Chapter 30:  She's still alive!

John's exasperated voice resounds in the phone. "Does Mr. Hargreaves know what time is? It's sleeping time already and he still disturbs people."

Even Elly can hear such an impatient tone of voice.

Alex deliberately glances at her and then sarcastically says. "I heard Elliott's young master had turned the city A upside down to find his fiancé?"

"It's none of your business."

Alex shows a winner smile on his face with malicious eyes and a leisurely voice. "What a coincidence, your fiancé is with me now."

"Did you find her? Where is she?! Tell me the address, I'll be right there."

A half smile appears on Alex's face, making him look more dangerous. "You couldn't find your fiancé, but I could. The one who has the right to bring her back is me. The young master can relax now."

Alex hanged up the phone, smirks at John's repeated calls.

Elly clearly hears the conversation, she was puzzled.

"Mr. Hargreaves, what do you mean by that?"

"You were kidnapped but he did not come to rescue you even though his followers are everywhere throughout City A, don't you think he didn't want to save you right in the beginning?"

Elly thinks about John's blocking all the companies from hiring her, she wonders if this would be his next trick? She didn't know if just waited until she was scared and at the last moment, he wanted to save her so that she might be completely touched and dependent on him?

She shivers coldly, Alex quickly caught up with this hesitation.

"I don't think you should go home early, find a place to stay overnight so that your fiancé can feel what is called anxiety when you're not with him."

Alex hits the steering wheel, leads the convoy to a hotel in the city, then he quickly finishes his hand, not allowing Elly to have time to refuse.

Standing in the hotel room, Elly could not believe that she was renting a room because of Alex's foolish words. She was the one who had a fiancé and did not come home that night and agrees to let a man book a room for help.

She felt guilty about John.

"Mr. Hargreaves, I want to go home. I don't think The shift wasn't deliberately not coming to save me. He might not find the kidnapper's place." She blinks curiously. "I forgot to ask, how did you find me?"

"Because I'm Alexis Hargreaves."

Elly looks at his cocky expression. She did not know if she should flatter him or not.

"Are you having a bad feeling for John, right? You are such a fool! " Mr.Alex does not regret his words. "A woman must have her own values. John could not save his fiancée from dangerous kidnappers, therefore he deserves a punishment. It's just a night of worry and anxiety, it won't hurt his body."

Elly is gradually persuaded by Alex's argument, but she also doesn't want to hear others speak ill of John. She smiles politely and puts her hand on the doorknob then says bluntly.

"Thank you, Mr. Hargreaves, for saving me tonight. It is also late now, I may not be able to talk with you anymore."

Alex did not have any problem with her words, his eyes moved to her wide collar but he cannot see the birthmark and the other scar, he snorted then quickly leaves.

Down to the hall, where Elly could not see him, Alex's stubborn face quickly changed. The corners of his mouth twisted into a smile, his sharp eyes became unconsciously relaxed.

The burden that had been in his heart for three years suddenly disappeared, making him comfortable and relaxed.

Luckily, she's still alive.

That excessive feeling was released when Alex reaches into his pocket to get the car keys and hits the cell phone that was constantly on.

Twenty missed calls were from John.

Turning on the phone, Alex talked in front of the caller: "Coffee shop, I want to meet you right now."

In the luxury cafe, John stared at Alex and leisurely drinking coffee, his patience was about to shatter.

"Mr. Hargreaves, where did you take Elly?"

"Elly?" Alex smirks. "When did you stop calling her Maddy?"

"Can Mr. Hargreaves stop mistakenly recognizing my fiancé as your ex-wife?"

John's harsh response touched the pain in Alex's heart.

"So what do you explain about the scar on Elly's back?"

"What scar?" John stuns, his mind darkened. "Do you dare touch her?"

John's reaction surprised Alex. The scar and birthmark are in a very conspicuous position if they have a loving married life, not John a conservative man, even though he is fully entitled as a fiancée?

This thought just appeared, Alex could not suppress the joy in his heart. He quickly danced to another topic. "I must be mistaken."

John frowned, looked at him doubtfully, impatiently asks. "Mr. Hargreaves does not have to use this situation for your selfish purpose. Please tell me where Elly is."

"That Elly agreed to go with me is the answer. She accepted to go with me, and I took her away."

"I do not allow!" John stands up, his coffee cup is tilted on the table, the chair is also rolling on the floor, making a noisy sound in the shop.

"You don't have that right!" Alex also stands up, he hated it most when others look down from above to talk to him. "Elly was kidnapped, what have you done?" Being loud about finding her throughout the city, yet the result was still poor. What right do you have to keep her by your side?"

"It's none of your business, Mr. Hargreaves!, My family's issues do not have any relation with you."

"If it's about your family, then you must know the reason why you couldn't find your fiancé's place? Even a family member like you cannot solve the problem properly, which affected Elly's safety, then you may not have the right to be her fiancée."

John is stunned by the news he has just heard, he could not react when Alex left.

"Just leave Elly with me, young master Elliott, please take care of your own personal affairs before finding her. Maybe the next kidnapping is coming from your family."

Alex's harsh words reminded John. He hurries back to his house. He needs to meet his mother and those who directly received the investigation orders from him.

He knows that John's mother was often in the greenhouse taking care of a flower that blooms at night. The moment he is passed the hallway to the greenhouse, he hears some conversations.

"Tomorrow morning will be the first day that Ms. Elly was kidnapped. If she's in danger, John will kill us."

"Nonsense, Lady Elliott is more powerful than young master Elliott, we just did what she told us to do. In order not to lose your job, you should listen to the lady."

"But the official heir is young Master Elliot. If we hide from the future homeowner, it will be even more tragic."

"What did you hide from me?" John appeared behind the two people, his face is cold and ferocious. He watched these two men, said nothing and shake their head then issued an ultimatum. "I give you three seconds, if you don't tell me the truth, then get out of this house!"

Hearing John's decisive voice, one of them kneels hastily and pleads.

"Mr. John, I will tell you the truth."

"You want to be punished by Lady Elliott?" The other person tugs the shirt of the person kneeling, yet when seeing John fiercely glance, he lowers his head.

"I have an old mother and a young child, I cannot lose this job. Mr. John, this concerns Miss Elly."

This is somewhat predictable, but John is still startled.

"We found out that Ms. Elly was in the western suburbs of the city, but Lady Elliott would not let us report to you, The lady said she wanted to take this opportunity to remove Miss Elly from your life."

John felt like he was struck by lightning, his head buzzes, his body trembled, then he stepped back a few steps. "What else did my mother say?"

"The lady also said she wanted to separate Ms. Elly from you for a long time. Fortunately, this had happened, without the lady's action."

John as barely standing, he had to cling to the wall. The disappointment in his heart almost swallowed him.

John's mother understands how much he loved Elly.

He did not expect his mother to be so cruel. It is because his mother intended to hide his fiancé, he had almost lost Elly.

Meanwhile, Alex did not return to the hotel, he returned to the Shepherd. As soon as he entered the living room, he saw Emily Russel impatiently pacing back and forth.

"Why aren't you sleeping yet?"

Emily Russel saw Alex, hurriedly greets him with a sweet voice. "I heard from your secretary that you went to the suburbs during the night? What was going on?"

"Are you watching me?" Alex looked suspiciously at Emily Russel.

His question offended Emily Russel, she pouts, "I worry about your health. you work all day and night, and sooner or later You'll get sick."

Alex saw her eluding eyes so he became even more doubtful.
