Chapter 31: Chapter 31

Chapter 5

Feeling a little tired I laid down for a quick nap or to just rest my eyes it seems instead.

‘You cannot ignore me forever, Timber. Luna of the Graves Pack.’ I heard bringing me out of my own thoughts. With the voice saying the latter as if to mock me. As if telling me she knows who I am and where I reside.

‘But I can try, can't I? Besides, There is nothing here for you Shamira. Whoever you are. I am not interested in you or your empty threats. Now leave. Me, and my family. Alone.’ I sneered back with greater confidence than I actually really felt.

`We will be meeting again real soon. Sister.’ I gasped as my eyes widened at the last word spoken. Sister? I don’t have a sister. Do I? I thought to myself.

‘Why did you call me that?’ she didn’t respond. ‘Shamira! I am talking to you…. Why did you call me that?!’ feeling perplexed at her statement and what it might mean for my future.

‘Oh please tell me you’re not that dense… sister.’ then all contact went blank.

Things are starting to get really weird and I now need to find out who this Shamira really is. I need to find out more about my lineage and heritage. But where? And from who? ‘Johnathon?’ I mind linked him.

‘Yes love. What’s wrong? Your aura seems different somehow? Is everything ok with you and the boys?’ concern came back as I tried to block my emotions from entering the link. I will cause him distress and he doesn’t need that when he is working and training the men.

‘Sorry my love. Yes, everything is fine. I was just thinking of something that’s all. When will you be home? I need to be next to you. Talk with you. I miss you.’ sending love and adoration through the link.

‘I’ll be home in a few hours… but I can be home right now if needed.’ concern filtrated the link.

‘No. No need to rush. I will see you later tonight baby, really everything’s fine. I Love you.’ sending kisses through the link as he sent images of some very naughty things he wants to do to me when he does. The images made my face turn a few shades of red as I caught my breath from the intensity of them.

My legs involuntarily tightly closed together as I was trying to calm my erratic breathing and profusely beating heart. Karin purred in my head from them causing a heaviness in my stomach from my arousal.

When I heard the boys yell in fright, I was abruptly torn from my thoughts and back to reality. “MOMMMYYY! MOMMMYYY!” I heard screams in unison running to meet me in the hallway breaking me from my thoughts.

“What happened boys? What is it?” I asked as calmly as I could as I checked them over for any bruises or injuries.

“That mean lady won’t leave us alone. She keeps saying she is coming for you. For us!” they say the last part looking at each other with fearful eyes before turning back to me latching themselves onto me for what felt like dear life. Almost knocking me to the floor. Two sets of arms wrapped around my neck like vice grips.

I felt an energy not of my own radiate around me. Is it possible the boys can use their elemental powers at their age too?

Once they calmed enough to unravel themselves from a little I leaned back from staring into their tear filled eyes. Wiping their little cheeks with my thumbs. I tried soothing them by hugging them back into my body once more.

“Who won’t? Who says they are coming for us?” I asked softly, although I already knew the answer to that question.

“Shamira.” they said in unison once more, lifting their heads just enough to look at me and to let them fall back on my shoulders. The energy pushed harder against me when they did.

My eyes burned as I could feel them trying to change. A surge of power fell over me as I tried to contain my emotions as my anger was trying to erupt from me like a volcano. How dare she or anyone threaten my family. I felt as if I was absorbing the energy being emitted from them in the process of trying to control my own emotions.

She must be able to feel and sense my power as I started to hear laughing in my mind. Her laughing only causes me to hold tighter onto my ever wanting release. Understanding now, that’s how she has started to penetrate my mind. We are connected, her and I through this power. And somehow, which I am not sure how… making us sisters? The need for further understanding of what is going on is even more imperative now than it was before.

A war is coming. And my sister is bringing it full force without hesitation or remorse. And for what reason? I have yet to understand, but I will get to the bottom of it for the safety of my family…. and my pack.

And, I know the perfect person to ask. The last known living Elder.

Elder Selene.

She is the last living known Ancient Royal Elder of the Lycans. Declaring my new mission I turn my attention back to the two little boys holding on to me for dear life.

“Don’t worry boys, mommy’s not going to let her get you or anyone else.” pulling them back from their death grip embrace. Lifting their little heads so they can look into my eyes with my finger and thumbs on both hands. I stared protectively and determined in their little eyes before looking down.

Taking each of their hands in mine, I stood up and we walked down to the kitchen. “What do you say we get some cookies and chocolate milk? Uh?” smiling brightly as they nodded in unison, drying up their little sniffles as we walked.

“Mommy?” Myles’ little voice penetrated the silence.

“Yes love?” smiling down at him as we walked.

“I think we will need to practice fighting soon.” his innocence reaching my ears.

“Why do you say that baby?” stopping and bending down to their level. Concerned about his next comment.

“Because she wants our powers mommy.” Marcus spoke up catching me off guard.

“You have powers?” I questioned looking at him.

“Yes mommy…” he turned to his brother Marcus before they turned back to me nodding.

“You both have powers?” now looking between the two of them with disbelief. They just looked at each other and back at me again. Then smiled.

“Yes. mommy! We both do! We can show you after our snack if you want!” they said in unison, as happy as they could be.

“I would love that so very much, boys… but why do you think someone wants them?” concern growing for my family as they speak.

“Aunt Shamira said so. She keeps telling us she’s gonna get them and yours and destroy everything mommy. She’s a bad bad lady. We don’t like her.” they sniffed a little while little tears started to form in their eyes.

“She told you she was your Aunt?” a questioning look was very evident on my face as they nodded back to me.

“Don’t worry babies! Mommy and daddy won’t let her get you or anyone.” reassuring them as I pull them in tightly. Rubbing their little backs I was more determined than ever to get answers. I could feel Karin getting upset by the threats to her pups. She wants answers too.

“You promise mommy?” they say again in unison. I wipe their eyes, smiling gently.

“Yes my babies. I promise.” giving them one more giant hug before standing up taking their hands in mine walking towards the kitchen again.

“So. How about those cookies and chocolate milk?” squeals of excitement were heard all throughout the packhouse as they bounced to the kitchen.

“Then we can show you our powers?” they asked with excitement.

“Yes.” I chuckled lightly as I nodded to them. “Yes, you can both show me your powers.”

“Have you used them before my loves?” I questioned cautiously so as not to make them think I was going to be upset with them.

They looked at each other from in front of me as we walked and I knew they had.

“I won't be mad boys… just tell mommy the truth.” I cooed hoping they’ll tell me.

“Well, um.Yes mommy. We did.” Marcus stated while both boys held down trottened glances.

“We didn't mean to. It just… happened.” they said in unison.

“Are you mad mommy?” I could hear little sniffles starting at the thought I would be upset with them. Heck for six year olds they can and have been able to do things they shouldn’t yet. Can’t get upset for something that’s obviously out of their control.

“No. Oh no babies.” Hugging them tightly reassuringly. “I’m not mad or upset. Just a little surprised, that's all.” pulling back a little I kissed their little cheeks near their eyes.

“Can’t wait for you to show me what you can do! Maybe we can train them together?” saying softly to reassure them further.

“Come on… those cookies and chocolate milk aren’t going to eat and drink themselves.” laughing at the comment as we continued to walk to the kitchen making small talk laughing.

‘I know they each bear the mark, but how can they use it so soon?’ I heard Karin say to me. ‘I don’t know Karin, but this is going to be an interesting day for sure.’
