Jason went straight in and finding Phoebe in his room, decided to speak to her.

'Phoebe, I know that this might seem odd to you and I hope you understand but you see, I have been thinking that we should get a second opinion concerning that paternity test you took the other time. I am saying this so that you get yourself prepared for it'.

'You don't say! You mean you doubt me or is it your most trusted friend and doctor that you doubt? Do you sincerely doubt his capabilities or is it just because your liver says so?' she asked feigning incredibility.

'It is not that. I need to prove to myself and others that the test results were right. And anyway, you did accept to do it if it was going to put us all at ease didn't you?'

'I did but...'

'Well, what has changed since then? If the results were not tampered with, then you should be confident enough to go through it again to prove to the whole world that your claim is justified'.

'If that is really what you want and if it would make you happy, then, I shall gladly do it. But where are we going to carry it out this time? Which hospital?' she asked.

Jason remembered Nancy advising that no one should know the venue.

'Even I don't know yet but I shall make a decision before we set out. In two days, I'd like for it to be redone. Get prepared'.

'In two days? What is the rush?' Phoebe was shocked and she did not even know the place so that she could make arrangements'.

'Yes, there is a need for it. Tick says the time and we have to do whatever is needed to be done fast. Remember that the lives of a lot of people are at stake here!' he said thinking about how his life would be without Nancy in it. And getting married to her would not only make sure she was his completely and permanently but would give her child legitimacy and help his case in court against Richmond peradventure he decided to make good his threats and sue them to court for the custody or paternity of the child.

Phoebe knew that Jason was doing all these to please Nancy or to enable him get married to Nancy at the earliest

It irked her to see that they kept getting closer no matter what she did or the problem life threw their way.

Nancy's pregnancy alone was enough to keep them apart but no, she was not even sure if it was the one thing that bonded them in the first place, afterall,he saved her when she was about commiting suicide out of desperation.

'Rodney will have to come up with a plan at the earliest. In fact sooner than he had planned', she thought to herself and she was going to call him to make sure of that because she did not know how to delay Jason's decision to visit the doctor in two days.

'Two days! My goodness. It is already here!' she wailed internally.

'Okay, you have it. I am ready anytime you are. And I totally agree with you, the earlier, the better so that we can start our wedding preparations', she said with a confidence she did not feel.

Jason looked at her and wanted to ask her to stop dreaming about a wedding that would never take place but he kept quiet.

'She will know in due course', he thought.

She went out. She needed to be with Romeo. The apartment was suffocating her but before then she had to call Rodney and ask him to hasten his plans further. There was no time.

She made a call to Rodney.

'Hello Mr. Richmond',

'Hello Phoebe. I thought we were now on first name basis? Has something changed that?'

'Oh sorry about that. I forgot due to my agitation. And yes something haad indeed happened.

Jason had proposed to Nancy and they are making preparations to get married so as to counter whatever court orders you might serve them.

Being married will give them an edge over you. I call to urge to to hasten whatever plan you have concerning your live Nancy before she is lost to you forever. If they get married,the possibility of you getting her back is null and I am speaking from experience'.

Rodney had no intention of going to the court. It had been a mere threat on his part.But now, he had to do something drastic. Desperate situations calls for desperate measures.

'Thank you very much for this information but do you know when they propose to get married?' he asked, his brain seeking for a way to make sure the wedding never took place.

'It is possible it will take place in two days judging from what I heard. So whatever you do, put the next two days in your plans because after that, it might not be possible anymore'.

Two days? his mind screamed. How could he possibly make a plan within two days? But like she said, it was better if he did something fast and he was going to do just that. Jason would not even see it coming.

'Rodney? Are still there?'

'I am pretty. Before the wedding can take place, there shall be an uproar because, there will be no need for the wedding anymore'.

'What do you mean, 'no need for the wedding anymore?' What are you planning to do?' she asked not sure if he got the gravity of the situation.

'That is for me to carry out and for you to find out?' he said boastfully and cit the call.

Phoebe sincerely hoped that he knew what he was doing. She had said two days because she did not want to have to go for the test. She was not sure that she would be able to manipulate it this time and she needed her lie to remain undetected and her secret should remain secret.

He had gone out to make the call and now that she was done with the first thing she had to do, she needed some relaxation and that means doing the second thing in her agenda.
