Chapter 20: Chapter 20
Jonea Fallon
The young man bowed very low and brought his head towards me. I gripped the pebbles that were on the ground. I'm ready to punch him if he intends to hurt me.
When my hand was raised, suddenly, the young man pulled the hood of his jacket back. His black hair swayed down to his forehead. He has a symmetrical face shape with defined cheekbones and a nose.
He looked at me and gave me a sinister smile.
Moon goddess! I screamed inside. Who is this handsome and beautiful creature?
I shivered at the sight. Even with such a cynical smile, he looked extremely handsome and charming.
"Welcome, Aunt!"
"W-what? AUNT? Who are you?"
He'd probably be about the same age as me–if he was human. But I have my doubts. He could be hundreds of years old. Their faces are deceiving.
He was still squatting in front of me. Now his face became cold as ice in the north pole. He narrowed his eyes and tried to intimidate me.
A second later, he opened his mouth wide, and terrifying sharp fangs appeared.
"Aaahhh!"
While screaming in surprise, I slammed my hand, holding the gravel toward his face.
Immediately he jumped up and flipped backward with both hands still tucked in his trouser pockets. He stood majestically, with extraordinary good looks, while still bearing his vampire fangs.
Vampire?
I suddenly gasped at the thought.
He did have a very pale face and a pair of sharp fangs. But there can't be vampires where the wolves live. Besides, how could he do it?
I stared at the pebbles I smashed into him. Now the white pebbles were floating in the air, frozen and motionless.
He blew into the empty space before him, and the pebbles fell like rain at my feet.
Who is this scary monster? I really couldn't possibly fight him. The ability that I have is limited to physical kicks and punches. So far, he's managed to dodge all of my attacks effortlessly.
"WELCOME. I saw you from above."
"So… you were on the second floor? How did you move so quickly?"
"I used my teleportation power."
I really can only stare. Of course–teleportation. The same thing was done by Daran and the people in the black castle.
"I didn't mean that! Why are you doing that? Suddenly showing up, moving places, and scaring me? Are you having fun with all this?"
I have regained the courage I had lost. I'm ready to throw a tantrum in front of him without hesitation.
"Thought I could help you with those heavy bags."
I swallowed again the insults that I almost threw out.
"Is it not?" He frowned. "Okay, if you can handle it yourself."
He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, then turned away, leaving me just like that. I was still sitting terrified on the gravel ground.
He really succeeded in pissing me off.
What else can I do? I got up and patted my buttocks to dust off my skirt.
I have to reply. No way!
"Hey, vampire!" I shouted loudly. "You… don't know manners. Is this how you greet guests?"
The young man stopped.
I was stunned and swallowed hard.
Oh, stupid me! I may have pissed him off.
The pale youth was still frozen. I saw his hands still tucked in his trouser pockets. His back tensed.
What is he doing?
I'm starting to panic. He just stood and didn't turn to me. Also does nothing.
That's when I realized. It was as if a dark aura was emitting from his unmoving body. Very gripping and scary.
Just as he turned around, I backed away to save myself. Is he really going to kill me this time?
The young man walked casually but threateningly back to where I had fallen. Oh no! I also back away. To hell with those bags.
We stood about ten meters apart. Far enough to protect my self. I was thinking of running to the main gate. But I saw the young man suddenly stop right between my two suitcases lying.
Now what is he trying to do?
Without saying a word, he grabbed my suitcases and lifted them easily. He carried the suitcases into the house.
I could only stare, and instantly, my knees felt weak. I thought he was going to attack me.
"Ha ha ha… What is this? Gosh… he's really kind and polite enough to make me almost die of fright!"
I can only say sarcastically to describe this strange situation. I walked into the house, following him.
"Besides, I don't know where to go if I run away from here? Even back to the black castle, I don't dare to go through the airport and the same guard. Even if I wander outside, who knows if those Werewolves would find me and kill me on the spot?"
I exhale harshly. I have no other choice. I have to live in this house.
I set foot into the house. Everything looks magnificent. The interior is dominated by white and black.
The young man in the black jacket was standing in the middle of the living room. He put my two suitcases on the right and left of his feet.
"Why are you walking so slowly?" he grumbled. "You can use the room."
I followed his index finger and nodded. "Okay, thank you."
I quickly took my two suitcases from him and walked towards the room.
"Wait!" he argued.
I stopped walking and turned slowly to him. "Did I do something wrong again?"
"We don't know each other yet," he said coldly. "My name is Owen Rivers. Who are you?"
"I… Jonea Rawling."
"Rawling? I think I've heard that name before. All right, Jonea. I only got information that you are my uncle's new toy."
"Uncle? Are you Daran Carver's nephew?" I rolled my eyes in disbelief. "I thought Daran told me you were his cousin?"
"He old geezer bastard!"
I can hear him grumbling.
"He… Daran… never acknowledged me as a nephew. He always introduces me to everyone he meets as a cousin. Looks like he doesn't want to look old if he has a nephew my age. I think we're the same age, right?"
I shuddered to hear his narrative. I quickly dragged my suitcases into the room.
"Whatever you say," I muttered.
Owen doesn't seem to accept it. He immediately stood in front of the bedroom door and blocked me.
"What else now?" I shouted, annoyed. I'm sick of being constantly surprised and scared like this. "Can you not teleport in front of me? It's very annoying!"
"I'm also bothered that we still haven't clarified the misunderstanding!"
"What misunderstanding? I already understood that you are not Daran's cousin but his nephew. Because you don't want to be considered the same age as Daran. I don't care about your age, status, and looks!"
Owen's pair of eyes suddenly flashed bright red. "You're not listening to me, Jonea!"
I froze, and my throat constricted. The suitcase slipped from my hand. My body suddenly stiffened, and I couldn't move at all. What is this? He bewitched me?
Owen moves like the wind. He stood beside me and whispered.
"Don't call me a vampire! I hate those bloodsuckers. They are like mosquitoes."
So he's not a vampire? But those fangs… were different from those of wolves. What creature is he?
I can only glance at it. I can't even speak.
Owen opened his mouth wide and bared his fangs again.
"Are you interested in my fangs? Or do you want to know how it feels when these fangs penetrate your smooth skin to your throbbing veins?"
I tried my best to move my body. I have to be able to fight this man. He started to sink his fangs into my exposed shoulders.
"Since you think I'm a vampire, why don't we try a role-play? I will pretend to be a vampire, and you will pretend to be the prey?"
He places his fingers on my neck and pulls my shirt collar down below my shoulders.
"Your shoulders are so smooth and seductive. I wouldn't be surprised if my uncle wanted to keep you. How does your blood taste?"
I can only close my eyes tightly. Every muscle in my body tensed.
Please… stay away! What kind of creature are you?
