Chapter 233: Chapter 233
Nina Sinclair, upon hearing that her grandfather was about to kick her out, was so scared that she fell to her knees with a thud. Her tears, as large as beans, poured down uncontrollably as she clung tightly to Grandpa Sinclair’s leg, wailing and pleading.
"Grandpa, I’m sorry, I won’t dare do it again; I truly know I’m wrong. Please don’t make me leave. Nina won’t do it again, Nina was wrong. I beg you, Grandpa."
In the past, Grandpa Sinclair would never have been able to endure seeing Nina cry , but her behavior in recent days was simply unspeakably excessive. It wasn’t just a child’s prank, but clearly a malicious act to harm others!
Grandpa Sinclair waved his hand, signaling the servants to quickly pull Nina away, still full of anger as he wanted to send her out.
Feeling genuinely frightened now, Nina stumbled toward the hospital in a panic. If her father found out she was being sent back to Meridia by her grandfather, he’d definitely kill her. More importantly, she’d never see Cameron again!
"Savannah Lowell, which room is she in?" Nina asked at the hospital front desk, her eyes swollen and her hair disheveled.
The receptionist, seeing that Nina seemed emotionally unstable, didn’t tell her where Quinn Lockwood’s room was, to ensure patient privacy and safety.
Nina shouted angrily at the receptionist, "I’m the Sinclair family’s lady. I’m here to visit Savannah Lowell. Tell me quickly, or I’ll have you thrown out of the hospital immediately!"
The receptionist, knowing Savannah had just been admitted, assumed Nina was overly concerned about Quinn’s condition. Though she didn’t know Nina, the girl in front of her, despite looking a bit disheveled, was indeed dressed in expensive clothing.
After a moment’s thought, the receptionist decided to tell Nina where Quinn Lockwood’s room was.
She went straight up the elevator to the top-floor VIP ward, calling out for Quinn. Cameron, hearing Nina’s voice from room 1806, got up and pulled her toward the stairwell.
"Let go of me, I want to find Savannah Lowell! It’s because of her that Grandpa kicked me out!" Nina’s wrist hurt from how tightly Cameron was holding her. No matter how she struggled, she couldn’t break free from his grasp.
"Don’t let me see you disturbing Savannah again." Cameron opened the stairwell door, pushed her out, and then locked the door leading back to the hospital ward.
He would never allow anyone who would harm Quinn to appear in front of him, regardless of whose sister she was or what her status was.
Nina looked through the stairwell glass, hoping to call out to Cameron, but as his silhouette grew distant, tears started falling uncontrollably again.
Cameron must hate her now, and she must look so ugly at this moment; Cameron must find her utterly repugnant!
Sobbing, she headed downstairs, trying to call Freya Caldwell to ask for her help, but no one answered the phone.
Maybe she was busy? Nina thought, then wiped her tears and took a cab to Freya’s house, as only Freya could help her now.
Arriving at Freya’s private apartment, Nina knocked on the door but got no response for a while. She vaguely heard Freya talking inside, seemingly on a call with someone.
As she pressed down on the doorknob, the door opened, and after taking just a couple of steps inside, she froze upon clearly hearing Freya’s conversation, her face immediately changing, too scared to make a sound.
"Five million, I need you to do it cleanly."
"Seven million it is then. As long as you ensure that Savannah Lowell disappears, I won’t short you a penny, and I’ll also settle things regarding your son."
"If you can make her die painfully, even better!"
Hearing Freya’s insidious words, Nina felt a wave of fear, and she quietly backed out of the apartment, shutting the door and quickly heading to the elevator.
Even after exiting the apartment building, Nina’s heart was still pounding wildly.
Leaning against the wall in a moment of lingering fear, she steadied her chest, while Freya’s sinister, terrifying words echoed endlessly in her ear: kill Savannah Lowell... kill Savannah Lowell...
Annoyed, she covered her ears and swiftly ran out of the apartment area.
After running several hundred meters, Nina stopped at the roadside, her expression extremely serious.
She did hate Quinn, for stealing away her brother and grandfather’s affection, and for taking away her beloved Cameron, but... she couldn’t really let her die.
After all... she had known Savannah for a long time, no matter if she was good or bad, she was still a living person.
But if she went and told her, would Savannah believe her? Would she report Freya’s murder plot to the police?
Conflicted, she rubbed her temples, and then, gritting her teeth, decided to tell Quinn about it. Even if she really did go to the police, without evidence, they wouldn’t really arrest Freya.
Returning to the hospital to find Quinn, Nina didn’t make a scene but gently pushed open the door.
"Who let you in?" Before Nina could open the door fully, someone grabbed her wrist forcefully and flung her aside.
Closing the door to the ward softly, Cameron frowned and looked at Nina with disgust. His cold and oppressive expression made Nina instinctively want to retreat, not daring to meet his gaze. Updates are released by novel★fire.net
"I... um..." Nina clutched her clothing tightly, wanting to speak about Freya’s dealings but inexplicably couldn’t find the words. Meeting Cameron’s loathing gaze, her heart felt an immediate chill.
As long as he was with Quinn, Cameron wouldn’t notice her at all. He was clearly a gentle man, as refined as jade, who never showed such a scary expression.
He clearly... he had clearly smiled gently at her more than once...
But ever since that woman appeared, everything changed.
Why take everything from her? Wasn’t Grandpa and her brother’s love enough? Why take Cameron too?
Nina bit her lip tightly until a blood taste spread in her mouth.
But... could she really sit by and watch Freya plan to have her killed?
Swallowing hard, the taste of blood made her feel a bit nauseous.
"Get out." Cameron frowned heavily, casting a cold glance at Nina before turning away, as if he couldn’t bear to look at her for another second.
"I..." Nina took a deep breath before speaking softly, "I’ll leave right away..."
With heavy steps, she entered the elevator, feeling an indescribable discomfort in her heart, like a huge stone pressing against her chest. She didn’t even know if her decision was right or wrong.
