Chapter 320: Chapter 320
The late autumn weather had already begun to turn bleak. Gusts of cold wind swept away the withered yellow leaves, leaving the ginkgo trees at the street corner bare.
"Brr, it’s really cold." Quinn Lockwood shuddered involuntarily as she changed into a short-sleeved school uniform and skirt, stepping out of the dressing room.
With the sound of "action," Quinn Lockwood instantly slipped into character.
A cold wind blew, and in just a few seconds, Quinn felt chilled to the bone, her teeth chattering uncontrollably.
"Savannah Lowell, she hasn’t started kicking yet. Don’t tremble, your mindset should be resilient right now." The assistant director spoke to Quinn Lockwood through a megaphone.
"Okay, sorry, director." Quinn sniffled, her arms and legs turning a bit red from the cold.
"Cut. Let’s do it again."
"Cut. This take won’t do. Makeup artist, quickly touch up Savannah Lowell’s makeup."
Not sure how many takes had failed, Quinn was nearly unable to endure the cold.
Her arms and legs were bright red, her lips trembling uncontrollably.
A man’s coat, scented with high-end cologne, was draped over her.
Quinn turned her head and met Mikael’s deep, amber-colored eyes.
"Thank you." Quinn tugged at the coat. She was simply too cold to bother with any formalities about wearing another man’s coat. ᴛhis chapter is ᴜpdated by NoveI[F]ire.net
"All right, all departments ready for the second shoot." With Quentin Woods’ voice, the crew began the second shoot.
To immerse herself in the role quickly, Quinn Lockwood braved the cold by recalling the scenes of being bullied and mocked by classmates in her childhood. The sense of despair and helplessness swept over her.
At this moment, Quinn was Mia Jacobs, and Mia Jacobs was Quinn.
"Okay, cut! Very good." Director Quentin Woods nodded appreciatively at the camera screen.
The result was far better than he had imagined.
Hearing Director Woods’ praise, Quinn felt happy, turning around to give Mikael a victory sign.
Mikael responded with a blink and picked up his coat to drape it over her shoulders.
Next came the shooting of some supporting roles. After the morning’s shooting was completed, it was time for a lunch break.
Several members of the crew gathered, chatting and laughing while eating lunch boxes, complaining about the producer’s and director’s strictness.
Mikael came over with a paper bag of snacks, sitting beside Quinn.
"I just went outside to buy snacks, they’re still warm." Mikael looked at Quinn, his eyes showing a gentle light.
"Thank you." Quinn pressed her lips together, softly speaking to Mikael.
Whenever there was shooting, Mikael would go several streets away at noon to a bakery to buy Quinn her favorite snacks.
Although Quinn had mentioned at least ten times that Mikael needn’t bother, whenever she refused, Mikael would immediately become sullen, sitting silently beside her.
Just as Quinn took the snack, her phone rang in her pocket.
"Savannah, I’m almost at your set’s entrance. I can’t get in, please come help me." Xenia Monroe’s tone was a bit anxious, breathing heavily, clearly having rushed over.
"I’m coming to get you right away." Quinn quickly got up, racing towards the set entrance.
As soon as she opened the door, Quinn indeed saw Xenia Monroe.
She stood wearily by the roadside, her chest heaving heavily.
"Savannah, please help..." Xenia’s steps faltered; she was clearly out of strength from the run.
Quinn quickly went over to support her. Just as she touched Xenia’s hand, the small girl on the opposite side slumped over.
"Sierra, Sierra!" Quinn was stunned, turning to see if anyone nearby could help.
However, just as she turned her head, she was pulled down to the ground, and the fainted Xenia was lifted by a tall and sturdy man.
"Leo Hansen? Let go of Xenia!" Quinn quickly got up from the ground when she saw Leo Hansen roughly pulling Xenia.
"It’s none of your business!" Leo glared at Quinn with malice, his face flashing with a hint of menace.
Quinn was just about to snatch Xenia back when Mikael pulled her behind him.
"Trust me with her." Mikael’s voice was slightly low and seductive, exuding an air of reliability.
Although Leo Hansen was considered tall and strong compared to the average person, he was somewhat weaker in front of Mikael, who had European ancestry and constantly worked out with strength training.
With one move, Mikael restrained Leo Hansen’s arm, his foot held against Leo’s chest.
With Mikael protecting Xenia, Leo quickly found an opening and broke free from Mikael’s grip.
"You’ve got guts." Leo spat on the ground, his face flushed with anger as veins popped out.
Unable to contend with Mikael, Leo had no choice but to grumpily retreat.
"Sierra, Sierra, wake up." Quinn hurried over to support Xenia, seeing her pale face and tear-marked eyes, her heart twisted with worry.
"I’m so tired, Lowell." Xenia slowly opened her eyes, glancing at Quinn before her eyelids drooped again.
Mikael placed his fingers under Xenia’s nose, checking her breath. After assessing her condition, his serious expression softened a bit.
"She’s fine, just too exhausted and needs to rest immediately." Mikael glanced at Quinn, surveyed the surroundings, searching for a place where Xenia could rest.
"Could you please take Xenia to the lounge? I’ll take her home after shooting." Quinn asked, her brows furrowed with concern, her pretty face earnest.
"Of course. A friend of Miss Angel is a friend of mine." Mikael’s lips curled into a slight smile as he reached over to carry Xenia, cradling her in his arms.
Mikael laid Xenia on the lounge sofa, and seeing her sleeping soundly, Quinn breathed a sigh of relief.
Eager to finish filming and take Xenia back, Quinn blocked out distractions, immersing herself into her role seriously.
In less than two hours, she successfully completed three segments.
After greeting the director, Quinn changed her clothes and headed to the lounge.
Before she reached the door, she heard the sound of an argument inside.
"You’re not even part of the crew. How dare you argue?"
