Chapter 83: Chapter 83
CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX
"The Wolf territory will be here in any minute now." Hoseok informed Taehyung as both of them were preparing for another celebration.
The event of reuniting the bond between wolves and vampires has been initiated, and for now, it is an important celebration for both races along with humans. The wolf territory didn't hold any grudges towards the vampire, although some of them were disappointed.
Everyone was invited, and the celebration itself was commenced by Hoseok. However, Taehyung wondered on why is it that Hoseok was the first one to initiate it when in the first place, he was the one who provoked Taehyung to kill all the werewolves?
"How is Jimin progressing, hyung?" Taehyung asked, getting worried over his best friend who hasn't appeared for days now—actually, months.
"He hasn't contacted me ever since. Maybe he's just so deep with the investigation, and forgot to send me a message." Hoseok shrugged his shoulders. "Don't worry, it's been days only anyways."
"I hope he's alright." Taehyung sighed, rubbing the temples of his forehead. "Make sure to find him, as well. Okay?"
Hoseok nodded. Poor guy doesn't even know he lost Jimin on the way to escape Namjoon.
"Let's go now." Hoseok gestured Taehyung out of the court room.
Taehyung raised an eyebrow at him. "It's still early. There aren't guests yet. I'll be there later."
Hoseok groaned, leaving Taehyung inside the court room and eventually entered the area of the event.
As he greeted some early guests, people were suddenly clapping and had their eyes set on the stairs. His eyebrows arched upward, taking a glance and eyes landed at the sight of a certain beauty.
There stood Caroline on top of the stairs as she glanced at the audience below. She wearing a black fitted gown with plenty diamonds glued on it paired with black diamonds jewelries and a black heels.
Having an open celebration wasn't a bad idea after all. Hoseok smiled, but noticed the serious expression of the beauty was wearing.
"Please smile...I want to see it." He sighed, eyes still fixing at the gorgeous woman whom was his first love. He watched as Caroline looked over her shoulders, his brow furrowing when he saw a car stopping behind only to see a man getting out if the car.
Is that her new lover? Or mate? Hoseok frowned. He didn't expect that Caroline would have a new lover—someone that is younger at that.
"What are you doing, Duke Jung?" A butler asked out of nowhere causing the duke to startle.
He inhaled sharply, clutching his chest as he glanced at the butler behind him. He studied the odd facial feature of the butler who have a scar slightly visible on his left cheeks—a massive one while his hair was messy that covered his left eye.
Somehow, the butler seemed familiar in his eyes, and couldn't even smell any scent in him—not even a human scent since all butlers and maids are humans.
"Do you want to speak with the Jeon Family?" The butler asked politely, glancing at the two guests at the stairs who are going down.
"Jeon Family who?" Hoseok asked, oblivious about what the butler was trying to say.
"Tía of the Moon Pack, Jeon Caroline and Alpha of the Moon Pack, Jeon Jungkook, also the son of Tia." Hoseok's eyes arched upward, taking a glimpse of what the butler was looking before realising that he was talking about Caroline and the young man.
"Jeon?"
"Yes, the lady over there," He gestured towards Caroline. "Is Jeon Caroline, while the man who was helping her is her son, Jeon Jungkook."
Hoseok froze, expression looked flabbergasted as he took in everything about what the butler was trying to say.
"You mean their last name is Jeon, and that kid is Caroline's son?" Hoseok's jaw dropped. Isn't it supposed to be Kim?
Kim Seokjin. They should be Kim Caroline and Kim Jungkook. Not Jeon—But then another realization hit him deep to the core.
The letter.
He snapped his head towards Caroline and Jungkook who are already busy talking with the other guests. His eyes settled at the young man who was with Caroline a while ago, and was supposed to be her child. Does that mean he is Seokjin hyung's child?
Hoseok let out deep exhalation, and lips parted in disbelief. He turned around but stopped his tracks when he noticed the butler is already gone.
"That's so rude." Hoseok hissed. He didn't like that the butler left without even bidding goodbye. He immediately darted to find Taehyung with his scent, and lead him to the group of elders who are talking with Taehyung.
His eyes fixed with Taehyung's gaze as the young king smiled, approaching him and bidding goodbye with the elders who eventually let him go.
"Hyung! I'm glad I saw you! Have you seen Ha Na—" Taehyung yelped as the Duke dragged him out of the event by arms before stopping their tracks when they got outside the palace and in the garden.
"Cancel the event."Hoseok said sternly as his chest heaved up and down, not letting go of Taehyung's arms.
The king's brows furrowed, yanking his hands away. "What? What are you talking about, hyung?"
"Cancel the event!" This time, the Duke snapped at him.
"Hyung!" Taehyung snarled, peircing stares exchanged from the two vampires.
"Jin hyung." Hoseok inhaled sharply. "The child."
"What?"
"Jin hyung's child." His voice cracked, squeaking a little bit. Should he tell Taehyung about it?
"Hyung's child? What about the child? Did you find the child?" Taehyung rambled, looking at his hyung with hope that the Duke has finally find their hyung's child.
Hoseok's eyes flickered away from Taehyung's gaze, feeling his heart stomping in his chest. He wasn't sure if it would be a good idea for Taehyung to know about it. Hopefully, Taehyung wouldn't hear him thinking of those thoughts—in which he really didn't.
The Duke has his mind clouded with greediness and selfishness as Caroline invaded his mind. Call him selfish, but he honestly doesn't want the she wolf to know about Seokjin being still alive—not yet.
Hoseok still has the idea of him loving Caroline in his heart, and he wanted to ease his heart first before he could finally tell Seokjin about Caroline and their child.
"It's nothing." The Duke forced out a smile, thinking of a valid reason. "I just wanted you to cancel the event until we find Jin's child. You know? To celebrate with Jin hyung together with his family."
"Hyung," Taehyung sighed. "I have no idea what you're trying to say but you need to calm down. I will cancel the event, whatever your decision."
He laughed, adding. "It's not like this event was made for Jin hyung for me to cancel."
Hoseok hesitantly nodded, taking a deep breath before managing to make an eye contact with Taehyung.
"But have you seen Ha Na?" Taehyung asked, and Hoseok furrowed his eyebrows.
"No I haven't. Why?" Hoseok shook his head, glad that Taehyung wasn't asking any more questions about Seokjin's child.
"You know about the ring, right?"
"The ring you gave to Ha Na that has your scent in it?" Taehyung nodded. "Why? What about it?"
"Right? But it's strange." Taehyung scoffed. "I certainly gave her the ring. Did she perhaps lost it? I couldn't even smell her scent nor my scent when I hugged her the last event."
Taehyung wasn't convince that the sweat forming on his soulmate's body was the reason he couldn't smell her. He was suppose to smell only her in any circumstances because that's one of the obstacles he has to stake just to be with her.
"Why don't you ask her about?"
"Never mind." Taehyung chuckled but the frown and disappointment in his expression was evident. "I'm sure she took it off because she wasn't sure about her feelings for me. I forced her to wear it during the engagement ball."
"I'm sure she has feelings for you too. She wouldn't act that lovely, and perform an event for you, right?" Hoseok reassured the young who just nodded.
"Fine, I hope so." Taehyung pouted. "But I have to go, Hyung."
"I know you already missed her." The Duke teased him causing a tint of blush appeared on the king's cheeks. Taehyung growled at him making Hoseok back away and chuckled.
The two of them parted their ways with Taehyung going to look for Hanisha, whom Taehyung thought as Ha Na, and with Hoseok going somewhere.
Taehyung sighed, feeling the emptiness in his heart and longing for Ha Na. His eyebrows raised, and stopped when he realized he was already in the Legendary Garden. He groaned, looking above to look for the tree that holds his heart, only to see a familiar figure. Even her familiar scent lingers in his nose.
"Ha Na? What is she doing here?" A smile crept on his lips, taking a step forward but his smile turned upside down when he noticed a werewolf coming the woman’s way.
"I must've took it wrong." Taehyung shook his head, backing out. He watched as the lady pet the werewolf who purred in satisfaction.
"That must be her mate." Somehow, there was bitterness in his voice.
