"Would you now tell me the truth or should I ask your mate who is also involved in it?" Aana asked, raising her eyebrow, giving Alice a mini heart attack in fear of getting caught. She immediately gave control to Aana and hid somewhere in her mind, blocking her so that Aana couldn't ask anything from her.

Aana sighed and crossed her hand around her chest and looked at Aaron who was clueless about everything.

"What are you hiding mate?" She looked at him suspiciously when a smile came on his lips instead of a perturbed look.

"Why are you smiling?" She asked, raising her eyebrow, not getting the reason behind his smile.

"Unknowingly you called me 'mate' " Her eyes widened upon hearing him. He chuckled and moved closer to her.

"You accept me and Rex or not but your heart already accepts us" Aana looks into his eyes, trying her best to show that his proximity is not affecting her. That's a different story, Aaron and Aana both know how their closeness affects them and their increased heartbeat is proof of it.

"It's nothing like that" She snapped at him.

"Ohh really?" he asked, teasing her. He moved his face closer to her, making her lose her sanity.

"Y--Yes" She stuttered

"What yes, Aana?"

"I-- I" She was not finding any words to utter because of the closeness. She rejected Aaron, breaking the mate bond but still, his closeness was affecting her. He smiled and kissed her left cheek.

"Don't be late to the office. I will wait for you" He muttered and moved away from her.

"Okay?" He asked her to which she nodded meekly. He smiled before sitting in the car and drove back to his home to get ready while Aana was trying to calm herself and accommodate whatever happened. She touched her cheek where he kissed her.

"What kind of feeling is this? Why always lose myself near him? All I remember is him and his closeness. I feel like he is my world and I don't need anything when he is near me." She mumbled to herself and then shook her head negatively, realising what she uttered just now.

"What is happening to me? I should not think like this" She muttered to herself and again back to her room. She was thinking about every moment she spent with Aaron biting her thumbnail with a pure smile on her face.

"He never leaves a chance to leave me speechless" She chuckled.

"He is awesome, right?" Alice asked, teasingly.

"Yes… He is"

"Do you like him?" She asked, hoping to hear the truth. Aana smiled at her wolf question.

"I would have if Vince hadn't come into my life" Aana muttered politely, not wanting to hurt Alice. Aana didn't drag the topic of yesterday as it was of no use. Alice wouldn't reply to her and Aaron would change the topic instead of answering. Aana gets ready for the office. She came out of her room and found his brother's room locked. John and Elsa left three days ago for a trip without informing her where they are going. It is not that she is complaining because leaving with Elsa is like leaving with a cunning witch.

Aana opened the fridge to check for something to eat but there was nothing except bread, that too was stale.

She sighed and took that bread to eat as she was starving. That's when she remembered Vince's words.

"You shouldn't eat anything, Aana. It's not good. You should take care of your health. if not for yourself then for me" Vince said those words while placing a cool, damp washcloth on Aana's forehead as she had a high fever.

Tears brimmed in her eyes remembering that moment while Alice also whimpered sensing her human pain. Aana kept that bread packet again in the fridge and came out of the building after locking her flat.

"I could hunt if you want" Alice suggested to cheer up her human.

"No... I'm fine. Moreover don't forget you can't stay longer in wolf form because of the presence of wolfsbane presence in our body"

"Yeah" Alice muttered, feeling sad that she couldn't do a simple hunt for her human.

"I'm sorry, Alice"

"Don't be dumb. It was not your fault."

"Then you also don't get upset because it's not your fault that you can't go hunting" Aana replied and looked at Aaron's office. She didn't realise when she reached there while talking to Alice.

After reaching the office, Aaron's secretary gives Aana the work related to what Aaron taught her the day before yesterday. She did her work perfectly but she was missing Aaron who didn't show up since she came. It was lunchtime when someone came to her with a parcel of food.

Aana asked the peon who sent it but got no useful answer and he didn't know who sent the parcel. A delivery boy gave him the parcel to hand over to Aana.

She opened the parcel. It had meat and the amount of food was enough to feel her stomach. Alice started jumping into Aana's mind because of happiness as she was also starving like her. Somewhere Aana and Alice both knew who sent that parcel but at that moment, Aana was ravenous that's why she didn't pay any heed and started eating.

Aaron passed a smile seeing Aana eating the food that he ordered for her. The way she was eating was enough for him to know that he was right. She was starving. He was seated inside the cabin, looking at her through the mirror. Since morning he was staring at her and the fact that she can't see inside the cabin from outside was a plus point for him. He could stare at her as much as he wanted and she couldn't say a thing to him.

Aaron was going through her bio-data when he noticed her qualification. She was good at managing things and also received awards and appraisal certificates for it. He knew from the start that Aana was perfect for his assistant job. It was just that he wanted to prepare her for that.

After lunch hour, Aaron called Aana into his cabin. She was surprised when she came to know that he was in office only and at the same time, she felt bad that he didn't come to meet her even for once, despite being there.

She knocked on the door. That's when he looked up and their eyes met. Only she knows how much she misses this eye contact with him since morning. Unknowingly, only in a few days, he becomes her habit and addiction. Aaron broke eye contact, trying his best to stay in boss mode.

"Aana, I saw your qualifications. It says you're good at managing things" Aaron muttered, pretending to be looking into files. He looked up getting no response only to find her digging a hole in his head through her eyes.

"What happened?" He asked, not able to understand the reason for her anger.

"Nothing" She snarled, getting furious at him for calling her Aana instead of Pearl but then all her anger flew away when she realised what she was doing. Before she was mad at him for calling her Pearl and now she only wants him to call her by that name.

"I'm going insane" She mumbled to herself.

"What?" Aaron asked, not getting why she uttered those words.

"I was talking to myself not you" She growled, making him shut his mouth. Aana herself could not understand what was happening to her while Alice was happy seeing their mate's effect on her. Aaron raised her eyebrow seeing her temper then smiled seeing her angry instead of seeing pain and fear in her eyes.

"Do you know you look gorgeous and hot when you're hungry? '' He complimented her, again shocking her with his words. He always made her dumbstruck with his words.

"What did you say?"

"You didn't hear me? Or you wanted me to compliment you again" He said, teasing her more. Aana rolled her eyes seeing his smirking, knowing that now he is pulling her leg.

"I was waiting for the moment when he would actually pull our legs towards him and part them away. So that he can pound his not-so-little member in our cunt" Alice mindlink Aana, widening her eyes.

"What the fuck, Alice" Aana yelled and cover her face with both of her hands.

"What? I just share my thoughts" Alice muttered licking her paw.

"You're crazy"

"No… I'm not. Just imagine when he will be inside" Aana blocked Alice before she could complete. She removed her hand from her face and started doing reverse counting to distract her mind which went in a dirty direction because of Alice's words. After a while, her eyes went to Aaron who noticed her every action.

"Are you thinking about me, Pearl?" He asked with a smirk while her eyes widened upon hearing his words.
