Chapter 10: Chapter 10

“Oh my god, this place looks fantastic, thanks Lexi.” Lisa said as teary, she turned and hugged Lexi. It had been about two weeks since that fateful night that she had spotted her mom and Omar. Now, she was standing before her shop, where she would keep her supplies. Lexi had organized everything, and the balloons hanging on the doors brightened her day. Her dream of starting off officially back home as a wedding décor professional was finally starting. The name of the shop had been Lisa’s décor, in a flourish pink, black and purple that set her heart racing.

When she got inside, there was a table with a cake, and there was Marya and a few other friends she had made over the party. All of them were shouting surprise and happy birthday. Was it weird that her friend’s idea of a birthday party was surprising her with the building where she would be starting her work? All of them were looking at her with excitement, while Marya was already crying with excitement. “Come on mama, cut the cake, auntie Lexi said we could eat the cake when you came in.” At this, Lisa and the rest laughed while she went on ahead and blew the candles while making a wish that she would always be this happy and that the people she loved would always stay by her side.

With Marya’s help, she cut the cake as they sung her a happy birthday song and then just fed Marya, then Alex, and the rest of her friends. By the time the event was coming to a close, she felt happy and satisfied. Things were already going on well. And within a short time, she would hopefully be doing her first clients wedding, a result of going to the party. She knew that if she did that wedding, it would give her the exposure she needed and she could start her business on a high note. When all the others were gone, with Marya sleeping on a couch in the office behind the main room, she thanked her friend.

“Thank you, Lexi, for everything, god knows what I would have done without you. You are godsend.”

“Ha-ha come on Lisa, this was nothing. You know that I would do anything for my pretty mama.”

“Ha-ha I know you would and that’s why I love you.” Feeling mischievous, Lisa grabbed her and hugged her, peppering her face with sound kissed and lots of saliva.

‘Come on Lisa, what do you think you are doing, no stop it?” She said as she attempted to stand and run, her face flushed so red that she was stammering.

“Ha-ha Lexi, I just want to show my gratitude now, please let me.” She said as she also stood from her seat ready to run after her knowing that her friend would get flustered at her actions.

“What the hell is wrong with you. I will tell Marya what you are doing. And that you love ladies.”

It was at that moment that Marya came in rubbing her eyes, “mm mama, what does Lexi mean. “

Feeling flustered, she stared at Lexi while picking her baby and tickling her in a bid to make her forget whatever she had heard. “Who wants more cake” she asked in a sing song voice while carrying her to the table.

“Me mama, more cake.” Marya said laughing at the funny faces her mom was making.

The rest of the day went well, and she could not help the shiver of anticipation. Tomorrow, she would get her supplies and set everything rolling. She was going to make it come what may. Soaking in the bathtub at night made her recall the way Omar had held her when she nearly fell. The way his arms had felt around her. steel and strong and supportive. Her heart beat wildly while feeling tears gathering at her eyes. Why would she still think of the bastard while all he knew was betrayal? Maybe he had held her that day for a certain reason, but she would never give him space near her. Lisa said as she steeled her heart.

The man was too dangerous for her. she could not afford to have him affect her emotions. Yet her body had been on a high. She had not been with another since Omar and having a kid had somehow silenced that part of her body. Yet when she had been pregnant, there were times where she woke panting, her body swollen and excited, the remnants of his love making exciting, her mind a rambled mess. Now, it was like desire was flooding her all over now that Marya was a grown up and her body felt so hot and attuned to desire, just not to someone else other than Omar.

Sighing, she moved from the tab and picked the towel to dry herself. Afterwards, she wrapped her hair in another towel before shedding the towel for a robe. The robe scrapped against her breasts causing her to feel aroused. Since the party, she had been in a constant aroused state that surprised her. the fact that she had seen her mom had bothered her, but not in the way Omar’s touch did. Maybe it was time she actively sought to move on. She could not afford to forget all the bad he had brought upon her. maybe she should go on blind dates. She then maybe meets someone that made her blood soar like he did.

Lying on the bed that night while holding Marya, despite the success of the day and the surprise. She was worried. How long would it be before Omar found out about Marya, what would he do? Those thoughts were then replaced by thoughts of her dad who had called her from where they had stayed. Her father had chosen to stay over there, near by the sea, entranced by a beautiful lady who had made him believe in love. He had called to wish her a happy birthday and the love he showed her made her glow and feel good. She was done worrying for tomorrow. Things would work themselves out.
