Chapter 85: Chapter 85
No One Pov's
.
Aaron and Aana were searching for a ring in Aaron's room after checking into her room. He was looking at the bed and the couch where Rex and Alice cuddled at night. Tears were not ready to stop falling from her eyes.
"Aana... please stop crying. Ring must be here only. We will find it." Aaron muttered helplessly, hating to see her crying like this. Aana nodded her head negatively.
"It's all my fault, Aaron. I can't take care of a single thing. First I lost him and now I lost the only thing I had of him. I'm useless" She muttered, wiping her tears, and sat on the bed.
"Please don't say like this Aana" He muttered and sat beside her.
"Why do you always do this to me? Why?" She yelled, looking upward, questioning the moon goddess…
"First you snatch him from me and now you snatch his memorial also. Can't you see me happy?" She complained like a toddler who is angry at his mother but then immediately realised it was her mistake then why was she blaming the moon goddess?
"Why am I blaming you when it's my fault?" She muttered and stood up from the bed, wiping her ears
"I should search for the ring" She mumbled to herself and was about to go outside when he held her hand.
"Where are you going?" He asked anxiously. He is controlling himself by not yelling at her as Aana made her condition worse by continuously crying. Her whole face turned red, her hair scattered and she was wearing the same dress that she wore yesterday.
"I'm going to search in your car. Maybe it fell into your car" She mumbled.
"You only told me that you had seen the ring on your finger at night." He said and pulled her into a hug but she distanced herself.
"It must be my imagination. I might have lost it before entering my room."
"Pearl" He called her helplessly, not able to understand what he should do or say to her.
"I know, I'm sounding like a lunatic but you only tell me what I should do? I lost him and now his ring." She tightened her quivering lips, trying not to break down in front of him. Aana distances herself from him.
"I will search everywhere I can to find the ring." She muttered and ran outside towards his car.
"You were wrong Rex, If Alice had hidden the ring, she would have told Pearl till now" He mindlink his wolf who was silent the entire time. Aaron can understand Rex's feelings as he was feeling the same Mixed feeling. He was feeling envious of Vince and at the same time feeling miserable and helpless seeing her crying and in pain of losing her love memorable.
"That fucking ring" He groaned frustratingly and went towards the parking area, only to find Aana searching for her ring like a maniac. She scratched the leather of the sheet with her claws.
"Pearl" Aana came to him.
"It's not even here" She cried and ran outside the parking area and started searching in the garden of Aaron's house. He held her elbow and made her turn towards him.
"Aana calm down"
"Leave me... I need to find a ring" She snarled, started trying to push him away but he tightened his grip, not letting her go.
"Pearl"
"Leave me, Aaron"
"Calm down, Pearl."
"I said leave me" She yelled and pushed him using her full force. He looked at her, helplessly. She wiped her tears and was about to start searching again when he went near her and hugged her from behind. She stopped and her tears fell on his hands. He looked at the drops of her precious tears. Tears brimmed in his eyes, feeling her pain through a mate bond. He turned her towards him and wiped her tears.
"I have to find the ring"
"Here in the garden? Where you haven't come even for once" He frowned. Aana looked at him dumbstruck as realisation hit her. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. He wiped her tears. She opened her eyes and pushed him away.
"You're right... I should search in the places where I went last night." His eyes widened upon hearing her. He didn't think that Aana would still continue her search and thought to go everywhere just for a ring.
"I should go there," She muttered.
"I will take you," he said when she was about to go alone. She looked at him with teary eyes and then nodded her head.
"Thank you" she mumbled and went towards the parking area. She was about to sit inside the car but stopped to see the condition of the car. She destroyed his car seats.
"I'm sorry" she apologised looking at him. He nodded his head negatively.
"It's okay. we will take my other car" he muttered and went inside the house to bring the keys.
Aana takes Aaron to various places to search for her ring while Alice is silent all the time. She was feeling guilty for hiding the ring. For a moment, she thought to reveal the truth but then the thought of Aana's reaction to her action scared her. She was sure that if Aana got to know that she hid the ring so that Aana moved on with their mate then Aana will again reject their mate in anger which is the last thing Alice wants.
Aana became silent when she didn't find her ring. Aaron sighed and cursed himself for not being able to find a single ring. He looked at his girl who was not crying like before but was sitting silently like a corpse.
"Pearl" he called her, after parking the car in the parking area of his house. He tightened his lips to control his anger when Aana didn't respond to him.
Aaron hopped down from the car and went to her side to pick her up in his arms. He brought her inside the house and made her sit on the couch and went to the kitchen to bring water for her. He extended the glass towards her but Aana didn't respond. She was blaming herself for not being able to take care of her simple ring, the last belonging of her love.
"Pearl" He kept the glass on the table and sat beside her.
"Please don't stay like this. I can't see you in this condition." He muttered. Aana didn't respond, kept looking at the finger on which she was wearing her ring.
"Please say something... If you want to cry then ok... If you want to scream at me then do it but please don't stay like this... Quiet... Your silence is scaring me, Aana" He muttered.
"Please talk to him, Aana. He is worried for you" Alice mindlink her but still, Aana didn't say a word to Aaron.
"Why are you reacting as if someone has died? It was just a fucking ring" he growled. She looked at him abruptly, not expecting him to say something like this. She shook her head and then smiled.
"Yeah... It was just a freaking ring" She chuckled.
"I'm sorry... I didn't mean that. You were not responding to me and it was making me furious and I uttered what came to my mind. I'm"
"I'm sorry" She muttered, cutting him in between. He scrunched his eyebrows not getting why she was saying sorry.
"The photo frame of your parents, which was in my room, got broken accidentally with my hand when I was searching for a ring... I'm sorry" she muttered.
"What the fuck?" He yelled and stood up from the couch.
"How could you be so careless, Aana?" He growled and ran towards her room. He directly looked at the wall and then sighed in relief after finding the frame in a good condition, hanging on the wall.
"If it is okay then why did she say that the frame is broken?" He frowned and turned to go near her but stopped, finding her standing at the door.
"Why did you run like a maniac? It was just a freaking photo frame" She said in the same tone as he yelled at her. Aaron bows his head realising his mistake. For a moment, he forgot to take a breath when Aana lied to him. Now, he realised why she was searching for her ring like a maniac. He was getting annoyed with every passing moment when Aana was searching for her ring but now her simple lie made him realise the importance of that ring in her life.
"I'm sorry" He muttered.
"I didn't lie to you for making you feel guilty. I just wanted you to stop forcing me to be okay" She muttered with teary eyes and sat on the bed.
"If you don't mind, can you please leave me alone for a while"
"But Pearl"
"Please Aaron," she said, emphasising the word, please. He nodded his head and left the room, giving her space.
.
A week was about to pass but Aana didn't stop her search. Alice intentionally hides the ring below the files inside the drawer where no one can think of finding the ring there. Aana became silent again like before. She rarely talks to anyone. She again stops responding to Alice and with Aaron, she talks about work only. While Aaron and Rex were getting furious at the way, Aana was ignoring them like it was their fault because of which she lost her ring.
After five days, he even picked up a fight with her and yelled at her for ignoring him. He let out all his frustration at her while Aana listened to him without saying a word. He started feeling like she doesn't even care about him and despite sharing his feelings with her about being ignored, she didn't change and kept ignoring her.
Aaron was seated in his cabin, staring at Aana who was doing her work sitting at her desk.
"Why are you punishing me, Aana, for a crime that I have not committed?" he thought and wiped the tear from the corner of his eyes.
