Chapter 179: Chapter 179

Time always flies when you are having fun. Nancy had the best moments of her life from the honey moon and afterwards when they got back.

She refused to stay home but continued to work in the company till it was time for her to give birth.

Three months flew by so quickly and one night, Nancy had been making love with Jason.

The doctor had advised that if it didn't cause pain, then they could continue their sexual activity.

The date that scan gave her had already passed and when she complained to her gynecologist, she had asked her to do little exercises.

So they were making love that night and she was lost in the throes of pleasure and her peak was coming very quickly when she felt the first stab of pain. She ignored it, thinking that it was nothing. Then there was another stab of pain and she screamed. Jason noted immediately that the scream could not possibly be one of pleasure and tried to stop his thrusts but Nancy would not hear of it,not when she was close to her peak.

Thankfully, she reached orgasm and Jason followed her down the cliff as well.

That was when she decided to find out the reason for the sudden pain. The pain stab again. As she got down from the bed, she saw blood coming out from between her thighs and rushed into the washroom asking Jason to get the bag she had prepared for the hospital.

After bathing, she found Jason already waiting with the bag.

He helped her descend the stairs and they got into the car asking Mrs. Potts to take care of the house as they were going to the hospital. Mrs. Potts kept praying for Nancy that it would be a safe delivery. She knew Jason got the best of everything for her for the birth, including the best doctors in the field, yet she prayed.

At the hospital,the doctor wore her gloves and checked her telling her that she had dilated about three centimeters.

When it was time for her to bear down and push out the baby, she found that the labour had stopped somewhat and she had to just push.

When the doctor checked again, she told her that the baby was coming POP. Literally meaning that the baby was coming faced up and that she would have to operate on her to get the baby out but she would not hear of it.

'Is there no other way?' she asked.

'You will have to push out the baby without much help from the baby itself. You will be doing almost all the work. We are here to assist you of course but it is not a very funny experience', she said.

'I'd rather try that. The caesarian session should be the last resort. That is what I believe'.

True to what she had been told, the force with which the pain had been coming was no longer felt. Nancy knew from all the pregnancy and birth books she had read that it should be increasing in intensity and the time interval growing shorter but it was different but the experienced doctor knew when to ask her to bear down and she did with all her strength.

It was not easy,it was as though the baby was not willing to come out. She pushed and the doctor helped. As the head finally came out, Nancy was asked to stop pushing so that they could find out of there was a cord round it's neck and when it was ascertained that there was none, she was asked to push one more time and then the doctor pulled the baby out of her with her gloved hands.

Nancy collapsed, deeply exhausted. It was not an easy one at all.

The nurses there took the baby away to clean her up. The doctor gave Nancy an injection and some drugs and then pulled out the placenta and cleaned her up.Dressing her properly.

The baby was brought and placed on her chest and Nancy was filled with joy at the sight of her baby.

She could not believe that this bundle of joy was hers. It still seemed like a dream to her.

Jason had wanted to be there to experience the birth but Nancy would not hear of it and if he had been, he would have supported that the caesarian session be carried out because he would have been able to bear seeing her in pain.

'You went for scan several times and not in any of them was it stated that the baby was lying faced up', the doctor told Nancy conversationally.

'I do not know why. Could it have been a last minute occurrence?'' Nancy asked.

'It is likely but it is possible that the other children you will have will come faced up as well of the necessary precautions are not followed', she said thoughtfully.

'What precautions?' Nancy was anxious to know.

'Well you will be told at the time, it is still too early talking about that now, just breast feed you baby. She is going to be really greedy. Look at the way she is already sucking her clenched fists. But just make sure that you bend a little more when you are pregnant so that facing up will not be comfortable for the child and he would have no option. it to turn to a more comfortable position which will be facing down as it should. Don't worry it will be okay. We are all here for you'.

Nancy nodded and brought out her breasts and the force with which the baby pulled the nipple into her mouth made the doctor and Nancy laugh. Jason who was looking on, fascinated at the miracle before his eyes laughed as well. 'She is going to be a glutton just like me!' Jason boasted.

Nancy could not help but start laughing at the expression of awe on his face.

She knew he was going to be very possessive of their daughter as he was of her.

After that day, Jason took them home after the necessary tests and injections had been given to both the mother and child.

Mrs. Potts was there to spoil the girl silly. 'What name have you chosen for the girl?' she asked.

'Jaselyn' Nancy said, 'For Jason'.

'Nectalyn', Jason contradicted. 'Because she is my nectar just like her mother'.

'Is her name going to be a reason for controversy now? Please it is better you agree on one before it is too late!' Mrs. Potts said amused.

'Why not allow her have both names? It is not unheard of', Nancy said.

'I have a better Idea. Why don't we join the names to make one unique one? Like Jasnectar?'

'Does that not sound male? Why don't we just give her something good like Josephine? then your love name for her can be anything you choose', Mrs. Potts said.

They both considered it and agreed that it was a great name and her suggestion about a pet name was also ideal and so the new baby girl was named: Josephine Campbell.
