Chapter 246: Chapter 246
Quinn Lockwood, worried that Boss Sinclair might feel awkward being alone, decided to sit next to him since there weren’t any other seats available.
"Use my card." The man tilted his head slightly to glance at Quinn, then pulled out a Centurion Black Card from his suit pocket and handed it to her.
"What are you doing? I don’t need it!" Quinn pouted and quickly pushed Elias Sinclair’s hand away, causing the card to fall onto the table with a clatter.
The room fell silent. Everyone looked at the global black card on the table and the small interaction between Elias and Quinn, their eyes widening before they tactfully pretended to continue chatting.
It was as if they hadn’t seen anything, as if nothing had happened at all.
Quinn grabbed the black card, trying to give it back to Elias, but he sat there, solemnly, completely ignoring her.
Rolling her eyes exaggeratedly, Quinn had no choice but to slip the card into her pocket.
Since it was free money, she might as well use it, especially since she wasn’t the one who insisted on booking the entire second floor!
With everyone getting along so harmoniously, the producers and directors ordered a lot of drinks, insisting everyone must get drunk before leaving.
The group members were young and lively, making the room’s atmosphere very vibrant and noisy. Dıscover more novels at novel[f]ire.net
"Savannah, I toast to you. I really did have a prejudice against you before, so I apologize!" said a supporting actress holding her glass up to Quinn.
Her cheeks were flushed, clearly from having quite a bit to drink.
"Me too. I need to apologize to Savannah as well. I even talked bad about you in forum posts before!" Another extra wearing glasses raised his glass to Quinn.
Quinn smiled confidently, then filled her glass with great generosity, saying, "Oh, it’s nothing, nothing. Everyone’s had their turn at criticizing me; it’s all in the past now."
"I’ll finish mine, you take your time." Clearly in a good mood, Quinn stood and downed a full glass of wine in one go.
Elias frowned slightly and then placed a napkin in front of Quinn.
"Thank you." Wiping her lips, Quinn hadn’t even started eating when waves of toasts followed one after another.
"Savannah, I also toast to you. Your acting is really impressive. I hope we have the chance to work together again." Director Chandler was about to lift his glass but was stopped by Quinn raising her voice.
"Director Chandler, please don’t. You’re too kind; it should be me toasting you."
Holding her glass, Quinn walked over to Director Chandler’s side, seriously saying, "This drink is for you, thanking you for all your care and guidance."
With a slight nod of thanks, Quinn drank her glass in one go and then poured a second one.
"Here’s to hoping ’The Dust Calamity’ will be a ratings hit!" But just as Quinn was about to refill her glass, a strong hand gripped her wrist.
Quinn was apparently slightly drunk, her fair and delicate face blooming with a hint of red. When she turned her head up, she found herself gazing into Elias Sinclair’s deep, night-like eyes.
"I’ll do it." The man took the glass from Quinn’s hand and drank it all.
"With Mr. Sinclair and Savannah, I’m sure the ratings will explode." The director awkwardly but politely said, standing up with a smile.
The staff exchanged glances, seeming somewhat uneasy.
For a few moments, they stood there dumbfounded, then chimed in with the director.
"Here’s to explosive ratings!"
"Just drinking is no fun, let’s play some games!" Quinn pulled away from Elias’s hand, took back her glass, and returned to her seat.
"Let’s play ’Clap on Seven.’ You can’t say the numbers seven or multiples of seven. Everyone knows this, right?"
"Lynn, start with you." With her arm propped on the table, Quinn was clearly getting into the drinking spirit.
Everyone glanced at Elias Sinclair, seeing him watching Quinn expressionlessly, a subtle look of something indescribable in his eyes.
Well, these are their affairs, no need for them to worry. This is likely the last time everyone will gather, so it’s best to just enjoy!
Quinn, naturally lively and playful, had restrained her nature due to Savannah Lowell’s identity and circumstances. But today, with the influence of alcohol, she was fully letting herself go.
"No cheating allowed, come on, three glasses for punishment." With rosy cheeks, Quinn led the group in laughter and games, like a child leading the pack.
Elias Sinclair found nothing wrong with Quinn.
He actually found it amusing, never expecting this woman to have such a lively and adorable side.
The group played until midnight before the gathering ended.
"Goodbye Director Chandler, goodbye Lynn, goodbye Chester Thornton..." Quinn swayed unsteadily at the door as she watched the crew’s bus leave.
Elias followed behind her, frowning slightly.
Suddenly surrounded by a soft fragrance and warmth, Quinn was leaning against his embrace with her eyes slightly lowered.
"Hmm... I want a hug." She murmured softly, rubbing her cheek against his chest in a childish tone.
Elias’s long figure seemed to pause for a moment, then he lowered his eyes to look at the woman clinging to him.
With alcohol coloring her already delicate face, she looked strikingly beautiful, with the gentle flutter of her hair in the breeze.
Gently tucking her hair behind her ear, Elias swiftly picked her up and headed to the car.
"Put me down, I want to go home, you bad guy!" Quinn pouted, resisting briefly before falling silent, seemingly exhausted.
"We’ll go home soon." Despite his serious demeanor, Elias gently placed Quinn in the passenger seat, slowly adjusting the seat for her comfort.
"Go home, go home." She mumbled softly while lying down, soon turning over and falling into a peaceful sleep.
With eyes dark as night, betraying no emotion, Elias took off his coat and draped it over Quinn, driving smoothly back to The Sinclair Residence.
Carrying her back to the room, Elias was about to go downstairs to pour some honey water when he was unexpectedly embraced from behind.
"Don’t go, don’t go... You left your coat here, hehe." Quinn tugged Elias back, shutting the door with a thud.
Elias squinted his eyes slightly, a flicker of emotion showing as he looked at the flushed woman before him.
"Here’s your coat!" Quinn said, chuckling as she staggered to the bed to pick up Elias’s blazer.
Her steps were terribly unsteady, and Elias, worried she might fall, stepped forward to support her, only for her small hand to hold onto his.
