Chapter 360: Chapter 360

Originally teary-eyed, Wan Chu’er transformed into a strong mother upon hearing the baby’s cry, promptly instructing the two caretakers to bring the child to her.

As she and Jiang Kechu each held a baby, she directed one caretaker to prepare formula and another to change a diaper.

Jiang Kechu was first astonished by Wan Chu’er’s transformation, then, after a little thing was stuffed into his arms, his body stiffened. He carefully cradled the little one on his arm, feeling it like a tiny monster crying out loud with a mouth wide open, wondering how it could be so soft and the cries so thunderous!

He felt somewhat at a loss, unsure how to handle this little monster and wanted to soothe it from crying but feared dropping it.

After Wan Chu’er had changed the diaper and put a bottle into one baby’s mouth to calm it down, she quickly turned to find the other, only to see Jiang Kechu handling it so cautiously and couldn’t help but laugh.

She took the baby from Jiang Kechu’s arms, changed its diaper, and laughed, "These two little ones could really wear people out — it’s either poop, pee, or hunger, and they sure can eat a lot."

Jiang Kechu felt a bit unwilling to hear Wan Chu’er talk about the children like that and assertively said, "No worries, I can afford to raise them."

Wan Chu’er burst into laughter, teasingly said, "Uncle Jiang, the money you gave me is all spent."

Jiang Kechu froze. There had been over twenty million in that account.

However, he quickly came to terms, feeling happy that Chuchu was willing to spend his money.

"I’ll work hard to earn more, won’t let you three miss out," he said, feeling the pressure mounting after his statement.

Wan Chu’er laughed, slyly saying, "But I’ve earned back five times that amount."

Jiang Kechu was stupefied, five times, that’s a lot!

He thought Wan Chu’er was joking, so he replied, "No worries, spent is spent." Fearing Wan Chu’er would dwell on this issue, he changed the topic, asking:

"By the way, are these two little ones boys or girls?"

He had been so excited that he hadn’t even clarified whether he had sons or daughters.

Hearing this, Wan Chu’er rolled her eyes at him, annoyed that he didn’t even know if the children were boys or girls, showing too little concern.

She cooed, "A son and a daughter, this one is our daughter, that one is our son."

Twins, a boy and a girl!

Jiang Kechu became excited, stretching his hand to cradle Wan Chu’er’s head and gave her a big kiss, "Wife, I’m truly amazing, managed to have twins in one go!"

Seeing Jiang Kechu so happy, Wan Chu’er was pleased too, but couldn’t resist snorting pretentiously.

"Stop calling me that, we’re not married yet; the kids are mine, if anyone’s amazing, it’s me."

"Hey hey," Jiang Kechu shamelessly retorted: "Without me, how could you have them by yourself? The kids are ours, if you’re not my wife then what are you? You’re my darling, from now on, all three of you are my darlings."

Had it not been for the two caregivers in the room, he would have definitely showered her with affection.

Wan Chu’er didn’t expect Jiang Kechu to utter such cheesy words; her face turned red, she gave him a glare, and lowered her head to watch the child being breastfed.

Jiang Kechu felt that Chuchu’s glance just then was seductive and tender like silk, stirring his emotions greatly. He swallowed several times and stealthily reached out to hold Chuchu’s soft hand.

Wan Chu’er didn’t even look up, trying to pull her hand away, but Jiang Kechu held it even tighter. Unable to free herself, she eventually let him hold on to her hand.

Soon, Jiang Kechu started to knead and squeeze that little hand. Perhaps it was because she had just given birth, she felt more sensitive than usual, and this kneading by Jiang Kechu made her feel agitated and disturbed.

Given the inappropriate time and place, Wan Chu’er could only plead, "Uncle Jiang, please let go."

Jiang Kechu, slightly lost control at her delicate whimper, cleared his throat and seized the moment to say:

"From now on, don’t be sulky with me, don’t avoid me ." The more Jiang Kechu spoke, the worse he felt: "If it weren’t for my sudden unrest and worry about you, I wouldn’t even know I’d become a dad. If I hadn’t come here, were you planning to never tell me? Even that Mr. Yan knows, but I, the father, didn’t."

A sour jealousy spread, "Also, don’t get too close to that Mr. Yan. Whenever I see him approaching you, I feel like punching someone."

Wan Chu’er blinked blankly, nodded, and gradually felt sweetness in her heart, "Got it, I’ll listen to you."

At that moment, the two children finished nursing. Jiang Kechu tightened his grip on Wan Chu’er’s tender hand one last time before letting go. He carefully picked up a child, mimicking Wan Chu’er’s actions, and placed the baby on his shoulder to burp him.

When the caregiver came over to take the baby, Jiang Kechu disliked the idea, as he hadn’t had enough time with the baby yet. So, he waved the caregiver away, took the baby himself, and carefully placed the baby back into the carrier. After placing the baby, he pushed the carrier next to the bed.

One moment, he observed the two tender, pink little ones, and the next, he glanced at the much softer-looking Wan Chu’er, unable to get enough of the sight.

Seeing Jiang Kechu acting so foolishly, Wan Chu’er felt a wave of affection and decided not to cause any more troubles from then on, intending to sincerely settle down with Jiang Kechu.

Her previous plans of finishing a Masters in Computer Science and then a Masters in Finance were thrown all the way to Zhao Wa Country.

Suddenly, seeing Wan Chu’er’s eyes redden, Jiang Kechu quickly touched her face, soothingly cooing, "There, there, don’t cry."

Wan Chu’er sobbed, "Jiang Kechu, I am sorry."

Jiang Kechu laughed, "Silly girl, no need to apologize to me."

As they were quietly talking, Sister Kang entered carrying a thermal lunch box. She was surprised to see Jiang Kechu in the room, especially seeing how close he and Wan Chu’er appeared.

Jiang Kechu moderated the tenderness on his face, straightened up, nodded at Sister Kang, and said solemnly, "Thank you for taking care of my wife and children during this time."

Sister Kang, even more astonished, took a good look at Jiang Kechu, thinking how much he actually resembled the twins.

Jiang Kechu, tall and imposing, often unconsciously exudes a sharp aura, which invariably pressures others. Sister Kang responded cautiously and politely.

Noticing Sister Kang’s discomfort, Wan Chu’er smiled and said, "Sister Kang, he is the children’s father, Jiang Kechu."

Sister Kang replied with an "Oh," and hastily said, "Must be hungry, I’ve made chicken soup for you. It should be just warm enough for drinking now. Have a couple of bowls, it might even help with tomorrow’s meal for the little ones."

Jiang Kechu, overhearing this, raised his eyebrows, walked over, and took the thermal lunch box from Sister Kang’s hands, saying, "Let me handle this."
