Chapter 70: Chapter 70
And Dylan’s fans firmly believed that the relationship between Quinn Lockwood and Elias Sinclair was a confirmed fact, launching a torrential online criticism against Quinn.
Quinn already didn’t have many fans, and with the fervent support of Dylan’s hardcore fans, the internet was practically overtaken, with a large amount of derogatory remarks about Quinn.
Dylan was at home working out, and felt quite uncomfortable when he saw this news. Follow current novels on novel_fіre.net
Although he wasn’t clear about the situation between Quinn and Elias, he felt it was none of his business to interfere, and certainly not something that warranted such a commotion and judgment.
Moreover, having worked with Quinn in the same crew previously, he could tell from their daily banter that she wasn’t the kind of person described by his fans.
He felt guilty that Quinn was bearing such unwarranted criticism because of him.
Thinking it over, Dylan picked up his phone and gathered his courage to post a message on X regarding Quinn.
The post on X clearly stated, "Private matters are none of our business, the truth is not always what it seems. I hope fans from all sides cease this war and stop tarnishing their idols."
The message was clear, he was speaking up for Quinn, and also advising his own fans not to comment irresponsibly on situations they weren’t aware of, because the consequences would fall on him.
Once this was posted, fans exploded in commotion, as Dylan had never spoken up for anyone before, not even making any comment when he was mistreated by his agency and fans urged him to switch to a different company.
Now, however, it was for Quinn.
Dylan’s manager was surprised to see the post, immediately contacted him, "What’s going on? How could you post such a protective message so impulsively?"
The manager felt overwhelmed; the company was already troubled by the news about Quinn, and now their own artist was adding to the tension.
Despite everyone noticing Quinn’s changes, now was not the time for him to speak up.
"I’ll handle it," Dylan assured seriously before hanging up, at least for now, he still had the freedom to do what he wanted.
Seeing the crude remarks his fans made about Quinn, Dylan felt a bit apologetic. He didn’t want this incident to create a rift in their recently mended relationship, so he called Quinn.
"Dylan, what’s up?" Quinn was just finishing her packing, getting ready to head out to the agency.
"Savannah, I’m sorry, my fans didn’t understand the situation, and I apologize for the hurt they’ve caused you," Dylan said sincerely, in an unusually earnest tone.
"It’s nothing, I didn’t take it to heart. You don’t need to apologize to me. It clearly shows your fans genuinely love you," Quinn said nonchalantly, even teasing Dylan.
Hearing Quinn’s mood wasn’t really bad, she indeed didn’t care much, and why would she? She’s the Savannah Lowell, never one to be concerned with such matters.
"Stop joking with me, honestly, I still feel bad. How about I invite you to dinner tonight, as a gesture of sincerity," Dylan waited expectantly for Quinn’s reply.
Upon hearing this, Quinn fell silent, contemplating whether getting closer to Dylan was a good idea or if it was better to keep some distance.
"What, not giving me face?" Dylan felt unsure when Quinn didn’t respond for a while; maybe she did have some resentment?
"Alright, you decide the place."
After thinking it over, Quinn agreed, partly because she didn’t want Dylan to feel guilty, and also because she had some issues in her new script she wanted to consult him about.
Quinn had just walked out of the Lowell Family’s gate and saw Elias Sinclair leaning against his car, the sunlight shining against his straight suit, making him indeed look quite charming.
Quinn inadvertently was drawn to him, quickly snapping back to reality.
Seeing his calm demeanor, it seemed he was waiting for someone.
But Quinn never thought narcissistically that he was waiting for her, so she took a deep breath and walked straight past Elias.
"I want to talk to you," Elias called out to Quinn as she had just walked past him.
Quinn stopped, looking at him with confusion; turns out he really was waiting for her.
Actually, without him saying anything, she knew he was there for today’s morning news. Every time he thought she was acting, surely he’s here to issue another warning.
Rather than him sarcastically reminding her not to disgrace the Sinclair Family, she might as well speak up first.
After gathering her thoughts, Quinn tidied her clothes, turned around, and straightforwardly said, "I have nothing to explain about the morning news. I already warned you at the hospital before; it’s your rash actions that led to this bad outcome."
She had made it clear that day, that going out would be photographed, but Elias took Chloe without a word, leaving her with no choice but to follow.
Being exposed now wasn’t entirely her fault.
Hearing this, Elias raised his eyebrows, never expecting to be misunderstood; he indeed was here to see her, but not for the morning news.
Originally unconcerned, Elias suddenly felt a bit annoyed seeing Quinn’s attitude; did he come across as someone who only mocked and ridiculed?
"So are you blaming me?" Elias frowned and spoke seriously.
"No, just hoping you’ll be more cautious in the future."
Quinn deliberately slowed down her speech for the last four words, gave Elias a sarcastic smile, then quickly regained her calm expression.
"You tacitly agreed to that day’s events." Elias’s face darkened, though he was the one who took Chloe out that day, she didn’t stop him and went along.
"In any case, the criticism now is directed at me." Quinn said defiantly, her expression gradually growing less pleased.
Every time she’s with Elias, nothing good happened; it seems she’s better off keeping her distance, yet he approached her instead.
"I’m a victim too," Elias insisted, merely wanting to let Quinn know that it wasn’t a matter of right or wrong, it was purely coincidental.
Now, he couldn’t quite understand Quinn anymore.
Upon hearing this, Quinn was at a loss for words, thinking about it and realizing he might be right, and there was no point in saying more.
The air was filled with an awkward tension.
However, his intent to argue wasn’t as obvious as before.
After a while, Quinn still didn’t react, whatever she was thinking, it was Elias who eventually broke the silence, "Grandpa asked me to tell you to come to the Sinclair Family’s old house for dinner tonight."
Quinn paused, then realized she might have misunderstood.
She hadn’t visited him despite his return, consistently refusing Elias’s request to pass along her words that she wouldn’t be going back. Surely grandpa must feel saddened.
