Chapter 42: Chapter 42

Why my name is so common? I am that Aliyah who your grandpa is talking about! I want to say that, but I don't want to ruin his relationship with that Aliyah.

"Can I go out, Papa? I am so bored here." I yawned.

"Just in the garden, you are still not allowed to move around," he said. I nodded.

They forgot about everything before I got into an accident. Even Dr. Dizon didn't remember what happened after the night I met him in the bar.

"Can you walk, or do I have to get a wheelchair?" my father asked.

"I will walk, Papa, before I forgot the purpose of my feet," I answered.

"Alright." My father helped me with my dextrose. He gave me a face mask to wear. Even this hospital is not accommodating patients affected with the virus but still, prevention is better than cure.

"I will leave you here for some moment. I need to make some calls." My father smiled then left me on the bench in the field of the hospital.

I caressed my chest part where my wound was located. It almost killed me on both sides. Is it just a coincidence that Dr. Henry Dizon III saved me from dying?

"Why are you here?"

I looked at the person behind me. I sighed. He sat beside me; I am guessing that it is his break time.

"How about you? Is it your free time?" I asked him back.

"I don't have free time. They will call me when they need me." He showed me his phone.

I don't want to look at him. As much as possible, I want to ignore him because I remember Henry with his face. Why they have to look the same? I thought I can move on easily knowing that Henry did what he promised to me. That they lived a happy life. But seeing his grandchild makes me miss him more.

"Will you believe if I tell you that I personally know your grandfather?" I asked without looking at him.

"Of course, maybe you met him on some occasions," he answered.

I laughed. "Possible. But perhaps I am that Aliyah he was talking about."

I know he is very confused right now. "What are you saying? That was decades ago. You can't be that girl." He even laughed, probably thinking that I did go crazy.

"That Aliyah you said that your grandfather asked you to protect, are you that she is that Aliyah?" I bit my lower lip.

He didn't answer. Instead, he fixed his eyes on me, I can feel that.

"What made you think that the girl you have right now is the same girl who wants your grandpa to protect and take care of? What is your basis? Is it just the name? There's so many Aliyah in the world," I said the finally looked at him.

He let out a deep breath. "What are you trying to say? Are you saying that you are that Aliyah? What is your proof then?" His eyes were sharply looking at me.

"I am not saying that, but I am extremely sure that you got the wrong Aliyah. The Aliyah that your grandpa was talking about is more knowledgeable than you when it comes to your grandpa's life when he was young." I smiled at him.

"Who are you, Aliyah?" he asked then he narrowed his eyes on me.

"Did he receive the letter?" I looked away. I can't remember what I wrote on that paper, I know that I only said goodbye to him.

"What letter?" His eyes widened.

"Before that girl disappeared, she left a letter for him. Did he read it? What is his reaction?" My tears fell on my eyes.

"How did you know that? I didn't tell you that detail." He was furious.

"Just answer me, did he receive it? Did he read it?" I looked at him again.

"Aliyah, he did receive it. He said that's the only thing that girl left him with," he answered.

"Do you still have that letter?"

He nodded. "Yes, it was on his things in the mansion. My father kept it for some reason."

"Can you read then? I am sure that will give a detailed explanation about that girl," I said then stood up.

He followed me. "I don't know who you are? Why did you know that? How much do you know about my family?"

I faced him. "I just know little things. That your grandpa's father killed your grandma's father. And also, Grandpa Henry killed his own father in other to save other innocent people's lives. His mother committed suicide and your grandma's mother was sent to jail for the sin she never committed. It's your grandmother who killed my grandmother's parents."

Until now, it hurts me a lot. I think I can never move on. This scar on my chest will forever be a reminder of what did I experience at that time. I am forever scarred.

I turned my back at him. I know he is still following me. I suddenly feel a pang of pain. I stopped walking and held my chest.

"Aliyah, how did you know that? Did someone tell you? Tell me, what else do you know about my family?" he asked nonstop.

I held his arm because I feel like I'm going to pass out because of this pain.

"I-I can't breathe," I said.

When he heard that he immediately examined me. "You are bleeding..." He carried me back to the hospital.

My father came. "What happened to her?" he asked Dr. Dizon.

"She is bleeding. She needs to be cured immediately before she runs out of blood." He put me in bed then called the nurse.

"Am I dying, Papa?" I was crying.

"No, sweetheart. You will be safe." He kissed my forehead.

"I can't breathe. Why can't I breathe?" I held his hand.

"Mr. Arandia, you need to leave the room for now," I heard Dr. Dizon said.

My father let go of my hand. "No! Papa, don't leave me!" I spoke.

"You will be okay. I will be back I promise." He left.

I looked at Dr. Dizon. "Am I dying?" I asked him while he was putting me in a nasal cannula.

"No, you are not dying. Trust me." He left for a while then came back with a syringe.

"Don't make me sleep, please." I am afraid that I will be transported again to another time.

"We need to, that's a protocol. I'm sorry, Aliyah. Don't worry, it will just make you calm before you voluntarily drift yourself into a deep sleep," he said then injected me the syringe.

"I can't go back there. I can't handle more pain," I said out of nowhere. I don't know why I am saying these things.

"You can't go back where?" he asked before he removed my hospital gown.

"What are you doing?" He might see my...

"I'm so sorry, but you have to trust me. I am professional, I will do you no harm." He removed my bandage that I blurry see...

He spoke to the nurse; I can't understand them now. My sight and hearing are not working properly.

"Am I dying?" I asked again.

"You can't die. I will make sure you will live, Aliyah," he answered.

"Just like what like Henry did. He saved me too," I said then smiled.

"I won't let you die because you need to tell me everything you know."
