Chapter 27: Chapter 27
You, you ignorant baboon. I quit I’m not doing this anymore, go and marry yourself then. Lisa said and stood up though in her mind she felt like shooting her mouth. Now she had just ruined her chance to get her daughter to get treated but the man really infuriated. Was he marrying for his business or was he looking for a lover? She just knew that they could not afford to be lovers again because when they ended it again, she would be way too devastated. She did not want to have to go through counselling again. Every darkness irked her.
Just as she made to pull her seat behind, Omar stood up and grabbed her hand. While he was a ruthless businessman, he just did not know how to behave with her. she was just something way different from negotiating deals. In as much he felt like he was getting a shorter end of the deal he still held her hand. Okay, don’t go, we’ll both stay faithful during the entire period we are married. Besides I want to show Mr. li that I am a stable man who can handle large business and a fickle behavior will only discredit me. So when can we get all these details over.
Anytime you are ready and please remember that the money is immediately we get married.
Okay, then let’s get married next week, give me a whole week to arrange everything.
Eeh a whole week?
Then three days?
No, if it was possible, we finished with all that even today.
Really, okay, then let me call my secretary who will draft our contract and then we can go to the registry.
Great then let’s do that. She said as they stood and walked out of the café together. As they walked out, she could not help but think that she had entered into the devil’s garden. But she would pull through, she was much stronger than people often credited her. quickly, they stopped at his work place and walked quickly through the sleek office foyer. The pretty receptionist standing to greet him.
He pulled her through the lift, something that had his workers gawking. While he had been known to go traipsing with other women, they never came to his work place. in his office, the windows opened up to how the rest of the city in one large expanse. The tall buildings sent a sense of overwhelming need to topple over everything. The cars moved at a leisurely pace own there, each with a different destination, yet here he was with the man who had once betrayed her getting to sign a marriage contract. How funny life was.
Sighing, she sat on the chair reserved for his guests. The contract was already drafted. Reading through it again, she signed it together with a non-disclosure agreement. Afterwards they both went to get white outfits. Somehow Omar was able to arrange to get everything done within an hour. He really was influential wasn’t he. And now as they walked back, she looked at the certificate that now encased their names with something akin to acceptance. Since they were married, she just had to accept it. Though she had not talked about Marya to him. She did not know how right that would be. She was also scare what would happen if she talked about her.
At that moment, she received an alert that she had received a hundred and fifty thousand dollars in her bank account. This reminded her that her baby girl was stroll in the hospital. Her da was probably already in the country, would he think that she was wrong in marrying him, considering all the pain that they had been going through. Breathing again silently she turned to him and thanked him. Do you mind if I meet you later, I’m a bit busy?
Not even an hour into our marriage and you can’t even wait to get away from me. Or is it the money you want to spend. He said as his icy tone broke through her mind sending icicles down er spine.
Do you have a problem with me spending the money? Anyway, I’ll meet with you once I’m done with what I am doing. She said and then stopped a cab, within a few moments she was disappearing around the corner. His desire to know what she needed the money for was threatening to overpower him and he nearly followed her but he stopped himself. He knew she was not a spoilt brat and neither was she vain, so it did disturb him when she asked for so much money.
The cab stopped at the hospital an in as much as she now held the operating fee in her hand, she felt suffocate. He didn’t know whether it was the oppressive feel of the hospital that made her feet feel heavy like lead. But still he walked in. she paid and went to talk with the doctor. Apparently, the hospital did not have a heart surgeon qualified to do the surgery and the operating surgeon would have to be flown to the place. the operation was schedule to take place on the morrow.
From talking with the doctor, she went to the waiting chairs just outside the ICU, the tubes connected on her daughter marrying her usually pretty and lively face. When she was given the chance to visit her dressed in scrubs and a face mask, she was exhilarated. She sat by her bed, watching the tiny chest rise and fall. She missed hearing her talk, and her laughter and jumping. Wiping away the tears that had started falling without her knowledge, she held her tiny hands in her bigger ones and kissed them.
My poor little baby, mommy misses you so much, you have got to hang in there and come back to me. My very strong girl and victor. I know that we will get past all these wont we.
