Chapter 49: Chapter 49
Marietta P.O.V
"How much?" Walter asked exhausted, his one hand was dangling down the table and the other one was busy, playing the drum with his fingers, creating noise in the silent study room.
"Just 10 more minutes," I said and he popped his head up which was resting on the table.
"You said this 10 minutes ago." Walter winced. "You should finish your all stupid work at that silly office." He complained.
"Walter!" I glared at him and saved the stuff I had done in the past two hours.
"Hmm." He hummed still in that lazy position.
"Hey! Can I ask you something?" I asked. I did not know what was running inside my brain...Those immortal powers were cool but they were messing with my brain cells.
He looked at me and asked dramatically, "Yes, anything your highness."
"Am I human or Immortal?" I raised a question.
"You are..." He stopped to think, "about it.....maybe... Humtal!"
"What?" I asked. What kind of a word was that?
"I said humtal. It means half human and half immortal." He said with a smile.
"Oh...I see." I said and closed my laptop. He cheerfully clapped his hands, "Finally!" I chuckled at his childish behavior.
"By the way, Humtal is my logic." He said simply.
"Alright..." I said but when I understood his meaning. I half yelled, "Wait........WHAT?" He laughed.
"It's a silly question princess. What are you trying to ask?" He said and stood up to stretch his body.
Maybe that was a silly question. But it was irritating me to death. I mean.....I knew I wasn't human but that means I was supposed to stay with immortals, not humans. Then...what about my appearance here? What...about Veward? What about my responsibilities here?
'Is that mean I should live with immortals in the crystal world?'
"Princess?" Walter snapped his fingers in front of my eyes and took me out of my silly yet disturbing thoughts. What people said was right, 'Our 80 percent problems will solve if we stop overthinking' but I was not overthinking, was I?
"Is there water somewhere? Like a lake or something?" Walter asked.
"Yeah. Come with me." I smiled and took him downstairs. Besides the stairs, there was a door that led us to our indoor swimming pool. I opened the door and stepped inside. He followed me.
"Why didn't you show me this before?" Walter asked amused.
I looked at the whole area. The water was blue and clean. I had not come here since Alessandro's death. We always came here and had too much fun. He used to throw me in the pool and I always screamed on top of my lungs at him. A smile appeared on my lips at all those beautiful memories.
"Princess, look..." Walter said and pointed me to look in the water. He had made a beautiful butterfly with small tiny water drops which to my surprise was moving and the wings were throwing ting water drops at my face. It made me forgot about everything.
"How did you do that?" I asked.
"Focus......Your mind and heart should be focusing on the same point." Walter said then converted that butterfly into the water again and threw that back in the pool.
I tried to focus on it. I looked at the water and gestured my hand towards it and closing my eyes, I thought, 'It should have to work now. I'm practicing for several days.' I opened my eyes and try to make a water ball.
"Relax your outer thoughts and just focus on mind and heart," Walter instructed.
'I can do it!'
'Just thought you did it.' I thought. My imagination was my power. Imagine...just imagine Marietta...come on you got this. My eyes went widened and my jaw dropped on the floor when I saw that...
"I did it!" I exclaimed loudly.
There was a normal size water ball dancing in between the water surface and roof. I mean in the air. I did it. Although its shape was not perfectly round still I hold it. I jumped up and down with so much excitement and that cause that ball to land in the water pool again.
"Amazing!" Walter exclaimed loudly and happily. He came forward and tightly hugged me which I returned. There was a warm feeling in his hug like a........like a brother. I smiled at him.
We pulled apart and he said, "I am so proud of you." My smile widened. "I know."
"What happened?" I asked as his face unexpectedly and suddenly contorted in anger. He looked outside the glass door. Well, on the left side, there was a glass door that led to the backside of the house.
"Vampires." He shortly replied and I got his meaning. But before I could ask anything a bat appeared from my back and Walter pushed me aside in the pool then disappeared along with the bat. For a short moment, I remembered Alessandro who always pushed me purposively.
I swam out hurriedly. I had to find Walter and that vampire. My clothes were badly drenched in water but I ran towards the backside of the house. I was worried about Walter. He must have taken him to the forest, located at the backside of our house. My whole body was shaking because of the cold weather. My heart was running at a high speed just like my legs.
I ran and ran, soon I came out of the house boundary to that dark shadow tree forest. After running for more than 15 minutes when I stopped to catch my breath, I saw Walter.
He was lying on the ground as blood was coming out of his head and his arm looked hurt.
"Walter!" I yelled worriedly and that grabbed the attention of that vampire.
His eyes were red and they shined when they landed on me. That froze me at my spot. The whole appearance of that scary blood-sucking vampire was causing a cold shiver to run down my spine. He looked at me with hunger and I shuddered.
"Run from here!" Walter barely whisper yelled. His voice was full of concern and fear.
That vampire took steps towards me. I should have run away from here only if my feet gave permission. My feet betrayed and I froze at my spot. My heart was ticking like a time bomb, sweat drops appeared on my already wet forehead as my body trembled with fear.
In that cold weather of November still, I managed to get sweaty.
I forgot to blink and saw with my eyes, that vampire jumped through his vampire power from that position to just three-step distance away. My breath stuck. My lungs stopped working and my shriek stuck somewhere in my throat.
My eyes widen when he moved his hand towards me and stopped by a sudden jerk in his spot. He disappeared immediately in the form of black ashes. I released my breath and looked at my savior: My Masked Savior.
I collapsed on the floor over my knees and looked at her. Then I looked at Walter who was trying to lean with the tree to sit up. I crawled towards him.
"Walter a....are you..o...okay?" I barely spoke.
"Yeah." He shortly replied while his wounds were healing automatically like magic. Just like we saw in movies. It was his Neogenesis power.
"It was your responsibility to protect her but you are not trustworthy!" Masked Savior yelled at Walter. She was looking as same as always, covered in black from head to toe just revealing her shining green eyes.
"I know what is my responsibility! Who are you to tell me that?" Walter screamed back. Then he looked at me probably for an answer.
"She.....she is....." I shuttered not knowing what to say. I never thought I would tell anyone about masked savior except Veward and Al.
"It doesn't matter." Masked savior said and looked at me.
"Of course, it does. You do not seem like someone from the human world. You are from the Crystal world, right?" Walter asked sternly and stood up. He looked better now. But I was still trembling not because of fear, I was feeling cold and heat together.
"Yes, I am and I'm afraid if you know about my identity, you won't believe me." Masked savior said.
They both were standing, looking so tall and dominant. I leaned with the tree not feeling well.
"Who are you?" Walter asked. I wanted to ask but I felt unable to spoke. My breath was harsh.
"Annabella, she planned to attack the guardian town on crown ceremony day. Don't you dare to perform the crown ceremony without teaching her full control over her power and without Annabella's weakness. You should find her weakness first. Otherwise, you won't defeat her." Masked savior warned, ignoring Walter's question.
"How do you know that?" Walter asked and my vision started to go on the way of darkness as black dots appeared in front of my eyes and everything blurred. I barely managed to whisper, "Wal.....Walter!"
"Princess!!!! What happened?" Walter hurriedly bent down and touched my forehead.
"Take her inside the house. She's sick. I'll come again to tell you 'Who I am'?'" With this, I took the subway to the valley of my darkness. Where the dark black valley was always ready to welcome me.
Darkness. Everywhere was pure darkness. I couldn't see a thing over here. Nothing. There was nothing that could give you the description of that place but pure black darkness.
As always I was not running. I stood in the dark alley might be in the middle, end, or far corner, it could be anywhere since I won't see anything. I looked around but no light, not even a hint of it. 'You may be the light.' The voice of that old mysterious woman echoed in my mind.
I use the ability of Pyrokinesis to built a small fireball above my palm of the right hand. There was a light, at least that word had sense. It means might be I could found something in that alley.
As the fire add some light in the darkness, I came to see that it was a long, long way that led to a far dark end. I started to take steps forward. My footsteps were making the sound of click-clack.
Pure silence.
There was a pure pin drop silence which was increasing my heartbeat at an alarming speed. On both sides, there were pitch black rocky walls. That place looked like a never-ending tunnel.
I felt nausea, frightened, and more curious as I continued to walk. An unknown fear hit me and I started to run. I run and run and run and stopped by a sudden, familiar sound. That sound was still the same, in the same rhythm. But......but this time, it did not freeze me.
The scene around me changed in a quick move like the wind blow everything away. I looked around fearful and bewildered. Now, there was a dark black place with a throne in front of me at some distance. A girl with her back facing me stood there.
That sound was continuously blooming. Fast, loud, faster, louder. She shrieked loudly, like in pain. My breath was harsh and my heartbeat was fast.
With trembling footsteps and hand, I stepped towards her. I touched her shoulder and with a loud, very painful scream. She converted into stone. A statue of stone. I moved around to saw a clear view of her face and when I saw it...... My eyes grew so big...
I SCREAMED!
