Chapter 54: Chapter 54
Two months had passed, I knew it, because every day I was busy counting the days. I wanted all this suffering to stop. My only hope was for a good days to come.
And from a distance I kept praying for him.
Days passed, did Barra miss me like every day I was thinking about him? It so cold when there wasn't his touch. My body ached for him.
Even though Haytham was always with me, I still couldn't deny that he couldn't give me the feeling and flying butterflies that Barra gave me.
It was not Haytham I wanted, then why does fate keep bringing me back to him when my heart has stopped elsewhere?
A few days ago, I went to sleep and had a dream, a very strange dream.
In that dream I met the real Jazzlin. She told me that it was her destiny to let my life live in her body, as a retribution for what she had done.
Her face was happier than when her soul was still alive. She left Barra for me, maybe Barra was my soul mate even though I had to be Jazzlin as long as I could.
It was just a dream but felt so damn real.
I told Haytham about it. He just believed me without comment. That man became more and more believers in unreasonable things lately. Was it because of me?
He got a big and burly body, but always became a geeky one when Alia got mad and asking for more chocolate cake.
I hope he would find a better life partner and someone who deserved him more than me.
His love was so sincere but sadly, that I could no longer repay it when I had given my sincerity to another man. My love could not be divided in two at once for two men, but I still cared so much about him as my best friend.
Suddenly I wanted to go to visit my own grave of my old-self.
Haytham and Alia apparently had the same wish. We decided to go together at that time, somehow it felt like my heart didn't flutter like the first time I saw my own grave.
The grave was well preserved, and the name Janielle Mckeen was still clearly plastered there. We had prepared a sprinkling of flowers there and we just sat there staring at the gravestone.
I felt strange because I missed my old body, but now a new chapter had opened for me.
Letting Janielle go and found a new identity as Jazzlin was not easy for me at the beginning, but the more I came, the more I had enjoyed the process.
"I let you have your time." Haytham said before he left. Alia sat still beside me. I hold her hand as she just staring at me.
She let her head leaned against my shoulder, "I'm glad I still have you." She whispered.
I chuckled, "And I'm glad I have my second chance to live."
She got up then her eyes was busy found out something.
I looked at where she threw her attention. My eyes widened as I grabbed her hand and walked to there.
I was hoping that I didn't see it wrong, because it was very clear that it was him. Barra was here.
I felt fully alive.
Panic assailed me as I saw he was with Haytham. They looked like not in a good terms.
My guess was right hit on target, they must be fighting again. Even though before they looked fine, then why did they change so quickly in the blink of an eye?
When we got closer to them, I gasped as the following gasp was by Alia.
I caught Barra's eyes that was already observing every inch of me. I didn't know what was on his head, but he let his face remained expressionless and just staring at me blankly.
His intense gaze gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling. It lifted my mood but also gave me a chill all over my body.
"I asked you, what the hell are you doing here?" Haytham grabbed him by the collar, just to made Barra staring at him sharply.
"Haytham!" I pulled him, then he took it off, enough to make me a little surprised.
"I came here to meet you." He said as he brushed aside the collar after Haytham's dirty hand touched it, "We need to talk."
He meant talking about my father, Jeremy Ozza. Man, I was not ready for this part. The last time I found out the truth about all his hatred for Jazzlin was when I was in a coma, then now Barra wanted me to meet him and explain all this?
"He needs to know, so he doesn't drag on in his hatred for his daughter on and on." He stopped then grabbed my shoulder, "Do you gonna let Jazzlin's spirit to be uneasy because her father hasn't forgiven him yet?"
"I still can see how precious she is for you, even after what happened." I answered that instead, making he released his grip and then cast his gaze at anything other than me.
"You don't need to hesitate to admit it, I also used to love Haytham very much. But, spending time with you made me realize that Haytham wasn't the man I wanted." I smiled when the track of his eyes stopped directly at my blue orbs.
"Your attitude is almost the same as Jazzlin." He laughed doubtfully, "You both like to get to the point, but how can you have the same character even you know all about her?"
Oh right, I forgot to tell him some stories.
"For that, all the memories of Jazzlin I found a moment I woke up in her body."
After my answer he nodded, "I also want to apologize for acting like a child." The sun shone on his face, giving off a beautiful glow. We were standing some distance from where Haytham's car was parked. Still in the cemetery area.
"I can imagine if I was in your position. Especially if Moorah knew anything more about you than I did, obviously I would be very angry." I told him what was in my mind and how my mind worked.
"So?" He asked. His eyebrow raised and a smile began to emanate from his attractive face. The flutter of wind made his hair fly and I couldn't help but to ruffling them.
"Oops." I stopped when his hand stopped mine then unexpectedly he held my hand.
"Forgive my stubbornness, but promise not to hide anything from me anymore." He said then his arms slipped to my waist, tugging me close.
My mouth opened like a fish, explaining how shocked I was. He smiled then brought his face closer, "If you can love me, then give me a reason why I can't love you when you're always there for me?"
Full of confusion with the meaning I just looked at him. I didn't hear wrong or I was just hallucinating earlier. I just couldn't believe him.
"I'm not kidding and you're not delirious either." He chuckled, making my cheeks heat up seeing his cute smile appear.
He cupped my face as I hold my breath for a second.
"I love you." He smiled. I couldn't help but smile back, "Hey, I'm waiting to hear it from you too."
I giggled, "I love you too." I said then hugged him, "I wish this one will be the last time we have a fight."
"Are you two gonna stand there until we got tired waiting here?" Haytham came over as his hands jammed in his pockets.
I rolled my eyes, but two minutes later I was shocked when Haytham gave his hand to shake Barra's.
"This will be our last fighting too." Haytham said as he smiled. I didn't know if it was a real one or... but, I just pushed aside my negative thoughts.
"Take care of her. This is your last chance." Haytham and Barra was sending each other a gaze and I was just gaping between them.
"Okay then, I'm hungry." Alia said as she tried to get Haytham's attention.
"Let's eat together." I said breaking the long silence. Barra put his arm around me and answered, "Let's go." Haytham was silent for a while before nodding then Alia took his hand.
We ended up eating together at one of the seafood restaurants, and I could tell you that we were still a little awkward. I sat beside Barra with Haytham sitting in front of me with Alia.
Sometimes I was joking around but no one responded except Alia's laugh. Looks like I just didn't fit into a comedian.
I was sure over time they would mingle soon. Both of them actually had good attitudes, but their prestige was too high, especially since the two of them used to hate each other.
I wanted to laugh seeing the way they were throwing sharp gaze while busy eating their own foods.
Haytham chewed his food with his gaze still not coming off Barra, then I looked to the side and found Barra smirking at him.
I couldn't help but to laugh loudly. Haytham's eyes were now focused on me, "There's nothing funny." He told me.
"She's always find anything funny." Barra replied.
Haytham huffed, "Well, now you should get along with it then."
"I'm fine with it." He patted my shoulder, "Because I love her."
Did Barra try to make Haytham pissed off again?!
"Good luck then." Haytham smirked as Barra covered his face with a poker face.
