lainz told me about this man and he said that I should take this one with me instead of taking him to the police precinct.”

I frowned. “And why is that?”

“He is connected to my group,” he said. “So, can you please convince the man behind you to give me this favor and let this man be taken by my group?”

I turned my head to Enver and I saw that he was glaring at his cousin.

“You are going to save that man who was the mastermind of sabotaging my company but the man he used against me is going to face all of their sins that they committed together?” Enver said. “Is that what you are planning to do?”

I turned again at Creister.

Enver has a point. If we let him take Karyu, Art will be the only one who faces all the cases that Raiden filed against both of them even though he was only doing what Karyu said to pay for his debt.

Creister sighed. “That is the reason why I am here, cousin,” he said. “I will pay for the damage that they have done to you and your company. Just drop the cases and I will assure you, they will not do anything against you anymore.”

“Just who the hell is he, Creis?” I asked. “Are they that important for you to personally go here and ask this favor to your least favorite cousin?”

He looked at Karyu. “He is the husband of my precious subordinate.”

And that is when Karyu’s eyes widened as if he didn’t expect what he just heard. “She… she is alive?”

Creister nodded and smiled. “Alive and well. So, you don’t really have any reason to get revenge on this man.” He turned back his eyes on us. “So?” Will you give this favor to me?”

I know this man. If he promises something, he will do everything in his power to fulfill it. So, even if we let Karyu and Art go, they will never do anything against Raiden. Ever.

“Okay,” I answered.

“W-what?” Enver exclaimed. “Milan! That man tried to take you away from me! You can’t just let him go.”

I looked at him. “He didn’t succeed on that,” I said. “I am still here and I choose to stay so please, let’s just let it slide.” I turned my eyes back on Creister. “I will hold your word, Jyn. You will be responsible if they try to do anything bad against Enver and Raiden, okay?”

He smiled and nodded. “I can promise you that, Milan.” He offered his hand to me. “Then, it is nice doing business with you.”

I took his hand and shook it. And right after I let it go, he bid his goodbye and left the Raiden shop.

“Stop sulking there, Enver,” I said as I noticed that he was still frowning even though Creister and his bodyguards were all gone. “It is better to finish this issue about Karyu and Art so please call your lawyer so they can start the process of dropping the case.”

“Milan…”

“I already told you, we have so much to do and that is what our attention should be focused on, okay?” I said. “Called them. Then we will plan our celebration for securing the deal with Anox.”

He stared at me for a while but in the end, he just let out a sigh and took his phone out. “Fine. You win this time.”
