Chapter 13

“That’s it Marcus! Just like that sweetheart.” praises were being thrown all over as the boys practiced their powers. I was a proud momma watching them work so hard.

“Look mommy! I can make a really big force field now!” Myles shrieked through his excitement. He was finally starting to master making force fields bigger than himself. Myles and Marcus have grown tremendously in the amount of control they have over their elemental gifts in the last couple of days. At first they could only make little sparks and small bursts of energy when we frightened them.

When they first started, control was a big problem. They couldn’t call on them all the time when they wanted them to come out. Emotions were a big trigger… I should’ve guessed that, especially since that’s what happened to me before I started learning control.

Now? WOW! Is all I can say.

Not only can they make an enormous amount of energy bursts at one time, but some of those same energy bursts can wipe out almost a mile of vegetation we learned… really anything in its path. We were practicing by the lake for safety precautions the first time. Thankfully we did because when they let that big one out? It blew across the lake draining half of it over the back side of the forest. Once the wind and animal chaos settled… about fifty feet of forest was missing. The boys started crying thinking they did something wrong. It took another ten minutes just to calm them down to alleviate more devastation as small energy bursts kept flying off everywhere.

For small children they have a lot of power. I thank the Moon Goddess I was able to find Selene. She has helped me learn how to control my own energy by giving me some very helpful pointers before I left. So, now I feel confident enough so I could help the boys better.

Johnathan has also been practicing his teleportation and mind linking to me. After what happened with Kronin we make sure no matter what we can reach each other. Those abilities have also strengthened as it doesn’t take much for him to get to me now.

We even made alliances with a nearby witch coven to help us with linking and teleportation practice when cloaked or drugged. They were more than happy to assist us after we explained who we were, and why we needed their help. The Coven Elder told us of a premonition that had been seen over the past months of a great war approaching. She also said we will need to form many more alliances soon with the other supernatural communities in order to win. This puzzled and concerned us, but we knew we would do whatever it took to protect everyone.

Sometimes Johnathon would accidentally show up only to say “oops! Sorry love.” before pecking me on my lips and disappearing again. It is quite comical really. He did it so much the other day, I started to wonder if he was doing it on purpose by lunch time.

My heart did grow fonder of him that day knowing how much he was thinking of me though. The thought still makes my heart flutter. Blush will find its way on my face and a smile creeps in everytime.

“Ok boys I want you to continue practicing making force fields that can cover and hold our entire house. Try throwing energy balls at each other… nicely of course… to practice your defensive moves too. Do you think you can do that?” I asked.

“Yes mommy!” they leaped for joy and scampered off to work on their own powers together. “Yeah! Let’s go.” could be heard from one as they ran from the open field closer to the house but not too far from my view.

Adoration and pride filled me as I watched them try what I had asked of them. They are such strong and courageous little pups. If Selene is right and Shamira tries to get to them too… I feel sorry for anyone who tries! Oh Goddess no one's getting anywhere without a fight from them two!

I knew I needed to practice using all the power energies interchangeably so I can master them without doubt. I have gotten better using my own power energy and incorporating Myles’ pearl white energy… which so happens to control the wind.

‘Ok Karin, you ready?’ needing my wolf to assist. We want to see if they can be used in wolf form too, so Karin moves as forward as she can to feel what I do and how the powers feel in use so she gets used to the feel of it. I don’t want her to startle during a fight.

‘Whenever you are. I just want to protect what's ours.’ sounding like a protective mother.

‘I know me too. And we will. Don’t worry.’ Closing my eyes I concentrated on slowing my breathing in a controlled rhythm before opening them again.

Harnessing my emotions, a swirl of blue and white energy hummed around me. Ok. Now if I could just get it to… there! Yes! My thoughts working with my motions. Getting the wind to pick up and manipulate water where and when I wanted was a challenging task at first.

“Yes! I did it…” excitement ran through me in seconds.

‘We did it.’ Karin likes to correct.

‘Yes, yes… WE did it. I couldn't do this without you!’ lifting her spirits.

‘Yep I know.’ she huffed and went silent again at my mental eye roll.

We had been trying to push the elements into and out of each other while making them work together as a unit. I finally accomplished this with the blue and white energies.

We practiced pulling white energy out of blue a few more times, getting stronger and more confident with each trial. We also practiced using them as one entity while both were complimenting the other in fierceness and force.

Not wanting to cause destruction, I only made swirls of energy dancing back and forth around me and through me instead of energy balls. I’ll need to find a safe place for us to make those.

Karin thought letting them filter into me allowed me to control them through my emotions better. I need to be able to harness them upon demand… no matter how I am feeling she reminds me.

Once satisfied uniting the two powers, I continued to unite them two to three at a time in the same manner until I could use all elemental powers interchangeably as one unit.

I called on the blue energy within and let it move around me like the ocean would the land. I could feel my eyes turning dark then lighten to dark blue before lifting myself off the ground suspended in air. Rotating my hands back and forth pulling an energy ball from them leaving it suspended freely in between my hands as my fingers stayed outstretched.

Concentrating on white, I pulled it out from the blue energy ball in front of me, never letting go or diminishing the blue. A task I did not find too daunting to keep in place as blue has always been a part of me from the beginning.

Suddenly white expelled from the center of the ball creating an additional sphere alongside blue. Getting them to hold simultaneously and independently was the trick. Now, trying another energy, I focused on green. The same result appeared. Smiling to myself as I was finally starting to pull all energies at once, yet into separate entities.

I could feel my eyes changing while calling out white. Then again when red was called forth as well. By the time I was controlling all elemental energies at once in front of me my eyes had changed once more.

They felt like a calming, burning flame was about to spill from my eyes at any moment. I could feel it trying to break free and consume me whole. My body shivered softly from the intensity of the power that radiated from it. But I craved more control. More of its intensity. I wanted to be one with it.

Without realizing what was happening, my body was being lifted into the air. The elements called out to me in whispers and I understood each one with perfect clarity.

Ever since placing the Elemental Stone inside a necklace for safe keeping, I have been hearing them call to me like old friends.

They were part of me as I was now part of each of them. Their low humming calmed my once racing heart from when I first started tapping into each element. They willingly and openly accepted my request, coming at me with full force.

I looked around and everything looked brighter… clearer. I could see Myles and Marcus making their force fields in the off distance like they were right next to me. Everything seemed like a dream. But in slow motion.

With just the thought of Johnathon, my eyes clearly focused on him. Training the men while using his teleportation to keep them using their full awareness and alertness in battle.

I focused myself more intently on him and my eyes zoomed into him like a camera lens. He suddenly stopped what he was doing by raising his hands for them to stop, turned and looked in my direction and smiled slightly.

Could he see me? Was he sensing my probing eyes on him? I smiled and called out his name. At least… I think I did. He smiled again and nodded his reply.

I sensed pride and admiration from him as he looked intently at me. Nodding back, my head slightly tilted to the side I started to pull back. Before I was completely gone I saw him completely disappear only to reappear in a different spot with the training warriors.

Releasing all the energies from my determined hold I found myself being gently lowered back to the ground. My eyes returning to their normal color upon the release and a wide smile stretched across my face.

‘Did we just do that?’ Karin questioned in awe.

‘It seems so Karin… it seems so.’ not really sure how or why that happened. But now I have something else to practice more intently.

‘Mate looked happy to see us. I think mate is proud’ she purred

‘He looked really happy to see us.’ I agreed with her. ‘I think our mate is really proud of us too, Karin.’ I could feel her beaming with delight as she continued to purr in contentment knowing we made our them proud of us.

Taking a deep breath I sighed in satisfaction of my accomplishment to call upon and control all the elemental powers at one time. “Let’s see what you’re going to do now Shamira. A fight you want… a fight you’re gonna get.” I smirked to myself as confidence started to grow within me even more. My arms crossed my chest beaming like I just won the champion medal for something or another.

‘Now let’s train the boys to fight using their powers just in case. I don’t want them to feel weak or unprepared if it comes to them needing to defend themselves.’ I spoke to myself as well as Karin walking over to the boys.

‘Then, Karin.” pausing before continuing. “We need to train the boys while you’re in full control. I swear I thought I heard her gulp with that last statement.
