Chapter 101: Chapter 101

CHAPTER FORTY FOUR

"What are you doing here?" She looked away, the bitterness and disappointment was clear in her voice.

Taehyung flinched, taken a back. It ended up with him telling a lie. "I just—I wanted to see Jimin."

It frustrates here because why didn't Taehyung told her that he is the King? All this time, she was hanging out with the King of Vampires without her knowing a single thing?

She mentally slapped herself. How could I not think about it? Of course, he would be something special since his friend is a Duke!

"Jimin isn't here." Ha Na snapped harshly, eyes now giving him cold gaze making him confused.

"What's wrong?" Taehyung asked, worriedly as he stepped forward. "Did I do—"

"Go now if you are here to see Jimin." She hissed, her heart twisted at the treatment she was giving him. "Get a better excuse to be here."

She turned away, blinking the tear that was forming as she started to walk but halted when a hand gripped her wrist causing her to spin around again.

Gasping, her eyes connected with Taehyung's disheartened eyes. He was truly hurt at the way Ha Na was talking to him. Just what did he do wrong for her to be this way?

"What am I going to do just to see you all over again?" Taehyung blurted out, and lips quivered as his eyes got teary as well. "Why am I the only one making effort and excuses for it?"

"Tae—"

"No!" He yelped, wrapping his hands around her wrist, tightly. "I'm doing this nonsense because I was hoping that you were her!"

Ha Na's eyebrows knitted together in confusion. "Her?"

"It's making me insane too!" He yelled, voice trembled. "I felt like my fiancée isn't supposed to be who she is. I felt like she is someone else, and here I am thinking that you might be her."

She was flabbergasted of what Taehyung was trying to convey. When in fact, he was talking about how his fiancée in the palace isn't his soulmate, and how the woman in front of him might be.

Considering the circumstances she has, it seemed similar to how Taehyung's soulmate should be—not the one that is in the palace.

"Just what did I do wrong this time? Tell me." He pleaded, almost bursting out in tears as he fell on the floor with his arms wrapped around Ha Na's legs already. "P-Please just don't stay away from me."

Ha Na's lips parted as she breath out, and blinking. Did she hear that right? Is the King of Vampires begging her?

No, you shouldn't be bothered about it, Ha Na! She mentally yelled.

"You want me to tell you what's wrong?" She snarled, struggling herself out of his grasps but Taehyung just tightened his arms. "It's the fact that you're the king."

"What?" Taehyung's eyes widened, pulling himself away as he looked above. "How did—"

"I know, and I'm too dumb to even realised that." She snapped, glaring at him.

Taehyung gasped for some air, inhaling sharply. "What of If I am a King?"

"Then I shouldn't have approached you in the first place."

Taehyung stood up making Ha Na startled, and took a step back. He gritted his teeth, eyes flash in yellow and not minding the harsh answer she just responded there because he knew there was more than that reason.

"What if I am the King? Would that status separates the two of us?"

"What?"

"Answer me!" He snapped, piercing eyes staring into her eyes with displease. "Answer me. What don't you like about me being the King?"

"You are the king..." Ha Na trailed off, heaving. "Just like a sky."

She looked up, daring to stare at Taehyung's eyes. "A mere human don't dare reach you. I cannot reach you."

Ha Na looked down, eyes widened when she realised what she was saying. What am I saying? I have a mate!

"No...this shouldn't—"

"If I am the king," Taehyung cut off, grabbing her shoulders firmly. "Just like the sky."

He stared into her eyes, as if searching through. "Take a closer look,"

He leaned in, hands travelled to her cheeks before caressing it in a circular motion. He closed his eyes in respect for her not wanting for him to see her yet. His fingertips slowly moving up to the silk up, opening them.

"Wh—"

His lips brushed against her, whispering. "Because that sky will fall on you."

Two lips collided, creating a chaste yet passionate kiss. Both melted in each other's presence as they joined their lips deeper, lost in the warm feelings.

What they didn't know that someone out there was looking from behind, jaw hanging low as tears flowed down while the other just stared blankly without no emotions but his mind became muddled.

Jungkook blinked his blurry eyes to get a clear view as he turned around before running back to the territory. He cried yet his wolf was showing no reaction about it. "At the end of the day, you still chose to be with him."

Not only did Jungkook witnessed the scene, Yoongi was there to witness it too.

Not minding everything, a tear fell down on Ha Na's cheeks before one pulled away, and her silk was pulled back down. She winced in pain when her head start to throb, closing her eyes tightly.

"Do you want to have a drink?" A deep yet hoarse voice asked from behind.

He smiled as he offered her a glass of wine. Ha Na was being hesitant to receive it but eventually grabbed it from him. He stood by her side, leaning on the balcony and looking at the moon. He didn't say anything but just drink his glass.

His silver-gray hair just plays along with the wind and his skin goes along with the contrast of the moon. If one would look deep into his eyes, it was as if a moon is shining into his own eyes.

He stared at her for seconds before words formed from his mouth.

"I guess, I'll have to see you soon."

Another yet awestanding memory flashed as she pressed her hands at the side of her forehead, putting pressure and trying to ease the pain.

"What is your name?"

"It's just a name. Don't be troubled about it."

"Min..." She sniffed and wiped the tears away from her eyes, looking away from his eyes. "Ha Na."

Another batch of tears streamed as Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows. He watched her with baffled expression, his heart clenched at the sight.

"Why are you crying?" He asked, attempting to touch her again but she just jerk his hand away.

"Elisse—" She choked on her sobs, remembering the day her and Elisse was taken to the palace.

"It will be okay...I will be here, okay?"

Her comforting words was the only thing that kept Ha Na alive and survived in the palace.

"What?" Taehyung could barely hear the words she was trying to produce.

"So you're the girl that Taehyung decided to marry? To be his Queen?"

"Don't even think about it. He will definitely not stand by."

"He is the one who is against of the King falling in love. How much more to a human?"

The voice. She knew it belonged to Hoseok. She exactly remembered his words, and then she cried as more memories paraded in her mind.

"Why can't I read your mind?"

"You are my soulmate...But why can't I read your thoughts?"

"D-don't leave me. Don't fall in love with someone else. Don't go looking for someone else. Look only for me, my Queen."

"You made me do this, love. You gave me no choice. This is the only thing I can do to protect you and that is to make you mine, mark you as my person."

"Let's do this sometimes. I love it when you're in my arms."

Her lips quiver as her teary eyes connected with Taehyung's eyes.

"What is this?" She gasped out, Taehyung's face looked similar to the one that was showing her.

"Your engagement. Your wedding. You didn't know?"

"W-with who?" Her voice cracked, lips turned upside down.

"With the the King."

"I announce you the future Queen of All Races, Min Ha Na!"

She shook her head, trying to run away again but Taehyung was quick to grab her hands.

"What is wrong?" He was surely worried but Ha Na was petrified at how he was acting with his hands on her wrist.

"Look at it closely!"

"This ring means—" He paused, gulping down his saliva, grabbing her left hand before growling in between the words. "You belong only to me."

Ha Na stared at his hands in horror, all the memories of that day came flooding her.

"Let go of me, y-you—" She tried to struggle her way out but Taehyung tugged her forward, leading to him embracing her as he tried to calm her down.

Yet another image appeared when she cried on his shirt.

"I'm really sorry, baby. I can't c-control myself."

"I'm sorry. I know it isn't a valid reason b-but it's ju—"

"No need to explain, Tae."

Another memory of her in the middle of the field full of flower appeared that made her melt in his arms, but horror struck her when Elisse's dead body showed up.

"I-" Her voice shakes, frantically trembling under his touch. "No—This can't be happening to me."

"It'll be alright, okay?"

She squirmed that signalled Taehyung to squeeze her, letting her know that he will be there but she was even more petrified by his touch.

"It's weird that you call me Your Majesty. I'm used to you calling me Taehyung."

"But you are the king."

"For once, can you not treat me like a king? I just wanted to be with you as a man today, and not as a king."

"I want to be here with you as your man. After all, this man is yours."

"I belong only to you today, and for eternity."

Everything was coming too fast. All the words seemed like it just clicked in her mind in just a matter of seconds. From her meeting Taehyung, Jungkook dying, Yoongi being gone, Elisse being dead, Jimin being accused down to Jungkook meeting her.

Even the memories of her past with her parents.

"What happened?" Taehyung asked softly, and with all her strength, she pulled away from him.

She looked into his eyes for the last time. "I'm sorry."

With that, she ran away as fast as she could. Everything came clear for her, and it definitely makes sense. At the same time, it made her loathe herself more because...she hated Kim Taehyung.

Nonetheless that, she remembered everything.
