Chapter 315: Chapter 315
"Savannah Lowell, what’s going on with you?" Joyce Kramer approached with her arms crossed, her eyebrows knitted tightly like willow leaves.
"I can’t get into the mood. I’m not used to having too many people watching besides the film crew when I’m shooting." Quinn Lockwood’s tone was a bit unhappy, subtly hinting to Joyce Kramer that she should leave the filming set.
Quinn was already feeling a bit upset, but she couldn’t understand why seeing Joyce only made her feel more agitated.
Joyce obviously heard the implication in Quinn’s words, her eyebrows furrowing deeper with anger as she accused, "Are you joking? As a star, being filmed and watched is completely normal. In your current state, I can only say you never intended to shoot properly."
"Don’t think just because you’ve signed the contract that I can’t replace you. We, as the client, always have the right to replace uncooperative artists."
Joyce raised her chin, looking at Quinn Lockwood, assuming the authority of a person in charge.
Great, she was just worrying about how to prevent Quinn Lockwood from filming.
"Oh, replacing me? That’s wonderful." Quinn’s eyes lit up as she raised her eyebrows and laughed from her chair.
"But I’m not being uncooperative, I’m just not in the right state. If your company wants to terminate, you’d have to pay a penalty, right?"
"How many times the penalty? Oh right, ten times, that would be 18 million!"
Quinn smacked her lips together and raised her hand as if to count money, her eyes sparkling with small stars.
"Savannah Lowell, you..." Joyce took a few quick steps forward, her eyes filled with anger.
At this moment, a cold and commanding voice emerged from the back of the studio.
"Who gave you the courage to make decisions on your own?" Elias Sinclair, dressed in a dark blue tailored suit, his handsome and pale features radiating sharpness.
"Sir, I..." Joyce Kramer’s face instantly turned pale, biting her lip pitifully as she looked at Elias Sinclair.
"Step back." The man, with a cold expression, did not look at Joyce Kramer, instead, his gaze was fixed on Quinn Lockwood.
"Go bring the black coffee imported from Kenyara to Miss Lowell for a boost. We will continue filming soon." Elias gestured for the assistant to leave.
Hearing Elias’s voice, Quinn was momentarily paralyzed, her expression frozen, her heart unknowingly racing.
"You, why are you here?" Quinn blushed slightly, asking softly.
"To supervise the filming progress, ensuring I don’t have to pay you over 18 million in penalties."
Elias sat in the director’s chair, looking at the slightly awkward Quinn, a faint smile playing on his lips.
Hearing Elias’s teasing about the penalty, Quinn lost her composure and rolled her eyes at him.
When the assistant brought coffee and snacks, Quinn was resting on the nearby seat, her gaze sweeping towards the direction where Joyce Kramer stood.
"Sir, the CEO of Crestview Corp said they want to discuss the contract renewal for the second half of the year later. Do you plan on going to sign?" Joyce nodded, speaking while glancing occasionally towards Quinn’s direction.
"Kevin can go sign it." The man subtly furrowed his brow, speaking in a deep, cool tone.
Quinn lowered her eyes and took a small sip of the coffee, smacking her lips together unconsciously.
The scale of Crestview Corp is neither too big nor too small; is it necessary for Elias, the chairman, to personally go for a contract renewal?
It seems Secretary Kramer doesn’t want Elias to supervise her here.
Tsk tsk tsk, Quinn sniffed the air, vaguely catching a whiff of jealousy.
It’s no surprise that Secretary Kramer always alludes to her in sarcasm. After all this time, Quinn has grown accustomed to the thinly veiled taunts from those infatuated with Elias.
Perhaps because Elias was present, during the shoot, besides the sound of machinery running, there was no other noise that could disrupt Quinn’s state.
When filming concluded, Joyce approached Quinn with a script and contract in hand, intending to discuss post-production payments.
Seeing the faint joy and relaxation on Joyce’s face, Quinn’s clear eyes narrowed slightly, a glimmer of sharpness passing through.
Joyce has mocked her so many times; this time, she couldn’t let her leave so smugly.
Quinn turned away, pretending not to see Joyce, but as soon as she raised her head, she met Elias’s deep eyes shimmering with allure.
"After earning me so much money, aren’t you treating us?" The man raised an eyebrow, his voice clear and gentle.
Quinn pouted, about to decline, only to notice Joyce walking over to her side.
"Miss Lowell..." Joyce picked up the contract, ready to discuss the subsequent details with Quinn, only to find her heading towards Elias.
"Of course I’ll treat. But are you coming?" Quinn grabbed Elias’s hand, playfully shaking it a couple of times.
Elias paused momentarily, surprised as he watched Quinn, but the curve of his lips deepened.
The man got up, allowing Quinn to lead him by the hand, directly saying, "Of course, I’ll go."
"So, where should we go? How about The Scarlinne Restaurant? I’ve heard their soups are particularly delicious." Quinn wrapped her arm around Elias’s, her voice soft and sweet.
"Alright." Elias beamed warmly at Quinn, giving a gentle nod.
Quinn squinted her eyes, leaning her head lightly against Elias for a moment, then glanced sideways at Joyce with a subtle, enigmatic smile on her lips.
Little missy, after being arrogant for so long, if I don’t give you a hard time this round, I’ll write my name backward.
Joyce stood frozen, her fingertips icy as she watched this scene unfold.
Sir didn’t shake her off, sir looked at Quinn so gently!
This woman must be a vixen; how could a man like Mr. Sinclair be taken by such a foolish woman unless she’s a reincarnated vixen, capable of enchanting people! Check latest chapters at ɴovelfire.net
Joyce clenched her trembling hands to prevent her emotions from spiraling out of control, her face sullen as she turned away towards another direction.
Quinn glanced obliquely at Joyce’s direction, seeing her hold back and not look back this way, she slowly released Elias’s hand.
As the man watched Quinn, his expression was about to undergo a slight change when Quinn curved her lips into a smile and said, "Um, could I invite Xenia Monroe over? She mentioned wanting to meet a few people skilled in cinematography."
