The doctor said coldly, "Her condition is not suitable for infusion."

"Why?"

The family doctor glanced at the disgruntled expression on his face and laughed. "Wow! You move so fast. I thought you were a gentleman. You can't eat other people's children until you get married."

Alex frowned, not knowing what the doctor meant. The butler, Geno was immediately startled. He glanced at Elly who was lying on the bed, then looked at his boss with enthusiasm. He bowed his head and hid a smile.

"She should not take that medicine during pregnancy." The doctor said.

During pregnancy? Alex opened his eyes wide and looked at Elly in surprise.

"Miss Elly is about a month pregnant." The doctor did not expect that Alex' reaction would be like this. He thought if this was a bad situation and his eyes focused on the sleeping on the bed.

"Don't look at her like that!" Alex was very sensitive to all the malicious eyes looking at Elly. He was angry, confused and his voice was louder than usual. "It has only been a month. How did you know of that? You checked, right?"

Alex secretly blamed himself for being careless and because he never thought about her health. The door closed and Alex helped her change into comfortable pajamas.

When it was time for dinner, Kitten went to his parents but Alex skillfully coaxed Kitten to eat, play by himself, and go to bed first.

He took care of her all night, and when Elly woke up, it was noon the next day. Elly felt that her head was heavier than usual. She frowned and recalled what had happened before she went to bed.

She heard the Alex' anxious voice. "Do you feel unwell?"

When Elly wanted to sit up, she realized that her limbs were delicate and not as strong as usual. Alex hurriedly supported her shoulder and put the soft pillow behind her.

"When did you get back? I overslept. I didn't heard you. I've been sleeping all night. I had a fever last night." Alex touched Elly's forehead and breathed a sigh of relief. "Good, it's not hot anymore."

Elly watched as he carried a wet towel and wiped the palm of her hand. "You took care of me all night?"

Elly looked at him and saw him smile. Elly felt remorseful. "It was my mistake. I've been busy all day and have to stay up late at night. It is my duty and responsibility to take care of the both of you.

Both? Elly was puzzled by Alex' mysterious smile.

He put his hand on her stomach and without explanation, he made an offer. "Let me take you to the hospital."

Indignant and skeptical, Elly agreed to go to the hospital.

When she heard the nurse call out her name, Elly was so worried that she pinched the hands of Alex.

Alex gently took off her finger, saved a piece of paper, and then rubbed the soft palm of her hand. "I'm with you."

The two men walked in together, and after some examination, the doctor confirmed the results. "Congratulations! You're a month pregnant."

"I can't restrain my joy," Alex said excitedly, he hugged Elly tightly. "This is the best news! Thank you! Thank you!"

Elly was not as excited as he was, she didn't know whether she should hold the child or not.

Elly shook her head and plucked up the courage to discuss her thoughts. "Hey, can we not have a baby now?"

Elly knew that the request was beyond Alex' capacity, which was a direct blow to his happiness but she insisted on repeating it. "I don't want this baby."

His aura darkened and he leaned towards her with a seat belt in his hand, forcing her to withdraw. The smile completely disappeared from his face. Now, all you would see was ferocity and pain mixed together, which made Elly swallow her saliva.

She bit her lip to make up her mind and confide in her heart. "Now that my design studio is taking the first step, I don't want to give it up because I'm pregnant. Besides, this is not my own studio."

"Do you want to give up your kids for career?" His voice was cold and he looked at her in disappointment. "In your heart, is the child not as good as your career?"

Elly looked into his eyes. Of course! she didn't think so. For her, her children and career were very important, but the children are the top priority. She was worried about Alex. She dared not say the reason why she wanted to give up the child because she did not want him to blame himself or feel guilty.

"You have to give birth to this baby. You have to have it even if you don't want to. He is not only your child, but also my child, the sister of Kitten and you have no right to decide to give up our family."

"Your mom, Elly has a child in her belly. She will be your brother or sister. From now on, you must protect her, remember? The first thing we have to do is not to hug her, that will hurt the baby."
