Chapter 82: Chapter 82
CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE
"You mean my best friend is still alive?" Jimin's lips quiver as he processed the words his brother were trying to convey. He couldn't believe it. He couldn't because his best friend died in front of his eyes, he witnessed every single thing.
"That's what the spy we put in the castle informed us. He couldn't even believed that the King is still alive either."
"Namjoon—" His voice cracked, flickering his eyes side by side as he panicked. "He didn't kill Taehyung?"
"Not entirely." Yoongi shrugged his shoulders, sticking out his bottom lip. "How did Taehyung die in front of you, anyways? You said something about witnessing his death, right?"
"He was stabbed by a silver sword! And Namjoon hyung let me witnessed it." He let out a shaky whimper, mind wandered at the day of Taehyung's death.
"A silver sword?" Yoongi raised his eyebrows at him, and his younger brother nodded eagerly. The beta’s jaw dropped, shook his head in disbelief, and sighed. "Here I am thinking you are a smart Duke."
Jimin frowned by his words, lips pouted. "Why, what's wrong?"
"It's just a silver sword." Yoongi answered nonchalantly, trying to point out something.
"But that doesn't justify the fact that Taehyung is alive!" Jimin whined, and Yoongi's eyes widened at the sudden outburst of the smaller boy and smacked his head.
Jimin clutched his head, glaring at his older brother and whined. "Hyung! Why did you hit me?!"
"Be optimistic for fuck's sake." Yoongi growled, glaring at him.
Jimin hissed, straightened his posture. "I am just stating the truth."
"What I meant is that," Yoongi huffed. "The Kim Taehyung, strongest vampire in history, couldn't have died over just a silver content in his body. Didn't even you think of that?"
Jimin looked baffled making Yoongi snort. "I even looked to you as a mighty one and smart one since you were a kid because you are an alpha."
"Why didn't I think of... that?" Jimin trailed off, collapsing on the bed. His brows furrowed and abruptly sat up as he grumbled. "But hyung, why didn't you let me help you guys with the attack? How come I didn't know you guys were attacking?"
Yoongi groaned. "Too much questions, Jiminie. But hey, you're still weak from the loss of someone."
He nodded. "And Tía didn't want any outsider to know about the attack except for Jungkook, Tía, the pack and I. Even the Luna didn't know about this."
Jimin pursed his lips into thin line. "Since when did you attack though?"
"I told you before that I'll be busy for a week, and won't be seeing you much." Yoongi answered, truthfully.
Jimin sighed in relief, nodded off, and smile appeared on his lips when Taehyung crossed his mind. He couldn't believed it still that his best friend is still alive. Somehow, another person came in his mind that made him wonder.
"What about Namjoon? What happened to him?" He questioned, eyes flickered towards Yoongi's eyes in anticipation.
Even if Jimin hates Namjoon for ruining the group, he still cared. Those memories they shared together. The memories where Namjoon always taught Jimin how to fight, and other things that helped him rose as one of the strongest vampire that existed.
"He is dead." Yoongi blurted out, gritting his teeth. He knew that his brother cared for Namjoon too.
"Oh—" Jimin's heart ached even though that in his mind, it was telling him that Namjoon deserved such karma. "But I'm glad Taehyung is alright though."
There was silence for a moment between the two of them until one decided to break it off by chuckling in amusement. "You really care for him, right? thought that you would hate him for turning you to such."
"Who? Taehyung?" Jimin cocked an eyebrow, and Yoongi nodded.
Jimin looked down, feeling guilty all of a sudden and let out an exasperation breath. "I never said I hate him. I just dislike the way he turned me into something totally opposite of me."
"I agree with that. You could've been killed with that vampire blood in your system because you're a werewolf!" Yoongi exclaimed. "But still you survived, and not only you are an alpha, you even became one of the strongest vampire."
"What do you suggest me to do? What's your point? You want me to thank him for almost killing me?" Jimin retorted, crunching his nose.
"Yes." Yoongi answered in monotone. "He is your best friend, and he saved you. I may not know what happened back then but I know Taehyung has a reason for turning you into one."
Jimin's expression softened as he remembered the reason why he was turned into a vampire—because his own best friend really did save him. And Jimin being conflicted about it, probably having a war inside his mind, made Yoongi laughed.
"Why are you laughing?" Jimin scoffed, giving a death glare to his brother.
Yoongi shook his head, trying to hold his laughter down. "Now that I think about our conversation, doesn't this prove that you won't be able to live without him?"
"Me? Cannot live without Taehyung?" Jimin chuckled nervously, denying every ounce his brother was trying to accused and proved.
"I never said it was Taehyung." Yoongi snorted, amused when his brother's chubby cheeks slightly flushed in pink. It even made Yoongi slightly smile as he thought that vampires really do blush.
"Don't you want to see him?" Yoongi smiled, sitting on the bed beside him. "Don't you want to come back to him? We can assist you there."
Jimin moved his head side by side and sighed. "I'm not ready to see him yet, hyung..."
"Why not?” Yoongi backed away a little, staring at his brother. “He must be—"
"I couldn't face him yet." Jimin bit his lips, looking away from Yoongi's gaze.
Because of shame. Jimin mentally thought. It's because of shame that he couldn't face his best friend yet. Back then, he didn't do anything to save his best friend. He couldn't do anything to save him. But surely, he was happy that Taehyung is somehow alive out there.
Caroline opened the door, walking inside the medics room where Kiana was situated, and Kiana's eyes widened when she locked gaze with Jungkook's mother causing her anxiety to shoot up.
"Don't be nervous." Caroline reassuringly said, sitting on the chair beside her bed. Kiana nodded, looking down in embarrassment, and fidgeted with her fingers in nervousness.
"I heard from the doctors that the baby isn't holding well. Have you heard of it?" Caroline asked, interlocking her fingers as she searched for any eye contact.
"Yes." Kiana answered, bluntly.
"That child is a half breed, right? The doctor told me so." She asked, partly lying.
Of course, she knew about the child being a half breed the moment Kiana entered the pack's territory. She knew it before the doctor even told her so. She could sense everything, and knew right away except for Ha Na's case in which his son tricked her.
"You seemed young to be pregnant. How old are you?" Caroline asked another question, trying to ease the uncomfortable omega in front of her.
"18 years old." Kiana cleared her throat and inhaled sharply.
"You have the same age as Jungkook and Ha Na. What are the odds." She smiled sweetly. Jungkook is literally 18 years old even though his growing phase is late.
"Really?"
"Yes. They're perfect for each other. They even have the same birthdays!"
"That's a-awesome. When is it?" Kiana stammered, and her wolf shuddered when she heard those words. The wolf inside her didn't like it.
"Both of them were born on September 1." She smiled.
What are the odds, the three of us have the same birthdays then. Kiana forced out smiled.
