Chapter 83: Chapter 83

The sentence stopped my action so that my lips were only 2 centimeters from him, I smiled, when I was about to back my face, one of his hands held my head on the back of his lips and his lips found mine. He sucked my lower lip while I sucked his upper lip, it was sweet like strawberry candy, then he sucked my upper lip after tasting my lower lip and I switched to sucking his lower lip. Oh my God, this kiss made my senses faint and my Inner Goddess yawned as she lay on her red sofa and closed her eyes. Sean straightened his body then pushed me until I lay on the sofa, we were breathless after that intoxicating and passionate kiss, he positioned his body on top of mine. He then brought his face closer to mine, the tip of his nose he rubbed against mine.

“You’re a hot woman, Ariana Al Jariz,” he said which made me smile, I held his face between my hands and looked at him with my loving feelings.

Suddenly the main light in the living room turned on, my eyes immediately narrowed because of the glare Sean closed his eyes and then rose from his position.

“Mom??! What are you doing here at this time of night??” Sean looked surprised mixed with curiosity, I immediately got up and turned to look at my mother-in-law, her expression looked tense, she looked at me with a sad look.

“Ana, your mom had an accident a while ago she’s in the hospital now.”

That sentence was like a grenade that was thrown at me and exploded right in my grasp.

Mama!

I was silent, the world around me seemed to be dead, then suddenly I stood up and ran to my room to change clothes in a hurry, tears instantly running down my face. Oh Lord! Let him be fine, let my Alina mama be fine. I continued to pray in my mind, my mouth slurred saying the word ‘Mama’ I felt lost when Sean’s arms wrapped around me, hugged me, my tears broke, I hugged Sean tightly with both my hands behind his body squeezing the shirt he was wearing, my face sinking into his chest. He led me out of our room to the elevator, until we were all in the SUV, my tears wouldn’t stop.

When we arrived at the hospital, my eyes caught Caroline’s figure I ran to her and immediately hugged her, I cried.

“She’ll be fine, Ana, she’ll be fine,” Caroline said like a healing spell to heal the current situation, but she failed to hide the fear and sadness in her voice. I nodded trying to use Caroline’s words to reassure me and calm me down. Caroline broke our embrace and led me to sit on the patient bench in front of the operating room entrance, where my mother was. Sean sat right next to me, he took my right hand then intertwined our fingers and then held it, while on my left there was Caroline who held my left hand.

I lifted my face to look around me, Ronald seemed to be sitting on the patient bench across from me, bowed languidly with both hands caressing his face, then he intertwined his fingers and placed them in front of his lips, his elbows on his thighs. We were all devastated by this incident, we all waited, I don’t know how long we waited until a doctor came out from behind the door in front of me, we all stood and looked at him curiously. Mama Ramia first asked what we all were curious about.

“She was hit so hard she was bleeding profusely, sorry, she didn’t survive.”

My body felt weak, as if all my bones had been pulled out of my body, my head was spinning and my vision was spinning, it all happened so fast that darkness overtook my vision, Sean’s voice was the last thing I heard when he called my name before I gave in to the darkness.

“People will leave but the memories will stay.”

Author POV

While clutching the graveyard that had just buried the person she loved most, Ariana stared at the tombstone bearing her mother’s name. He gently caressed the surface of the tombstone engraved with the name of the figure who had given her a love shee had never counted. Her lips showed a smile as if she looked strong and determined to accept this fact, but deep inside her, that emptiness occupied one of the spaces in her heart, a space that had been filled by her mother’s love.

After saying goodbye to her mother’s grave, Ariana left the funeral, her husband Sean, faithfully accompanying her, strengthened her and became her support. They immediately headed to her mother’s house, Ariana’s old house where all the memories of some of the life she lived with her mother dwelled, when Ariana and Sean arrived at the house, the guests who came gave hugs and condolences to Ariana after that she rushed to her mother’s room.

The room seemed empty without occupants, like the space in her heart, where the figure of her mother was. Only memories were kept and those memories were like the winter wind that stabbed into her bones. Ariana stepped deep into the center of the room, at a time like, her mother would greet her and smile and then show her her latest collection of designs, the memory running through her mind like an old movie she had watched a million times but never bored. Several photos are displayed on top of a two-drawer cabinet which is as wide as her mother’s king-size spring bed. There’s a photo of her three-year-old wearing a swimsuit and a yellow duck-shaped sleeve, smiling. She was learning to swim for the first time at her old home in Thailand, and her mother took the picture.

The next photo when she and her mother went to New York for the first time, when her mother’s designs were shown for the first time at the New York Fashion week event, Ariana can still remember that memory well, her mother’s smile never leaves her face and looks enthusiastic, for Ariana it was one of the best times he had ever had with her. Ariana looked at the five photo frames displayed there and she stared at one of the photos for a very long time, when her father was alive the three of them took a picture together and Ariana felt that time passed very quickly. She was currently married and was about to become a mother, and she had to go through that without her parents, and her mother’s death was like being stabbed by Black Panther’s vibranium claws right through her heart. Sean looked at the woman who became the axis of his world in the half-open doorway of Alina’s mom’s room, seeing her like this made her feel what Ariana was feeling. She had also experienced something like this, long ago, when he was a child, it was painful, but life must go on, everyone will go, be it because of his own will or because of death, what remains is only a memory, bad memory or death. Good memories.
