Chapter 234: Chapter 234

After Elias Sinclair went to the pharmacy with the doctor to get the medicine, he immediately returned to the ward to stay by Quinn Lockwood’s side with Cameron Grant.

The two men sat by the bed with somber expressions, watching over Quinn without exchanging any words.

Because the doctor had warmed Quinn’s stomach and feet with a moxibustion pack and supplemented her with some nutrients, her complexion had improved significantly, and she no longer looked so pained.

It was as though she’d experienced a long, long dream, where Elias Sinclair furrowed his brow, pinning her against the wall with a force that seemed like he’d crush her shoulders.

The man looked at her with disdain, as if she’d done something unforgivable, then suddenly lifted her chin and said coldly, "Quinn Lockwood, you really are a superb actress. I can’t believe I never saw through your identity."

Then, the man violently threw Quinn to the ground and left without looking back.

She jolted awake, covered in cold sweat, her heart pounding as if it would leap from her chest; seeing Elias Sinclair’s slightly worried yet handsome face beside her, she let out a sigh of relief.

Thankfully, it was just a dream...

"How are you feeling?"

"Savannah, you’re awake. Does your stomach still hurt?"

The two men at her bedside almost simultaneously asked Quinn, glancing at each other indifferently before turning their gaze back to her.

"I feel much better, warm all over, and my body feels relieved," Quinn said, touching her abdomen. When she felt the heated moxibustion pack, she came to understand.

No wonder she smelled a faint scent of herbal medicine.

After calling the doctor to examine Quinn again, the doctor advised that she should take care of herself, rest regularly, take her medication on time, supplement nutrition, and avoid painkillers if possible. They could use moxibustion as a physiotherapy method to relieve abdominal pain.

The doctor also reminded Elias to cherish his wife and told him that in Quinn’s case, it might take six months to a year of conditioning before she could conceive more easily. Then, the doctor went to settle the payment.

"Savannah, sleep a little more. We’ll go home later," Cameron fondly tapped Quinn’s nose, his expression gentle, unlike his cold indifference when facing Nina Sinclair.

Quinn nodded. After spending a few days with The Sinclair Family, constantly pestered by Nina Sinclair and Freya Caldwell, she was exhausted and fed up.

"No, come back home with me to The Sinclair Family," Elias said decisively, his voice cool and unquestionable, laced with a hint of expectation.

Cameron tightly furrowed his brow, looking at Elias with increasing displeasure. Before he could say anything further, that cool voice resounded again: "Grandpa just called to ask about your condition. If you don’t come back with me, I’m afraid he’ll worry too much."

Quinn initially wanted to refuse Elias, but if she didn’t go back, Grandpa would surely be very worried.

Moreover, she had promised Grandpa Sinclair she would stay for a while. It had only been three days; if she returned to the Lowell Family , Grandpa would be heartbroken... Thɪs chapter is updatᴇd by N0v3l.Fiɾe.net

"Alright, I’ll go back with you." Quinn nodded at Elias, then lowered her gaze, apologetically looking at Cameron Grant.

Strangely, she didn’t want to go back to The Sinclair Family, but now, going with Elias, she didn’t feel as resistant—perhaps, even somewhat happy...

If Elias looked closely, he might detect the faint hint of a smile hidden in Quinn’s eyes...

Cameron nodded slightly, his gentle eyes suddenly turning cold. Although he forced a smile at Quinn, a sense of suppressed loss spread within him.

After the siblings chatted for a while, Cameron coaxed Quinn to sleep a little longer. Once she fell asleep, he quietly left the ward.

Elias was lounging on a chair by the ward entrance, seeing Cameron come out, he asked indifferently, "Is she asleep?"

"Yes, she just fell asleep." Cameron sat beside Elias, clasping his hands over his knees, lowering his gaze to hide the mix of emotions in his eyes.

"Elias, you have to take care of Savannah. Otherwise, I’ll do whatever it takes to bring her back."

Elias side-eyed Cameron, the depth of his eyes carried an elusive complexity.

"Don’t worry," he replied, his voice as calm as water, free of warmth and emotion. Rising slowly, Elias opened the ward door softly, going back inside to wait for Quinn to wake up.

Cameron leaned back on the chair, a bitter smile tugging at his lips.

He got up then, walked away, and left the hospital. Waiting longer wouldn’t change anything...

When Quinn woke, Elias ordered some mild and nutritious meals, fed her, and then handled the discharge procedures.

"Let’s go." As Quinn lifted the blanket to get out of bed, slipping on her slippers, Elias picked her up horizontally. Startled by her sudden lift, she yelped and clung tightly to Elias, fearing she might fall.

"Wh-what..." Quinn’s body tensed slightly as she felt the solid and steady heartbeat against his chest, making her blush deeply.

Elias’s lips curled just a tad, his smile reaching his eyes, as he teased, "Whatever it is, we’ll talk when we get back."

Quinn’s neck tilted slightly back, her almond eyes fluttered with unease, not daring to meet his gaze again, her face blushing crimson.

Elias’s smile widened further, the sunlight outlining his lean and handsome face. As Quinn nestled in his embrace, feeling that serene and formidable presence, she momentarily lost herself in a daze.

Carrying Quinn steadily to the car, Elias gently set her in the passenger seat and then started the car, driving back to The Sinclair Family.

"Savannah, you’re back. How are you feeling? What did the doctor say?" Grandpa Sinclair quickly stepped forward to greet Quinn as soon as she entered the main hall.

"I’m fine, Grandpa, don’t worry." Quinn supported Grandpa Sinclair by the arm, afraid he might fall if he walked too fast.

Grandpa Sinclair glanced at the emotionless Elias, softly coughing to discreetly hint at something.
