Chapter 81: Chapter 81

"Don't run away and just stay here with me."

Cecilia let out a heavy sigh and try to escape from his embrace. However, Max hugged her more tightly, prevent her to move.

"I… can't breathe."

He flinched before release her from his embrace. But, when Cecilia realized, they already moved into different area. Not the Square's park, but an outdoor restaurant in the beach which have coconut trees line.

They were sitting in a white chair that facing each other. A brown wooden table was separated between of them.

If the situation was different, Cecilia will amazed with the breathtaking scenery.

The sky is so blue, without any cloud. Cecilia's black hair is dancing because of the wind. Not to mention, the smell of the salt water successfully cleansing her mind.

"What do you want to eat?" Max asked when he open the menu.

But, Cecilia tried to not carried away with his plan. "Sir, we are not supposed to be here. Can we go back?"

"Did you forgot my name already?" He clicked his tongue, clearly look annoyed when she treated him like a stranger.

"I'm not in the position where I can casually call your name, Sir."

Max closes the menu book, "At least, please look at me when you are talking with me."

"I refuse. We are talking using voice, not eye contact." She said and still looking at the sand under her shoes.

The only memories of the beach from her past as Ji Eun was when she in the middle school, doing school vacation.

It's not a pleasant one. But Cecilia realized that she can count the good memories from her past with two hands.

Seventeen years of Ji Eun's life was futile.

Cecilia feels that the six months of her new life is enough to make it up, and being greedy only lead her to devastation.

She used to be afraid of Black Cloud's punishment to burn in hell. But, now, she just can't take anymore for lying to everyone or drowning into bottomless guilty.

Rather than living in hell, she chooses to end it all.

Cecilia was deep in her thought. Failed to realized that Max's eyes was fixed on her.

He raised his right hand to call a waiter. They are in a different part of the world. A famous tropical island called Ligaya.

The time differences with Atrazal is about four hours.

That's why this restaurant isn't full booked because breakfast time already over.

Ligaya's official language is the same with Hongport, so Max find no difficulty to communicate

After write his order, the waiter left and Max stare at her without making any voice.

He never expected that their relationship will be turning into this mess.

He loves Cecilia. It's unchangeable fact.

However, if someone asked him the reason why. Max can't describe it.

Is it because her appearance?

Cecilia is indeed a beautiful girl. But, there are so many girls who prettier than her.

Then, what? Is it because her wealth? Kindness? Traits?

Max himself can't understand the clear reason. All he knows that she is so special for him. No one can touch his heart like Cecilia's do.

Not to mention, she is the one who lift his curse from Hark.

Oh, that lizard give us the blessing, Max thought to himself. I wonder what is that, since neither Cecilia nor I weren't changed at all.

The waiter came and put the food on their table. Along with two glasses of water.

Cecilia shifted her gaze to that young man who wear white shirt and black trouser. He was introducing the foods in the language she can't understand.

He left after bowed and Cecilia looked at the table.

The waiters give her something like black porridge along with a plate of small dried fish. Meanwhile, Max got fried rice with black meat and fried egg.

"Let's eat before we talk." He said while mixing his food with the spoon.

Cecilia can smell fried garlic savory scent from it. She was curious about the black meat. It's like that they cooked it with soy sauce.

"You want some?"

"No, thank you." She lied.

"It's so weird to see you refused the food."

Cecilia didn't answer and start focused on her food.

Out of her surprised, the black porridge turned out made from steamed sticky rice which melted in thick chocolate.

In Korean, sticky rice usually made as dessert such as rice cake or mochi.

The puffy, chewy, slightly sticky grains of sweet rice really threw her back to memories.

"Is it delicious?"

Cecilia nodded and smile faintly, "Yes. It's perfect for light breakfast."

Max feel satisfied with her honesty. "They called it as 'Champorado'."

"Champ… What?"

"You can eat that along with the fish."

Cecilia narrowed her brows. It was bizzare combination, but she knew that he didn't joke around.

Slowly, she put a dried fish on her spoonful of the porridge. All of her senses were tingling when she tasted it. The saltiness offsets the heavy sweetness of the porridge. And she likes the sensation.

"I thought you won't believe it." Max smirked when he saw her surprising face.

"Because you didn't lie."

He raised his brows and wondering why did she look so confident, "How?"

She shrugged, "I just know it."

Max stopped his movement and feel suspicious about it. Then he rose from the chair, "Please wait for a moment. I will be back in a moment."

Just like usual, he left before she answered.

Cecilia staring at beach before start stirring the porridge with uninterested look.

It's not like she wasn't dissatisfied. In other case, she is truly grateful. Even tough, this might be her last meal with Max.

She knew that he was being serious by asking her to stay at his side.

But, Duke Lancia doesn't as merciful as him.

Cecilia closed her eyes, picturing her public execution in the Square. Witnessing by a hundred people who threwing the stones and cursing her as a liar.

"That's a perfect ending for me." She whispered to herself.

Thirty minutes later, Cecilia start feeling worried because he still didn't come back to the restaurant.

But, something told her that she needs to wait him patiently.

And then, an hour later, he showed up.

But, Max isn't alone.

He is back with Holy Priest and Duke Lancia.
