Chapter 275: Chapter 275

Brought back a few delicate stir-fried dishes home, Quinn Lockwood was evidently a little disappointed.

"Sure enough, it’s not good once brought back. It’s all Wade Lynch’s fault." She put a piece of green bamboo shoot into her mouth, chewed it violently a couple of times, and complained angrily.

"Are you two very close?" Elias Sinclair asked with a sharp tone, lifting his eyes slightly to look at the woman opposite him.

"Not really, he helped me resolve a few scandal issues a couple of times."

"Of course, I also spent a lot of money." Quinn picked up another piece of green bamboo shoot. Thinking about the nearly a million dollars piled on Wade’s back, she felt a pang in her liver.

How could there be such greedy and black-hearted people in this world!

Since Quinn’s foot injury had fully recovered, her agency naturally began arranging her upcoming schedule.

Anna told Quinn that the editor of Dynasty Style Magazine wanted to invite her again to shoot a magazine column themed around female assassins.

Quinn certainly wouldn’t refuse. Dynasty Style, a well-known historical-themed magazine in the country, had a high reputation in the circle.

Although the magazine had been criticized by the renowned photographer Ethan, given Quinn’s current status, Dynasty Style was the top choice.

"Be at the company by seven tomorrow. The person in charge of this shoot from Dynasty Style will come to pick you up. Don’t be late." Anna advised Quinn over the phone.

Her biggest worry was Quinn’s punctuality; after all, Savannah Lowell had previously messed up a lot of good resources by deliberately being late and acting like a diva.

"Got it, I’ll be on time." Slightly pouting, Quinn replied faintly.

The next day, Quinn got up early.

The first reason was that she really didn’t want to be late, and the second was that she was finally able to work again after so many days, and was too excited to sleep.

Sometimes Quinn wondered if she was destined to be tirelessly busy, as she felt uncomfortable all over whenever she had nothing to do.

As Quinn went downstairs to have breakfast, she saw Elias Sinclair sitting at the dining table.

"Good morning, madam." The servants nodded and greeted Quinn, then someone brought up breakfast.

Quinn sat across from Elias, offering a light smile and saying, "Morning."

Since Elias always left early in the morning, Quinn seldom saw him in the mornings, and rarely had breakfast with him at home.

"Morning," Elias responded lightly, taking a sip of the coffee in front of him.

If Quinn had paid a little more attention, she would have noticed that Elias was drinking the same pure black coffee she had every morning.

Looking up at the clock on the wall, Quinn realized it was already half-past six.

After a few bites of her sandwich and downing the coffee in front of her, Quinn grabbed her phone beside her and said to Elias, "I’m running late, gotta go. Take your time eating, okay?"

After Quinn left, Elias looked at the opposite seat and the half-eaten sandwich on the plate, his brows slightly furrowed, then he put down his fork.

Quinn arrived at the company ten minutes early.

The person in charge from Dynasty Style explained the shooting plan and the selection of the outdoor location to Quinn in the meeting room.

After Quinn and Anna had no objections, the two sides signed the contract for the shoot.

Since it was a female assassin theme, the scene was set at a desolate and bleak cliffside.

To ensure absolute safety, the crew spent hours setting up the scenery and checking the solidity of the surrounding rock walls several times.

After Quinn changed into her costume, the photographer conducted a few simple test shots.

While the photographer was clicking away, a man in the distance wearing a black baseball cap and black mask was also quietly taking photos with a camera.

"Alright, test shooting over, let’s start the main shoot." The director of the shooting crew clapped the board, signaling the crew to prepare.

The stylist came forward to adjust Quinn’s outfit. Unlike other stylists, this one paid particular attention to adjusting the costumes, their hands lingering over Quinn’s body for a good while.

Although Quinn disliked being overly touched, considering it was a magazine shoot, attention to costuming was necessary.

Wade Lynch flipped through the photos on his camera, feeling something was off about that stylist, as their posture when fixing Quinn’s clothes seemed like they were testing how to push her off the cliff.

Adjusting the zoom on his camera, Wade pulled out a work badge from his jacket, pressed down his cap, and walked toward where Quinn was shooting. Follow current novels on novel·fire.net

Because he held a professional camera and wore a badge, the photography crew thought he was a new intern learning on the job.

After getting her outfit adjusted, Quinn walked to the edge of the cliff, feeling a bit dizzy with just a glance.

Oh my gosh, it’s so high.

If she fell, at best she’d end up crippled, if not dead.

Though the photography crew had done comprehensive safety measures, Quinn still stayed extremely alert, to avoid accidentally slipping.

"Alright, raise the sword, and be careful."

The moment the words fell, a young woman in purple robes was already raising a sharp sword, her gaze fierce and filled with murderous intent as she looked ahead, like a merciless cold-blooded killer.

As the photographer’s words fell, the stylist approached with props yet again.

"Oh dear." The photographer, holding a makeup box, seemed to trip over something, lunging directly toward Quinn.

"Watch out!" Wade tossed his camera to the ground, rushed forward a couple of steps, and pulled Quinn away.

"What are you doing pushing her?" Wade pulled Quinn away from the cliffside, casting a fierce glare at the stylist.

He had seen clearly, there was nothing like a stone to trip over, even if the wind was strong, no one should tumble out of nowhere.

"What—how are you here?" Quinn clutched her chest, looking pale as she stared at Wade, clearly still in shock.

"If I wasn’t here, you’d be dead. From the start of the outfit adjustments, I felt something was wrong. He’s constantly looking for the best angle to push you off." Wade’s face instantly turned harsh and cold, as he walked over and tore off the stylist’s badge.

"What are you doing? You’re not part of our crew, are you? Who sent you to cause trouble?" The stylist, though a bit angered, dodged Wade’s gaze back and forth, not daring to meet his eyes.

"I’m indeed not from your company, but I’m not here to cause trouble; I’m here to stop you from committing murder."

"Eugene Lowell, is it? Based on your badge, you seem new to Dynasty Style. Who knew Dynasty Style was such a casual magazine, letting a newcomer be a main stylist so soon after joining."
