Chapter 361: Chapter 361
Sister Kang looked at Wan Chu’er, who smiled and said, "Give it to him." Then Sister Kang walked away, gently pushing the baby crib aside to make it easier for Wan Chu’er to eat.
Jiang Kechu scooped some chicken soup and insisted on feeding Wan Chu’er himself. Wan Chu’er had no choice but to let him, taking sips from his hand.
Sister Kang kept an eye on them, seeing how loving and intimate they were, she couldn’t help feeling happy for Wan Chu’er.
After finishing the chicken soup, Wan Chu’er asked, "Why isn’t Mr. Yan here?"
"Oh, Mr. Yan said he was going to look at houses," Sister Kang whispered. "Mr. Yan said our current house is too small, with two new kids and the need to hire two more nannies, we definitely won’t fit there. Mr. Yan told you not to worry, he’ll take care of everything. By the time you’re discharged, you’ll be able to move into a new home."
Sister Kang looked on with envy, thinking how lucky Wan Chu’er was. She didn’t see Jiang Kechu, who was facing away from her, his face darkening with anger, but she did feel the room getting colder, sending shivers down her spine, and her voice trailed off.
However, Wan Chu’er clearly saw the expression on Jiang Kechu’s face. She tugged at Jiang Kechu’s hand and whispered:
"The house we’re living in now really is a bit cramped, especially with the two children, and you, and the addition of two more nannies, we truly won’t fit." Wan Chu’er plucked up the courage to say, "I really do have to thank Mr. Yan this time. My water broke suddenly, and he was the one who drove me to the hospital. These past few days have been chaotic, and it was Mr. Yan who hired a caretaker to prevent us from being completely unprepared."
Jiang Kechu snorted and said, "That’s because you didn’t tell me. If I were there, he wouldn’t have had any place to be."
Well, he would thank Yan Hui, for taking care of his wife and child, but in the future, he would wish Yan Hui to stay as far away as possible.
"I’ll go and buy a house, after all, it’s going to be for our family of four in the future. What business is it of an outsider to buy it?" Jiang Kechu said disdainfully.
After saying this, he felt a bit uneasy. The money he currently had was certainly not enough to buy a big house here, and he knew all too well that houses here wouldn’t be cheap.
His mind spun rapidly, rifling through his contacts in Beijing, considering who he could approach to borrow some money first and have them transfer it over.
This needed to be done quickly; he couldn’t let Yan Hui get ahead.
"I’ll go make a phone call, you rest here for a bit," Jiang Kechu said to Wan Chu’er, trying to keep his composure.
But Wan Chu’er remembered that Jiang Kechu disliked Yan Hui, and she had long considered Yan Hui as family in her heart. She couldn’t bear to see Jiang Kechu treat Yan Hui harshly, so she held onto his clothes and said:
"Uncle Jiang, Mr. Yan is also well-intentioned. We can pay ourselves. Otherwise, I’ll ask Sister Kang to give the bank card to Mr. Yan to use when buying the house."
Jiang Kechu paused, starting to believe what Wan Chu’er had said before – she might have indeed turned over twenty-something million into more than a hundred million.
He felt a mix of emotions - if his wife could earn more money than him, did that mean she no longer needed to spend his money, that she didn’t need him to provide for the family anymore? This thought made him somewhat dejected.
No, he had to earn money himself!
A childhood friend had recently invited him to become a shareholder in an entertainment company. With that friend’s background, the company was sure to be profitable, and the offer was essentially for him to earn money easily. It seemed he needed to go back and sell a couple of properties to invest.
Thinking this, Jiang Kechu said, "Keep the money you earn as your own spending money. I’ll handle these major family expenses."
Wan Chu’er smiled at him, guessing that the twenty-something million Jiang Kechu could come up with was all he had, and the man was just putting on a brave face.
She laughed and said, "What’s yours and mine, really, if we have to be so clear about it, then I’ve made money using your funds, so all that money should be yours."
Then, without further ado, Wan Chu’er took out a bank card from her wallet and stuffed it into Jiang Kechu’s hands, leaning in to whisper by his ear, "This card contains US dollars, ten million of them, and the pin is your birthday."
Hearing this, Jiang Kechu was stunned. He immediately looked at Wan Chu’er with a fiery gaze, feeling waves of warmth in his heart. The slight jealousy he had towards Yan Hui vanished in an instant.
See, even the pin for the bank card was set to his birthday. It’s as clear as day that his wife was declaring her love for him. Why would Jiang Kechu be the least bit jealous? He contentedly kneaded her small hand for a good while longer.
Come evening, Yan Hui brought a stack of real estate information to the hospital.
Although Jiang Kechu still found all sorts about him disagreeable, he sincerely thanked Yan Hui.
Yan Hui felt a bitter taste in his heart and said in an understated manner, "No need to thank me. Doing this bit for Chuchu is nothing."
Jiang Kechu choked up for a moment and then said confidently, "From now on, you won’t need to trouble yourself with Chuchu and the kids. I’m more than enough. After all, she is my wife and they are my children."
"If I remember correctly, you and Chuchu aren’t married yet," Yan Hui replied nonchalantly, hitting the nail on the head.
"Well, I’m still ahead of you in progress. We already have two kids!"
Just as it seemed the two men were going to clash, Wan Chu’er sighed in exasperation and quickly intervened, "Mr. Yan, what do you have there? Is it an advertisement for houses?"
Upon hearing Wan Chu’er’s words, Yan Hui instantly ignored Jiang Kechu, turned around, and walked over to her.
"These are a few houses that I think are pretty decent. You can pick one. All of these houses are ready to move into; you just need to pay."
Jiang Kechu narrowed his eyes and then walked over nonchalantly, picked up the advertisements from Wan Chu’er’s hands and began to scrutinize them, commenting to Wan Chu’er as they went through them, leaving Yan Hui unable to get a word in.
Yan Hui internally cursed ’childish’ and said to Wan Chu’er with a gentle tone, "It’s getting late, I’ll take my leave now. Take your time choosing. Once you’ve decided, just give me a call, okay? Remember to rest well."
After finishing his words and giving a slight nod to Jiang Kechu, he walked straight out of the ward.
Seeing Yan Hui walk away with an air of aloofness, Jiang Kechu snorted.
Wan Chu’er let out a breath of relief, thinking to herself that she should never let these two men get together again, or even if they did, not with her around.
After discussing for a while, they decided on a high-end detached villa in a community, complete with a lawn and backyard. The villa had many rooms, enough for a whole big family, and it wasn’t expensive, just over a million US dollars.
After they agreed, Jiang Kechu suddenly thought of an issue: when would Wan Chu’er and the kids return to the country? He certainly couldn’t stay here for long, as this trip was special, and the organization had only approved ten days of leave.
From the way Chuchu was buying the house, it looked like she was planning to settle down for good. If that was the case, it wouldn’t be good.
Jiang Kechu thought about it but didn’t show any concern outwardly. Chuchu had just given birth; she shouldn’t be disturbed by this matter, and there were still a few days left. It was always going to be perfectly resolved.
Moreover, the folks back home still didn’t know about Chuchu having twins. If the old master found out, or that meddlesome Xiao Bai...
And so, Jiang Kechu wasn’t worried at all.
