Chapter 1629: Chapter 1629
While unleashing a barrage of piercing attacks, the War God Phobos gathered his divine power at the center of his chest, within his divine ember, charging it with as much power as he could.
With all his strength, he released it into a single explosive attack. The skies trembled as the mist and gray clouds cleared from the strike, which hit Maria's head.
An explosion followed, flames engulfing Maria entirely. Phobos smiled confidently, certain no one could survive such an attack easily.
Phobos gasped in disbelief and pain as Maria's hand grasped his arm, squeezing so tightly that his armor shattered into pieces.
His entire arm broke, torn from his shoulder. Blood splattered everywhere, and Phobos stared in awe.
The Olympian God screamed in horror, clutching his wound, which wouldn't stop bleeding. His face filled with the fear he should have inflicted on others...
Maria didn't let him recover. She kicked him into the dark blue waters, his body crashing into the sea, causing a tsunami that flooded nearby forests.
Phobos leaped out of the water, transformed into a man of red and black flames. His pale white skin turned bronze, his long black hair became red, and his eyes glowed gold.
With a furious roar, Phobos's Aura erupted with power. Dozens of gigantic fists pummeled Maria repeatedly.
Maria countered with her own phantasmal fists. Explosions of phantasmal energy and war flames lit the skies with red and azure light.
BAAM! BAAM! BAAM! BAAM!
Their attacks generated shockwaves, making the Spiritual Realm tremble. The inhabitants panicked, hiding inside their houses as Maria's Undead fought part of Phobos's army, which he had sent to eliminate them.
"Unfortunately, I cannot say you're half bad. You're outright terrible."
Maria stopped the barrage with a swift slap to Phobos's face, destroying his helmet. His eyes widened in disbelief as her hand pierced his chest.

He vomited blood, feeling Maria grasp his beating heart and the divine ember within it. His trembling hands reached for her arm, his face filled with horror.
"S-Stop...! Stop...! Don't you dare...! If you kill me... you will become Olympus's enemy! They will hunt you down no matter what! My father... my uncle...! They will-"
"Good. I was going to fight them all eventually anyway. Might as well get their attention to make things smoother."
Phobos stood in disbelief as Maria tore out his heart and divine ember, consuming them before him as life drained from his eyes.
"Hm, your Divine Ember was not half bad! Congratulations, you rose from a nobody to a fine snack. Goodbye."
Maria kicked his head, shattering his skull. His soul broke apart, and his body fell to the nearby forest, a complete mess.
She approached his corpse, deciding not to waste it. She covered it in her tears, transforming it into a headless Nightmare Undead with a few soul fragments.
"I stitched some of your soul pieces with other souls and ghosts from this place. You'll be forever tied to the people you killed and made suffer. Now you'll protect this place. Do you love the idea or what?"
Maria tried to pat his head, but he had none, so she pulled her hand back.
She looked at the war. The portals vanished the moment Phobos died, and she couldn't reopen them. Perhaps that was for the best.
The army of Bronze Soldiers, Horses, and Giants perished quickly, thanks to Maria's Undead Army and her Family members devastating them.
She felt slightly annoyed they were incompatible as Undead, as they were just metal with souls that fled once the soldiers died.
She tried to force some souls back into the golem bodies using her powers, but they exploded under the pressure.
"Huh, I have no idea how they make these things... Did one of them say they were created by someone called 'Hephaestus' or something? That's really interesting."
For now, Maria returned to the village after scavenging rare materials. She left most of the soldiers' remains for the people.
They were made of valuable metals and materials, so the villagers could sell them for system points to heal their world.
At the same time, they seemed weak, so if the villagers forged new armor and kept the magical spears and shields, it would help.
"Hello, we're back!" Maria said, greeting the Elder. "I assume things went alright?"
"Y-Yes! We heard him! His scream! I cannot believe you beat him so easily! He made us suffer so much! A-And yet you just killed him?!" the Elder said, flabbergasted.
"Well, yes, it wasn't that hard... in fact, it was super easy," Maria shrugged. "Those idiots at Olympus shouldn't let weak gods wander the lower floors. Are they really that confident someone strong won't find and kill them?"
"I-I mean... not really..." the Elder muttered. "Ahem! But anyway, thank you so much for what you've done! You are our great savior!"
"Even if you're a little scary..."
"You are a little scary, but thanks..."
"Will these Undead leave us?"
"Please tell them to leave... they're really scaring me!"
The people thanked Maria while asking her to make the Undead leave, as they feared these creatures more than the invaders.
"Okay, okay, they're leaving, calm down," Maria sighed.
Her shadows spread, and the Undead jumped inside one by one. A headless, muscular giant stepped forward and stayed, scaring everyone again.
"W-What is that thing now?!" the Elder asked.
"This is Phobos. I turned him into an undead to protect your Realm," Maria said. "Sorry if he's too scary. I blew up his head because I didn't want to look at his handsome face."
"A-Ah... I see... W-Wait, you mean to leave him here?!" the Elder asked. "To protect us?! There's no need!"
"No need? You'll get invaded by the upper floors again if I don't do something," Maria said. "Anyway, it's over, yet everything still feels as miserable as ever. What's wrong? Where are all the spirits?"
"Ahem... Well... uh," the Elder said awkwardly.
