Chapter 30: Chapter 30

The whole event finally ended.

And when all of the visitors were gone, Enver said that we will have an after-party for all the employees of Raiden. To appreciate all their non-stop effort for the whole week and the celebration of the success of our launch.

Since I know am aware of this plan, I already reserved the nearest bar in the venue. I told them to go there and just say my name to the bar owner who I am sure is waiting for us.

“You are a hell of a secretary,” Lucien said when he finally entered the bar. “As far as I know, this after-party is Enver’s surprise for the employees yet you manage to reserve this bar just for us ahead of time.”

I smiled. “Let’s just say, I know how a boss like Enver thinks.” I slightly pushed him so he will get inside the bar since I still needs to stay here at the entrance of the bar together with the bouncer. I just need to secure that only Raiden employees will enter here at this hour.

Well, aside from them, some of the executives decided to come with us when we invited them and they are already inside with Enver.

And of course, Dashiel is also here, together with Ferry and Castiel.

“Sorry for not attending the earlier event,” Ferry said.

“No worries about that,” I said. “I know that you are also busy.”

“I am not that busy,” Castiel said. “But Kanna forced me to finish all my work and signed all the papers even though the deadline for those is still next week.”

“Well, I am sure she did that because she knew that you will be drinking here all night.” I accompany them inside the bar.

I know Ferry and Castiel’s secretaries that is why I know how they do things while working with my friends. And they always run to me whenever they can’t find their boss who always travels to different places without even telling anyone.

We were greeted by the loud noise of the bar as soon as we got inside. And the place was only full of neon lights but it is enough for us to see where we are walking.

And I brought them to the table that was occupied by Enver, together with Lucien and two of the executives of Raiden, Simon, and Gavin.

“Dash..” They were greeted by them.

I was about to get out of their way but Ferry immediately held my arm before I could even go away.

“And where do you think you are going?” She raised her eyebrows at me.

“Ahm, there are still a lot of people who haven’t arrived yet so—”

“No!” Castiel pulled me to seat beside Enver. “You already worked hard ever since last week, You have to enjoy yourself tonight.”

“They are right, Milan,” Simon said. “We heard everything you did so have a little time for you to enjoy the fruit of your effort.”

“Ahm…” I scratched my head.

“Don’t you dare to disagree with us,” Ferry exclaimed. “Those people are old enough to go here without any hassle. You don’t need to take care of them.”

“O-okay.” I sighed in defeat.

Well, they already outnumbered me so I can’t say no to them and just do what they want me to do.

Enver gave me a bottle of beer since it is the only thing on the table that has a low level of alcohol content. “Have some.”

I accepted that. “Thank you.”

He shook his head. “I should be the one thanking you. If you didn’t accept this job, I might not be able to get this partnership with Anox.”

“Hey!” Ferry exclaimed again. “We are part of the process, right? You should be thanking us too.” Castiel and Dashiel were agreeing with her by giving Enver a nod.

“They are right,” Gavin said as he laughed. “Their unexpected decision made these things possible for us.”

“Yeah,” Simon agreed. “Even though it is not their intention, they are involved in this success too.”

Enver sighed. “Yeah, I know about that.” He turned his eyes to the three. “And I am grateful to the three of you. Thank you for your unexpected involvement here.”

And I just shook my head because those three are boasting about what they did in the success of this event.

“Anyway, Milan…” Simon called me and I immediately turned to him. “Enver said that you will only be here to help Raiden get the permanent partnership with Anox. And you will leave once we achieve that. Is that true?”

I nodded.

“Why?”

“I am only here as a favor for a friend,” I said. “I have something else to do and working as a secretary doesn’t fit my schedule.”

I have been taking too much time away from Millie ever since I started working again as a secretary. And I don’t want to miss every day while she is growing so I am still choosing to manage my cafeteria instead of being a full-time secretary again.

“But you have the skills,” Gavin said. “The connection and influence.”

I scratched my head. “Yeah. I have those but as I said, I can only help for a while but not permanently. I still have other things that need to do in my life.”

“Oh.” Sadness was all over their face. “It was such a shame.”

“If only we have a secretary like you, I am sure that our job will be much easier.”

“I can refer someone who has the skills,” I said.

And that fades the sadness from their face earlier. “Really?”

“Yeah.” I took out my wallet and handed them a business card. “You can call that agency and ask for Lauren. Tell her that I was the one who refer them to you.”

They took the card and stared at it.

“They have excellent people who have the ability of a great secretary and hold enough connection to help you with your business,” I explained. “Just talk to them directly.”

They nodded. “Thank you.”

“Hey…” Castiel called me. “Are you still involved in Lauren’s agency?”

I shook my head. “Not anymore. But sometimes I still refer a client to them. Well. you know that Lauren has a great standard for the client that she would accept that is why they are having a hard time maintaining their office.”

LVS Secretarial Agency was founded by Ben. They trained people to become a great secretary that will help their potential boss in leading their company to success. They help them learn everything about the different business industries. They also provide help in creating their own network and building personal influence.

And I am one of the products of that agency.

But since Ben is not young anymore, he passed its management to his youngest daughter, Lauren Viella-Suiga.

And that woman is too strict on finding potential clients because she believes that every person in the agency deserves to work only for the best people.

“If that is the only thing you do for her, then we will not stop you,” Ferry said. “I don’t want you to have any involvement with that woman again.”

I chuckled as I saw the lines on their forehead now that we are talking about Lauren.

Well, they don’t like that woman. The reason? She is a clingy person and she always invited me to hang out more often and that is the reason why Ferry and Castiel couldn’t find a way to be with me to the place they wanted to go.

“Don’t be too mean to her,” I said. “Besides, she is not like that anymore. She is already got married and she is too devoted to the agency. She will not be going to take me away from the two of you again.”

They averted their eyes but even though the only light we have around is neon light, I can still see that they are blushing.

These two are so easy to read.

“Let’s just stop this drama and enjoy the night, okay?” I lifted the bottle that I am holding. “Cheers to the success of Raiden.”

“Cheers!”
