Afterwards, as their breathing calmed, Nancy had to admit that though her experiences were limited, she had never had it this good before. It was the best sex she had ever had and she instinctively knew that no other man could make her feel the way that Jason makes her feel and how he made her feel with his overpowering lovemaking. She wondered why it had taken her that long to accept his attentions. Better late than never. Maybe the waiting had also enhanced the pleasure.

She recalled Rodney, she had not really felt any earth quaking during her intimate moments with him but she had loved him and felt that covered it but he still had not been appreciative of her love and even now, he still did not have honourable intentions towards her. Look at what he put her through at the lodge and all that she would have still gone through if she had not been smart enough to outsmart him.

Then all that he and his henchman Maze had tried to pull at the hospital and then after the court hearing, the threat he had made. She should tell Jason about it but she didn't want him troubling himself but she knew that Rodney was capable of anything especially when he was antagonized or jealous and she felt that he was jealous of Jason and didn't know why. It couldn't just be because of the fact that she was now with Jason definitely. There must be some other reason. Maybe he recognized in Jason, the virtues lacking in him? He realised that Jason was a better man than he? Whatever it was, it was definitely eating him up inside for him to have threatened her and her unborn child.

'Don't gloat yet, Miss Jones. You have not yet won. In fact the battle is far from being over', he had said. 'You will not know happiness with your lover. I shall come for my child and if I can't have it, then neither will you and your lover have the baby as well'.

'Is this a threat?' she had asked. Going against her decision to ignore him. How could she when he had mentioned her baby? Her maternal instincts had come to the fire.

He had laughed maliciously. 'No my dear, it is not a threat but a promise. I keep such promises as these, you know that of course'.

She knew fully well that he did. The promises he found difficult to keep was the good ones because there was no element of kindness in him.

She had looked at him and shook her head and had whispered back harshly in fear. 'You cannot do anything to me nor my baby and I shall make sure that you never have him and he will never know you as his biological father. He is better of without you. Who would want to have a father like you? Definitely not my child!'

He had laughed the more and the sound had been very chilling to her marrow. Since then, she had known no peace and though the lovemaking she just had with Jason had been ecstatic, she could still not forget that threat nor that devilish laughter.

'What is it dear? Did I hurt you? Are you sorry?'

'For what? For the most wonderful experience of my life?', she asked smiling with genuine pleasure at him. 'No. I have no regrets. Only that we waited too long to experience this wonder together'.

He smiled, he had also felt like he was drowning in a pool of pleasure and had groaned her name as he came.

'Then what has got you this worried?'

'Is it really that obvious?' She had not wanted to tell Jason but she didn't think that she could keep it from him. If she really wanted to beat Rodney, then Jason had to know so that they could beat him together.

'It's Rodney!'

'Rodney? What about him?'

She told him all that he had threatened at the court that last day.

'I tried to put up a brave front but I was really scared. I know that he is capable of any evil he ate his mind out to do and if he succeeds, what evidence do we have against him because he might still be in prison and that would be his Alibi'.

'And you are scared? You do not have faith in me at all. Do you mean you do not trust that I am able to protect you and our child?' he asked unhappily.

'It is not that but you cannot be with me everytime. He could time the attack for when I am most vulnerable and no one around to help. What would I do then?'

'Don't worry. We still have about three months to prepare a counter attack. Even at the hospital where you will be giving birth, there shall be enough security. You just rest assured that good will always triumph over evil. There is no way he can defeat us. I shall not allow it. He knows that he cannot win against me and that is why he hates me so much'.

Nancy was relieved. Now that she had told Jason and had got the assurance from him, she felt reassured. She hugged him in gratitude.

'You'd better be careful with these hugs of yours because I shall not be responsible for anything that happens afterwards'.

'Ehat could possibly happen? I thought you were a virile man but I can see that you are very weak. So weak that you are afraid of being intimate with a pregnant woman. Just once and you are already tired'.

'Don't you date me. It is you I feel for. I believe that you need your test and do not need to stress yourself too much'.

'Excuses and excuses. If I am not complaining, why should you?'

Jason did not want to pass up that challenge as he pulled her to him again and the love play started afresh with moans and groans filling the air.

Mrs. Potts who had wanted to come and find out if Nancy wanted something before she finally retired for the night, heard the muffled groans and moans from outside the door and smiled as she went back to retire for the night.

'It was long overdue!' she thought to herself as she could not stop smiling with happiness. Both of them, Nancy and her boss deserved to be happy and could only find the happiness together.

As Nancy slept that night, Jason could not sleep. He was glad that he had been able to take her mind of Rodney and his threat but he could not take the threat lightly. He had to put things in place that would ensure the safety of Nancy and the baby.

He had acted as though it was a mere threat but knowing Rodney,he was capable of almost anything evil like Nancy had rightly said but he had failed this time. Because he would have the fury of a husband and a father to contend with.

Jason realised that the night had taken him by surprise but it would have been the most perfect opportunity to propose to Nancy but her thoughts had been preoccupied with thoughts of Rodney's Threats and now she was sleeping. He would have to wait till a more opportune time.

He turned around to face her and looked at her tenderly. Nancy had gone through alot' and he wanted to ensure that she didn't have to go through any more painful experiences.

That was the last thought he had in his mind as he succumbed to sleep.
