Chapter 116: Chapter 116

'Who marries a woman who is pregnant with another man's child?' Rodney asked and Nancy recalled her shock at Jason's declaration.

Did he just say that just to put Rodney off and prevent him from taking her or did he seriously mean it? He had not told her he was considering marrying her.

'It has been done before. I am not going to be the first man to do it and even if I were, then I'll gladly do it. You do not know how to treat a woman. You have made known your ignorance by the words you just uttered.

Who marries an already pregnant woman indeed!'

'I have come peacefully. Give me what is rightfully mine. If you stay stubborn, then I will see redress in a court of law!'

'I am expecting your summons'.

Phoebe who had been eavesdropping, tiptoed away. She had heard what she wanted to hear.

The study door was sound proof but they had left it slightly open and she had been able to hear all they said. She was going to use it to her advantage.

Rodney left in fury, feeling like a failure. He could not afford to go to a court of law because it would definitely come to his wife's notice and tight now,he was frightened of his wife more than he had been previously. She was like a dynamite awaiting to explode and he was not about to activate it.

But he would also not take this insult that Jason had given him lying low. He would devise a means of getting Nancy, even if he had to abduct her.

If he cannot have her, then Jason would definitely not as well.

He recalled how beautiful she had looked at the picture taken of her at the party and how you very and sexy she looked as he beheld her. He had been so sure that she would come running into his arms so that he could get her an apartment and keep her for his pleasure and as his revenge against his wife as he plotted against her and her family. But it had not worked out that way. it he believed that where there was a will, there was surely a way.

And he would find a way to make things right for himself.

He was still fuming as he went to his car and opened the door but was surprised by a lovely woman who stepped out behind a car and accosted him.

'I can help you if you wish, Mr. Richmond'.

He shut the car door again and faced the woman.

'What do you mean Pretty and how do you know that I might need your help?' he smiled thinking of a possible way of making her one of his ladies.

'I heard your discussion with Jason and Nancy just now but it might help if I introduced myself'.

'I am Phoebe Walkman. I am pregnant with Jason's child but he does not want to acknowledge it because he is deeply in love with Nancy and you heard him say that he wanted to get married to her. When he was supposed to be announcing our engagement and marriage'.

Rodney saw where the discussion was leading. Here he was thinking of a way to get back Nancy and someone was willing to help him without him asking. Things seemed to be looking up.

'And why would you want to help me or more importantly, why would I need your help? I am well able to manage my affairs myself, thank you'.

'You do not understand. You need someone from the inside, else you will never succeed. You want Nancy and I want Jason. We have a common goal.

We can help each other. I can help you get her just so long as you get her out of the way for me to marry my child's father. That way, we both will get what we desire, do we have a deal?.Phoebe asked offering him her hand for a handshake.

'Deal! Though I must admit that getting you also in the bargain would not be a bad idea, will you be willing?'

'You better concentrate on what you came for. Other considerations may come later!' she said looking at him meaningfully.

Rodney felt that he already liked this Phoebe woman. He would use her to get back at Jason in more ways than one.

'I will tell you of my plans once I think of a fool proof one. How can I contact you?', he asked.

'It had better be soon, else you might lose her forever and believe me, you will not stand a chance at a court of law', Phoebe said, giving him her calling card.

Rodney nodded. He wasn't about to ruin his chances at getting Nancy back, getting back at Jason fir all his atrocities against him and defeating his wife and her family by going to a law court.

'You will hear from me soon!' he said, going into his car and driving off, feeling happier and purposeful than when he had first come out of Jason's mansion.

Phoebe also felt happier. So, Jason had planned to go ahead and marry Nancy and not her who was supposedly pregnant for him?

It reminded her that he was planning on seeking a second opinion about the DNA test and she now realised that he must believe all that Nancy had told him of her pregnancy results being doctored.

But if Rodney can come up with a plan fast enough, then the attention would be diverted from her to Nancy and the test forgotten and who knows, Jason might accept her and her baby then without question.

The new year was fast approaching and she had to do something pretty fast.

She went back in, happier than she had been in a long while.

She was going to celebrate this good news with Romeo. He had started complaining about her negligence.

'You have not even got married to him yet, just a visit and I am already feeling neglected, you said marriage to him will not change anything between us but look. Are you sure you have not started enjoying your proximity to him a little too much? Are you sure you have not started falling in love with him?' He had asked and Phoebe had tried to calm him but it was true, she had started developing a very soft spot for Jason.

But she wanted most of all to see Nancy ruined. She dares to challenge her and steal her Jason from her?'
