The weather was so cold because it was the start of January 2020. A new year with a new beginning. I hope and wish that this year every bad eye and fortune will stay away from me, my family, and all the people who were near me.
After last night caught up with my family, which was so dramatic than I expected. I told them a cover story about my injuries that I got into an accident and that was the reason for not being able to attend Christmas and new year's eve together.
I told them that I asked Daddy not to tell anyone about it so that you guys won't get worried for me and spoiled your Christmas. After a long questionnaire of Caro and Mom, finally, they believed me.
Then the rest of the night spent with Bre and Daddy, telling them about what happened in the crystal world. They asked about Walter and I informed them that he was helping guardians to settle the town because Annabella destroyed it in the worst way possible.
While Mr. Stupid slept in my room with me, securing his arms tightly around me as if, fearing here he loses his hold and there I would disappear again. And he had an excuse, saying this was all my fault he didn't sleep for many days, so he was gonna sleep with me now.
I chuckled at his childish reason for staying with me but didn't say anything.
This was how my night spends, giving me the warmth of the love of family that they care so much about me.
Now, I was heading to complete my last and foremost task. I had worn black jeans with a red full sleeves sweater. While my hairs were tied in a braid. But there was still something that feels missing. So after finding for a good 15 minutes, I found an elegant beaded headband in my closet and put it on my head.
"That's perfect." I looked at myself in the mirror and said. Because of wearing a crown in the crystal world for so long now, it felt empty, If I won't put something on my head.
I was descending the stairs when I spotted Caro sitting in the hall with a magazine in her hand and an LCD TV showing the news.
'Do it!' I texted Bre and trudged towards Caro. I stood in front of her with my arms cross in front of my chest.
"What?" She asked without casting a glance at me. I chuckled.
"Why?" I asked sternly. She looked at me with a frown.
"Look, my mood is really good because Liam will be here anytime soon and I'm going on lunch with him. So please don't spoil it." She said and rolled her eyes.
"How can you enjoy anything after spoiling so many lives?" I asked with hurt as my heart clenched with the pain. A pang of pain always hit me whenever I think about what she had done.
"What are you saying?" She glared at me.
"You know very well," I said.
"What the hell? Have you lost your mind? What nonsense are you saying? It's no more than 24 hours that you're back and you've started to disturb me already!" She yelled without any reason. And everyone gathered in the hall.
Mom, Daddy, maids, and even Liam came like a ghost and stood beside her.
"What's going on here?" He asked and I chuckled.
"You know what Caro, I still want us to be sisters. Sister bound with love and care, a soul relationship but the problem was always the same and still is. I was the only one wanting and you never wanted me by your side. You never thought of me as your sister but a rival." I said with each word dipped in sorrow.
"What are you saying, sweety?" Mom said, trying to understand what was going on.
"You're right! I never thought of you as a sister because you're not my sister. Not my biological sister. Mom and Dad found you in the forest. You're an abandoned child." She said. I felt a hard rock hit my heart as I fight back the tears.
"Your parents left you and MY parents accept you. See, how can I love you? You stole the love of my favor. Mom loved you more than me, Dad loved you and even you stole my brother. How can I love you? There is no reason for loving you. I hate you the most in this world..." She cut by a slap on her face.
Mom slapped her right on her face and she looked at Mom with disbelief and at me with hatred.
"You hate me then why did you kill them? Why did you kill your own brother and sister-in-law?" I asked, looking directly at her and she froze at her spot as her eyes widened. Fear was visible on her face. The whole room fell silent. I felt a tear fell on my cheek.
"What is she saying, Caroline?" It was Daddy who broke the silence with a high-pitched threatening voice. Asking his question straight to Caro. She jerked and even I jerked because of Daddy's tone. He never raised his voice before, it was the first time.
"I... I... Dad..." She shuttered and her eyes were terrified. More tears started to fell on my cheeks. What you have done Caro? What you have done?
"Breaking news, we are informing you about a big shot of this year. Amino the name known at the international level and their status is unbeatable. We get information from a confidential person that the accident happened last year in which the oldest son Alessandro Amino and his wife Mia Amino died, was... Not an accident but a planned murder.
We also got information that someone had handed all the evidence regarding real culprits to cops and anytime soon they are going to arrest them. You must get a stroke if you get to know that the real culprits are none other than their middle Daughter Caroline Amino and his fiance Liam Watson. No one had to say anything, no one had to ask anything. The news anchor snapped each and every word in the news. Telling me Bre had done his work. Cops will be here anytime now.
Mom gripped the chair to prevent herself from falling and Daddy's eyes were wide open and shooting dangerous daggers at Liam and Caro. Liam looked at Caro and gripped her hand. She clung to his arm.
"Why?" Mom snapped. "Why Caro? Why?"
"I'm sorry..." She sobbed and started to cry as she continued, "I really didn't want to hurt Alessandro. All I wanted is just to finish her but Darren. I didn't know about his plans, he used us to fulfill his desires. We didn't want to kill them but everything happened too suddenly... I'm sorry. Please forgive me." She lowered her head and my heart shattered.
I wish I could help her. I wish I could say to her, 'don't worry' but... Alas! What she did was unforgivable. She wanted to kill me and Darren used this opportunity in his favor. If Isabella didn't teleport me to the crystal world then I had already died.
"But..." She picked her head up and there was not a single sign of regret or guilt but rage, pure anger for me. She looked at me with bloodshot eyes.
"But..." She stepped forward and the hand she was using to clung Liam's arm, she brought it out and there was a gun in her hand. She pointed it at me and said with gritted teeth, "But... I don't want to regret it." She gripped the trigger, ready to shot.
"Caro! No baby. Don't do this." Liam said, trying to convince her.
"Caroline, I'm telling you to put that gun down," Daddy yelled.
"Caro... Please don't take my only child away from me." Mom pleaded with tears none stop rolling down on her cheeks.
I looked at her, her eyes had just hatred and the fire in them ready to burn everything. I felt my heart shattered. I wish if things were not like this. I sighed. I would have died for her if that could give her peace but... Only if my life depends only on myself.
Now, my life was not only my life but thousands of life depends on me, my family, my people, and my beloved ones. I couldn't die. Even if I wanted to...still I couldn't.
"My dear sister, you must die." Caro shouted before she pulled the trigger. The room boomed with fire while I looked at the gun with focus and the bullet vanished in the midway.
At the same time, cops entered our house followed by Bre and Veward. Within no time, cops arrested Caro and Liam and took them out while Caro keep yelling all the way out,
"You have to pay for this! You can't do this to me! You have to pay for this!"
Mom hugged me and I let my tears fell freely. Mom kissed my forehead and whispered before pulling me again in her embrace, hiding me from all bad fortune in the world,
"Don't worry. Everything will be alright..."
