Chapter 30: Chapter 30
Okay, please lead the way. He climbed the stairs and ended up opening the door to his room. Um, isn’t this your room. Why did you bring me here? it’s not like we will be sleeping in the same room.
Of course, we will be sleeping in the same room and same bed, dint you see that in our contract.
What, there was definitely no such Clouse.
There was that clause, it seems you did not read the contract as well a you should have huh. Anyway, here’s where you’ll place your clothes.
Okay then ill change and join you downstairs. She said as he started arranging her clothes. As she arranged her clothes, she remembered how hard it had been to convince her dad and Lexi to move out, especially after just completing the surgery with Marya still in the hospital. She ha aske them to look after her for a while before she came back. She had lied to them that she had gotten a job that would help her get finances for her wedding decorations business an it would take just a short amount of time.
Technically It was not a lie, he just omitted mentioning who her employer was. Sinking on the bed, she pushed tears back as her mind flashed back to the surgery. That ha to have been the most tensed moment she had ever ha in her entire life. Her daughter laid in operating table for six hours continuous. Throughout that time, Lisa’s heart was literally in her hands. She could not calm down no matter how much she wanted to.
Every time a nurse moved out, she kept expecting the bad news until they started running toward that room. It seemed like everything was moving in slow motion and at the same time quickly. She felt her hands going clammy, her breath coming in short gasps. Terrified, she tried to talk to one of the nurses but she didn’t answer her. for a while, it was noisy before it was all noisy.
Then after a short while, the door to the operating room was opened and the doctor got out. She could not fathom how she grasped his shirt but he just had to know how her daughter was. Apparently, the surgery was a success, however a very hard one. They had nearly lost her due to loss of blood but she had survived. Now what remained was to watch her in order to know whether they would get through the most critical time. Those few hours after the surgery mattered a lot as the body was still adjusting to the changes made.
Falling on weak legs due to relief, her mother lifted her and hugged her. it looked like she had gotten the mother she had never had in Rosetta. She was a beautiful plumb lady who was very jovial. After a while, Marya was wheeled outside to the ICU, the breathing tubes still attached to her. he longed to hold her baby in her hand. With the support of her parents, she stood just by the large window display and watched her daughter sleeping.
Lexi dragged her to the cafeteria to eat but she could not get anything pat her clogged tubes. No, swallowing was too hard and the food seemed to get stuck on her throat. Realizing she could not eat, she stopped tensing and walked back. She only hoped that her daughter would live to see the next day and the day after. She just could not imagine life without her daughter. She was the main reason that she still lived.
At some point, the monitor attached to her started making weird beep noises and the nurses rushed toward the ICU. She was quickly rushed to the operating room. Lisa felt her heart drop to her stomach at that moment. They had said the surgery was a success. she could not believe that her daughter was going back to the theater. Her legs felt like lead as she stood transfixed.
Worry gnawed at her as she watched the or light still on until it was flicked out and her daughter pushed out still alive. Now, she just wanted to watch her and hold her close. How close she ha come to losing her only child. Even now she still trembled with nerves. Somehow, she ha managed to last through the hours.
Every hour upholstered her confidence towards the survival of Marya. Wen three hours finally ended, she waled out to freshen up an then she remembered he had to move in with Omar today. He did not even know how she would balance that. Taking a deep breath, she turned to her family to explain to them. They were very adamant and quite plainly disapproved of her moving out so soon after her daughter’s surgery.
After getting a confirmation from the nurses that they would notify her of any change that would occur while she was not around, she moved to Lexi’s home, where she freshened and changed her clothes. Getting on a taxi, she was driven until she had reached the place. all the while, she was fighting nerves and fear.
Now as she lay there, she was still worried about Marya. She knew he could not have peace of mind if she did not visit her daughter again yet she did not how she would manage to move just as she ha moved in. relaxing on the bed, she found her eyelid growing heavy, together with a yawn. She promised herself to take just a short nape and then he would go the hospital; to see her.
The next moment she came to, it was to the loud ringing of her phone just near her ears. Picking it up, she realized that she had received several texts from Lexi and her dad while asleep. Picking up on the first call, she placed the phone on her ear. Hey dad…I’m sorry I fell asleep immediately I came here. Why is something wrong with Marya? She asked as she started panicking
