Chapter 203: Chapter 203

"Not with him? I think you should be spending almost every day at the hospital now." The voice, laced with jealousy, was growing even colder.

Elias Sinclair thought back to how, before his business trip, Quinn Lockwood had been so caring and attentive to Dylan Quinn at the hospital, and his mind was a whirlwind of emotions. ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ novelꞁire.net

On the other hand, Quinn Lockwood felt utterly perplexed. Dylan was injured because of her, so visiting him at the hospital was only natural.

"You’re being completely irrational. Even if Dylan wasn’t hurt saving me, I’d still visit him at the hospital as his good friend!"

"Do you think you’re particularly good at taking care of people? Are you devotedly caring for Dylan as well?" Elias’s tone was unusually icy, enhanced by his intense jealousy.

Remembering how Quinn had gently and thoroughly taken care of him when he was injured, and then imagining her showing that same care to another man, made Elias increasingly uncomfortable.

Wasn’t Quinn Lockwood about to explode with anger herself?

She truly couldn’t understand what was up with Boss Sinclair. If he was jealous, he couldn’t possibly be jealous of her, could he? If not, why on earth would he suddenly take it out on her?

"Who I care for is none of your business, you’re being unreasonable!" Quinn Lockwood’s temper flared, and she snapped into the phone, gritting her teeth and looking very much like a kitten whose tail had been stepped on.

"Prepare for filming, find Savannah Lowell!" The voice of the crew echoed from inside. As Quinn walked toward the set, she said into the phone, "I have to start filming, talk later."

Rolling her eyes in frustration, Quinn Lockwood hung up and put her phone back in her pocket.

Her good mood from the morning was completely disrupted by that guy!

Thanks to her rapidly improving acting skills, Quinn Lockwood wasn’t much affected by her personal emotions and completed a set of filming smoothly. During lunch, everyone was gathered around chatting.

"Who are you? This is a set; you can’t just barge in. Leave now." A commotion was heard outside, as security tried and failed to stop someone from coming in.

Voices of confrontation erupted.

The crew members went out to investigate and returned saying the person was looking for Quinn Lockwood.

Slightly puzzled, Quinn Lockwood stepped out.

It seemed like the person was there to cause trouble, and several curious staff from the set followed outside for a look.

"Bitch, did you bully Faye yesterday?" Standing at the entrance, Nina Sinclair stood with her hands on her hips, her face angry and stormy.

"What are you talking about?" Quinn Lockwood’s expression wasn’t great either. Were the Sinclair siblings in on this together? Her brother just lost his temper at her for no reason, and now the sister came to cause trouble.

"Don’t play dumb. You’ve always been at odds with Faye. Who else could it be?" Nina pointed at Quinn Lockwood, convinced she was the mastermind.

More and more set workers gathered to watch, whispering about Quinn Lockwood and Nina.

They couldn’t believe Savannah Lowell’s friendly appearance was a façade, and that privately she bullied others. It really goes to show how you can’t judge a book by its cover!

Quinn Lockwood took a deep breath, trying her best to control her rising temper. She pursed her lips, took two steps toward Nina, and said, "What evidence do you have that it was me?"

"First of all, someone like Freya Caldwell, I can’t be bothered with her. Secondly, last night I was first at the hospital, and then went to the agency for a scheduled meeting— I didn’t have time for bullying."

"Would you like me to take you to check the surveillance on the way to the hospital and agency? If transportation authority is inconvenient, I can also show you my dashcam."

"Oh, and by the way, I met a paparazzi at the hospital. How about I take you to ask him? Ariana Lynch is in a nearby ward, feel free to ask anyone."

Quinn Lockwood looked at Nina calmly, the slight anger in her eyes showing just how bad her mood was. Her cold demeanor sent chills through the onlookers.

"You..." Nina was left speechless by Quinn Lockwood’s clear evidence, but her dislike and disdain for Quinn made her unwilling to admit she wrongly accused her.

Stomping her foot in anger, Nina turned around and ran, her face red, unsure if it was from anger or embarrassment.

At that moment, a speeding car came rushing toward Nina. Quinn Lockwood didn’t have time to think and dashed over, forcefully pushing Nina out of the way, making her fall heavily on the ground.

"Are you crazy?" Nina got up, intending to slap Quinn Lockwood, but just as she grabbed her wrist, a piercing sound of brakes screeched, and a silver car stopped barely a meter away, making Nina step back in shock.

"Are you nuts, don’t you know traffic rules?" A middle-aged man with a cigarette appeared out of the car window. Seeing Nina’s attractive looks, he took a big drag and swallowed his curses.

Nina found herself stunned and unsure how to react.

She never expected Savannah Lowell to save her. Considering how she had always opposed and looked down on her, Savannah should have hated her.

A peculiar feeling arose in Nina, but being proud, how could she possibly lower herself to thank her?

Pressing her lips together, a complicated expression flashed in Nina’s eyes, and she turned and ran away, pushing past Quinn Lockwood.

"Hey, want me to take you to the hospital, beautiful?" The man in the car ogled at Nina’s departing figure with a greedy look.

"Traffic laws clearly state no smoking while driving. Sir, you need to brush up on regulations. It won’t be easy if you hit someone next time." Quinn Lockwood coldly remarked to the man in the car before returning to the set.

"Savannah, that was impressive! The way you turned around was so cool!" The staff who had watched the drama unfold changed their attitude toward Quinn once they realized she had been misunderstood.

Quinn Lockwood pursed her lips, finding them to be nothing more than opportunists.

In the afternoon, a set of commercials was filmed smoothly. Dylan Quinn called to say he planned to be discharged. After hanging up, Quinn Lockwood didn’t delay, buying a bouquet to pick him up from the hospital.
