Chapter 16: Chapter 16
Jonea Fallon
After telling me a few things, Eve suddenly walked closer to me and grabbed the pendant hanging around my neck.
"Dragon tears? How about having it?"
Eve looked taken aback. She took off the dragon tear pendant as if her hand was on fire.
I need to find out where I got this pendant. I held it tightly, hoping that my feelings would reach Aland, who had given this pendant to me.
Eve rubbed her hot hands from the dragon tear pendant around my neck. She looked agitated.
"Are you all right, Eve?"
"So those really are dragon tears? Only some people can touch and own it. Because the dragon's tears choose, who has the right to own them. If someone else were to forcefully touch it, the worst would be this."
Eve showed her burning red palms.
I am surprised. Because that didn't happen to Daran. He also touched my dragon tear pendant.
"Does it hurt?" I was worried to see Eve's injured hand.
"Does not matter. It's just a small wound. Will recover in a few days. Remember, I'm still a Lycan."
"A few days? During the? I thought a Lycan and a werewolf could heal themselves in seconds."
"The effect that dragon tears have is as strong as silver on us."
I understand now. And I'm surprised how much dragon tears impact werewolves and lycans who don't deserve them? So that's why Daran said dragon tears are always connected to their owner.
"I heard your wolf can't be revived yet? It should be with the dragon tear in your hand; you can easily awaken your power. You can even have magical abilities if you can control them."
I was genuinely interested in the information Eve had just shared.
"Wolf awakening with dragon tears and possessing magic abilities? How am I going to do that?"
"Try to remember and dig in your mind a powerful emotion. Usually, powerful emotions can provoke sleeping wolves to awaken."
"Emotion?"
Eve drew closer to me. She reached out and covered my eyes.
"Begin to close your eyes and think about the strongest emotion you have ever felt inside of you. When combined with the power of a dragon's tear, the power of that emotion can trigger an awakening."
Is it really that easy? Why didn't Daran tell me this way? Should I try?
Even though I doubt I can do it, I still try. Because I'm curious about the results. I began to close my eyes and hold the dragon tear pendant in my hand.
I closed my eyes and felt a warm sensation in my palm as I held the dragon's tear pendant. Eve took a few steps back to keep her distance from me. I am still determining what will happen.
I'm starting to feel powerful emotions due to revenge, anger, and sadness because of accumulated losses. Yes, all those emotions were raging inside of me. They sprang up, intertwined, and filled my chest more and more. It felt so tight, and I wanted to explore.
My last dream. Again, I present Aland in my mind. I saw him again, his body covered in wounds and his hands bound. Everyone in the square stared at him with hatred and hatred.
The dream seemed to come back with more detailed circumstances. Things previously overlooked are now clearly drawn before my eyes.
It wasn't just a dream. But Aland was placed entirely in the centre of the plaza. He got ridiculed and shouted from all the people present there. They called, demanding that Aland be given the punishment he deserved.
"No! Don't do that to Aland!"
I felt my tears begin to seep between closed lids. My chest feels so full and wants to explode. Everything is pictured real in front of me.
Aland looked at me blankly. He smiled so thinly and said something.
Suddenly I felt a powerful gust of wind around my body. I felt my hair start to lift. I even felt the hem of my dress begin to unfold. The wind carried a sensation that was so torturous as well as full of emptiness.
I heard cracks and sharp fragments all around me. I am still trying to figure out what happened. My mind was too focused on Aland and trying to reach him.
The sound of cracking and shattering grew louder and louder around me. Something kept scratching my body. I ignore all that. Because this feeling of loss and hopelessness is so much bigger than the pain that runs through my body.
"Jonea!"
I started to understand what Aland was saying through his pale lips. He called my name, trembling on the execution platform.
"Jonea!"
Suddenly I widened my eyes and realized that Daran had hugged me tightly from behind.
My body feels weak. My energy is completely drained. I couldn't even stand on my own two feet.
Daran immediately caught me and took me in his arms.
I don't know what happened. I can still see and hear everything, but my body is so weak I can't move.
"Don't be like that, Evangelista!" Daran scolded Eve in a firm tone. "You can't teach my future bride dangerous things."
From inside Daran's arms, I could see Eve standing with her arms folded across her chest. Her gaze was so sharp and cold. Absolutely no friendly face or warmth from her. As if she wasn't Eve, who was talking and joking with me a few minutes ago.
“Daran?”
For the first time, I could speak and looked at Daran, who had returned with a mask covering his face.
I couldn't see Daran's expression right now. Only his pair of eyes turned blood red. From the tone of his voice, I could feel Daran was furious right now.
It was then that I began to look at the circumstances around me.
Everything made of wrought iron shattered. Some are cut into pieces.
I stared in disbelief.
"What happened?"
When I slowly raised my hand, I found a lot of scratches there. I was injured quite a lot, and blood started to seep out.
"What happened?" I repeated.
No one wants to explain. Daran and Eve just stared at each other sharply. Daran grew possessive, holding me in his arms.
"Carver, who exactly is this girl?" Eve said coldly and glared at Daran.
"Not all lycans have this much magical ability. You said this wolf girl hasn't been resurrected. You say she's also inexperienced. But what happened just now proves otherwise."
"She is Red Moon Blood."
"So? Why didn't you say so from the start?"
"It's better if only a few know. Don't worry so much!"
Eve took a shaky breath.
"So, the mess that happened in this room because of me?" I really feel sorry for Eve.
My strength is back. Slowly I asked Daran to lower me from his arms.
"You're still hurt," Daran said.
I showed my two arms full of sharp scratches. The wounds slowly closed again and left no marks at all.
“Your ability to heal wounds is much faster than before.”
I got down and faced Eve. I lowered my face slightly and told him I was very sorry.
"I'm really sorry. All this mess because of me. I don't know how to compensate for all this damage."
Once again, Eve took a deep breath. "Well, you won't be able to compensate for all this damage with money. Even you may not have any money right now. However, there is one way to make up for all your mistakes."
I raised my face at that time too. I look for the joke on Eve's face. It looked like she was earnest and not joking.
"What should I do to make up for my mistake?"
