Chapter 97: Chapter 97

The party started. All the decorations were done it was to take place in the big hall of the company. And the decorations was worthy of praise.

There was enough food of assorted types.

The gifts for the children had also been transfered to the venue and buses made available to convey the children who live far from the company to the venue.

It had been agreed that the children would be attended to first and their gifts given them and then afterwards,later,the main party would commerce.

The children ate to their hearts' content and even had food packaged for them to take home. Nancy was in charge of this together with Anna.

'This idea of yours is really worthy of a trophy. I will not be surprised if you are promoted die to this. This is real advert for the company. I do not know why I had not thought of it first'.

Nancy laughed and patted her on the back.

'You could ha e thought of it too. I just happened to think of it first but you will give us a better idea next time' she consoled.

'But your idea will become a tradition. Jason will continue this every year from hence forth. You can bet on that. And your gown is the best. Can you see the way, every one seem to be staring at you? The women are green with envy, I am sure and the men are wondering why they had not asked you out on a date.

Don't be surprised at how many dance mates you will have to ight. But I am sure you did not buy this gown yourself. It must have been a gift from our good boss and he can't seem to take his eyes off you'.

Nancy smiled and looked inadvertently towards Jason who winked at her smiling.

She blushed and Anna sighed.

'You have been pretty secretive lately. You have not told me how far you and the boss had gone but I can guess that it is very far, seeing the way the both of you can't seem to take your eyes off each other and I know that if not for the crowd, you may not be able to take your hands off each other. I know the feeling. The way you both are exchanging loving and lustful looks, Speaks volumes'.

'Anna, you talk too much. Let's continue what we ate doing please!'

'You are hedging but it does not negate the truth'.

After feeding the children, they proceeded to give them their gifts and they were all happy. They danced and we're soon on their way home.

The party started in full swing'and Jason came up to Nancy.

'I shall have the first dance Nancy. Remember that'.

Nancy blushed looking round to see if anyone had seen them.

What is wrong with me? Even if we had been seen, they will assume that my boss came to give me some instructions but my reaction is what might give me away. Stay cool, she counselled herself. She looked round and saw Jason speaking to some guests.

Phoebe had noticed how Jason and Nancy had been stealing glances at each other like two people in love. She knew that Jason would want to dance with Nancy and she was determined that she would dance the most with Jason and not Nancy.

She was happy that that stupid woman who was Jason's sister was in support of her. Sally had even advised her to pack in immediately after Christmas. She was going to take advantage of her presence and do just that.

The problem she had with that was that it would not give her time to meet with other men especially Romeo but she would find a way round it. Afterall, they did not go to her store with her. She could go from there to anywhere of her choice before coming back to the mansion.

It was time for dancing and Phoebe came immediately to Jason to drag him off to the dance floor.

'Excuse me dance?' she smiled at Jason.

'Excuse me. I need to speak with someone. Maybe later'. Jason said and walked towards Nancy and took her hand before any other man could because he had seen how they had been staring at her.

As they moved to the dance floor, the music turned to a slow one.

And Jason drew Nancy so close, it was almost as though, they were glued to each other.

The close proximity was doing things to both of them. Jason wished they were alone. He felt a great, uncontrollable urge to kiss her. Her lips were just too luscious and inviting. It was made for kissing. He knew he would never get tired of kissing her as long as he lived.

Nancy mist have read his intentions.

'Jason, remember we are in a crowd and all eyes are on us'.

Luckily, the music ended and not to make people suspicious, he danced with Phoebe who took every advantage to draw her body close to his. But it only irritated him but he suffered it because he did not want to seem too obvious. But he kept praying for the dance to end.

Rebecca made her entrance. She liked being fashionably late.

She watched the activities for some time and as soon as the music ended, she went for Jason and he was taken by surprise because he had not expected her to be there.

Sally saw this and was seething.

She would rather have Nancy in her brother's life than that heartless treacherous bitch, if she could not manage to get Jason to marry Phoebe.

Nancy saw all these and was jealous but she pretended not to be affected. She was dancing with different partners but she knew that she would have to sit down soon so that she would not faint out of dizziness.

One particular partner was someone she did not know but who was paying particular attention to her.

'My name is Alfred and you are?' he asked smiling charmingly at Nancy.

Trying to be polite, Nancy gave him her dazzling smile.

'I am Nancy. It is a pleasure meeting you'.

'Oh no. The pleasure is all mine'.

They danced so well together and Nancy actually enjoyed dancing with him, he was a jovial person. She smiled and laughed at his jokes and Jason who had been watching them was filled with fury.

'Why was Nancy laughing and holding that man so close? What is happening between them?'

He wanted to go to them but he had to hold himself in check but his dancing partner saw that his attention was else where and that his flexible body was now taut with tension.

'Are you in love with her?' she asked.

Jason looked at her and smiled.

'Deborah, you look amazing tonight. Did I tell you that?'

Deborah blushed with pleasure. She had been trying to get Jason to notice her and his compliment really made her feel flattered.

Jason had said that to divert her attention from Nancy. He was no longer enjoying the dance but for Deborah's benefit, he smiled and swing her round and she could not stop smiling.
