Chapter 56: Chapter 56
David’s P.O.V.
The female Junior students were wearing pink gowns while the Seniors were wearing blue. We, young men, had to wear black pants and suits, but our neckties should still be the same as our classified motif colors.
On top of his help, I was even more thankful to Liam because I was able to wear a branded tuxedo. As an advance graduation gift, he also gave me a luxury watch and a new pair of leather shoes. Diane even teased me that I was closer to her boyfriend than her. Well, good guys could definitely relate to each other!
And as if those were not enough, Liam actually drove me here using his black convertible. He was with Diane, and they told me that they would spoil the night together. I knew that their relationship was kind of intimate, but as long as my sister was happy, then I would be all for it.
The people outside couldn’t take their eyes off Liam’s lavish car. Well, who would not? I got inspired and promised myself that someday, I would also buy one. Big sis reminded me to enjoy the event and text her as soon as the prom was done. Liam only smiled before they left me at the QDMCC grounds.
Big bro was indeed rich, but you would not belittle yourself whenever you were with him. He was fun to be with, and I guessed that he already had everything. He was so humble despite the fact that he was such a wealthy businessman, and he was treating us—me and Denise—like his own siblings. In the future, I wanted to be like him, and I would do everything to reach my dreams.
After almost an hour of waiting outside and with a pulsating fear of marching back and forth, I finally saw Helena getting out of their newest model of a limo. I must admit that I got too excited, but I ended up stuck in awe. My Helena was damn so gorgeous! I couldn’t help myself but dart my eyes on her as my clean-shaven jaws fell off the floor.
Wow, she looks like a royal princess… so beautiful!
Helena was flawless in every way, and I just couldn’t believe that the captivating girl who was standing at the bottom of the stairs was none other than my girlfriend. I didn’t know why I suddenly felt uneasy. My body was now shaking, and my heart suddenly beats freaking faster. I didn’t know what to do until I found myself slowly approaching her as her escort.
This is it, Dave! The moment you’ve been waiting for.
Just seeing her already sent shivers down my spine—how much more when she amiably clung her right hand around my left? I then took a deep breath. I felt like I was sweating profusely… until I suddenly became conscious of what I looked like. When she gave me a breathtaking smile, it was to die for! I could not help myself but fall for her even more.
God knew how much I missed this stunning girl beside me. I was speechless. I just couldn’t find the right words to describe her. Actually, words are not enough to impeccably describe her.
I was only sure of one thing—that even though Helena was only wearing light makeup, no one could ever beat her beauty tonight. I was very lucky to have this exceptional girl beside me, making my spirits fly high!
No. Just being lucky is an understatement. I am so blessed to be with Helena tonight!
If only I could stop the clock for me to continue looking at her tonight, I already did it! I knew that even though the clock would strike near dawn, or even if we had to stay here until tomorrow, I wouldn’t get tired of staring at her. I would never get enough of her, never!
Oh, God! Is she really my Helena?
My girlfriend was damn so exquisite, and she was indeed voluptuous in her figure-hugging aqua blue gown. It was backless, and it was making me possessive to the point that I really wanted to take off my suit here to cover her exposed flawless back.
Helena’s long brown hair was perfectly tied up and curled at the bottom. A golden pearl crown accessory on her head made her even more gorgeous. She was wearing a beautiful and sparkling jewelry set too. She looked so fabulous, and if I wouldn’t control myself here, I might end up kissing her.
“As I told you last month, we will talk tonight, and I tend to keep my promise… Cristoff.” She smiled, but she looked at me with sadness in her green eyes.
Helena was not wearing her glasses anymore, and it was one of the reasons why she looked even more gorgeous. Hearing her whispering my second name that had always been her endearment towards me was cheering my soul, which ultimately led contentment to dance through my thoughts.
“Ssh, we will talk later. For now, let’s just enjoy the moment together. Are we okay with that? I miss you, Helena. I miss you so much!” I kissed her hair, careful not to ruin her side braids before we registered our names at the reception area.
She didn’t respond, but she clung tightly to my left arm when the two of us strode inside. It was a kind of hold that Helena gave me for the first time. I loved it, and I even wanted to cage her in my arms right away.
As soon as we entered the main hall, it felt like time had stopped, and all pairs of men’s eyes were admirably stuck at Helena—most especially Brent’s. I couldn’t blame him or them because my Helena was simply perfect. She was truly a goddess who fell on earth! Now, it was my time to return the sarcastic smile Brent had given me a month ago.
Back-off, young men! Most especially, you… Brent! Helena was already taken, and she’s definitely my girlfriend! my mind screamed.
The venue had a combined pink and blue ceiling drapes, designed with beautiful chandeliers. Buffet tables were partnered with tiffany chairs styled with the same ribbon motifs. The whole place was decorated cordially.
On the right side of the hall was the stage with letter-balloon designs showing “SAA’s 50th J.S. Prom” on its wall. Beside it was the music studio with different instruments and sound systems currently being played by two disk jockeys.
On the left side was the large dance floor, as it was sandwiched in between northern and southern sets of buffet tables. The tables had rustic vases full of unique flower centerpieces.
I saw Vanessa having drinks with her co-cheer dancers in the southern area and based on how she looked at me—I guessed that she was drooling over me. She was so transparent that I could irrefutably see the admiration in her eyes. Maybe she didn’t think of me as a nerd this time!
Sorry for the over-flooding self-confidence here. It was just I couldn’t help it, especially when an exquisite girl was right here beside me.
It felt like I was the most handsome guy here in our J.S. prom. And speaking of that, I saw how Vanessa threw some envious stares at Helena. My time with Vanessa was already over, and I guessed she might haven’t yet moved on from what happened to us.
Helena and I decided to occupy the two-seat table at the northern side—far from everyone. I pulled one of the chairs and let her sit first before I took the other one. I just couldn’t help but stare at Helena. She was the real epitome of the word elegance.
Can I just bring home this lovely girl? If not, can we just elope together and forget about the world?
One of the waiters came and put iced tea on our glasses, but I didn’t mind my drink because I was still raking my eyes at Helena. I couldn’t get enough of her as solemn joy bubbled inside my heart. She looked at me as well after taking a quick sip on her glass.
Helena was also staring at me the same way. I could now see the old spark in her green eyes whenever she was with me before, though there was a bit of gloom on them. But I didn’t want to entertain this kind of strange feeling. I didn’t want to look away, because I was afraid that she might walk out from me again.
I was surprised when she suddenly touched my hands on the table. She warmly squeezed them and gently whispered the words, “I miss you too, Cristoff.” It was a delayed response from what I told her a while ago.
Geez! I genuinely smiled at her as I enthusiastically grasped and kissed both of her knuckles. I guessed my smiles would even reach both of my ears, and it looked like those wouldn’t just go away after being painted on my lips.
Everything I wanted to tell Helena was all gone. All the bitterness I felt for the past three months that she hadn’t even talked to me all melted away. I could forget everything easily, and she didn’t even have to explain them to me.
It was funny how a simple ‘I miss you too, Cristoff’ could wash away all the sadness and agony I felt for the past few months. I could bear losing everything, but not Helena. She mattered to me a lot, and I loved her so much.
What does Helena really have, and she could do this to me? She is the only person who is capable of bending someone like me—making me fall for her head over heels.
