Chapter 162: Chapter 162

Chapter 164 Confidence and Lies

Elly didn't understand what he said. She looked at Alex suspiciously.

"Actually what?"

As soon as she finished, Aaron approached her from behind and Alex changed the topic.

"There's nothing. The last time our cooperation was interrupted because of us, your perfect advertising plan was futile. I'm sorry. I hope we can continue to work together. Would you please accept the advertising business for our next batch of products, Elly?"

Alex suddenly mentioned work that made her frowned. She felt that he was strange today and that she could not understand what he thought.

Aaron saw that she was silent and misunderstood that she did not want to continue to cooperate with Alex, so he said "Mr. Hargreaves, it seems inappropriate for you to take up the staff's time in front of me."

Elly was startled and she looked at him. "Didn't you said he went back to the office before?"

Alex smiled politely and his voice was unfriendly and ruthless. "I'm working with Elly, isn't it with the Torch Group? I don't think Mr. Elliot will reject our interests. The plan needs to be considered at the moment."

The voice of sarcasm sounded proud and Aaron was provocative. "Mr. Hargreaves, our company doesn't sell the idea of stealing. This will destroy the brand of the sacred flame, just like this double-edged sword, I want to refuse."

Elly turned pale when they talked about stealing ideas. She frowned and stared at the faint Aaron. Since Elly and he both know the truth about stealing, why did you talked about it on purpose?

Aaron did not even blink his eyes and went on calmly with a clear conscience. "Therefore, when we considered working with Alex, we must think twice before we act."

She couldn't stand it and put her hand on Aaron and reminded him of his tone. Aaron was startled by her angry behavior, and a little filial piety disappeared and was replaced by a glint of remorse.

He shut up and didn't want to make Elly angry anymore.

Elly looked back at Alex. His sudden expression showed that he was not talking nonsense about Aaron. In his hawk-like eye, he looked at her strange behavior painfully.

It doesn't matter what Aaron said. He never cared about other people's opinions. He only focused on Elly's answer.

"Mr. Hargreaves, let's discuss whether the cooperation will continue or not. I have a client at the moment, so I can't receive you." Aaron said. Elly smiled politely and apologetically when he looked at it on his mobile phone screen.

She took a few steps, with a calm voice behind her she heard Alex said "It doesn't matter. I can wait for you here."

Her pace stopped, she asked awkwardly. "Mr. Hargreaves, you today, are you okay? She swallowed her concern. Did she forget to take her medicine on time? Now that she is ill, why does she care about the people around her?

Aaron doesn't want Alex to stand here and be the focus of the company and other customers, he whispered sideways in her ear. "Okay, let me talk to the guests in the office. You clean up the mess in front of you."

He watched Alex make his petition. "If Alex Hargreaves wants to talk about our next step of cooperation, why don't we go to the office?"

"No, no! I just want to talk to Elly." Alex never moved his eyes and his tone was firm.

More and more people surrounded them. Elly wanted to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings so she gave in. "All right, you pick your seat, let's go."

"Elly?" As soon as Aaron opened his mouth to stop it, he was pacified by her dismissive clap of hands.

Elly didn't think that Alex would take her to the parking lot.

The sarcastic tone has finally been erased from her mouth. "Mr. Hargreaves has a special hobby! The high-end conference room is bright, the air conditioner is comfortable, and I want to talk about work in the small space of the car. The surprise you bring to me is unpredictable." She said annoyed.

But Alex remained silent, he waved on her face and beckoned her to get in the car.

In her reluctance, she sat in the car. As soon as she touched her seat belt, a cell phone was delivered to her.

The mobile phone just came out recently, but the corner of the screen cracked and she was amused. "Boss Alex is so generous that I didn't expect he would give me this shabby mobile phone. Alex, this sincerity is also a little too much."

A few nights ago, her mobile phone broke down and I forgot to change it.

As she remembered that she was saved by him, Elly scratched her nose shyly.

Looking at her shy movements, he naturally felt that she's very cute, he gently explained. "It's not a gift, it's evidence."

"What evidence?" Her mind became blurred, and she suspected something that she picked up her phone and followed the instructions to find the recording.

"What's this?" She opened it in no hurry and looked at him. "What's your new plan?"

Alex smiled bitterly and tried to scratch her nose, but she reached out in mid-air and sighed" You'll hear a lot of words, click on it and you will know. Just a moment, please. Just a moment."

His inner patience ran out and she pressed her finger on the recording. A familiar voice froze her body, like an electric current going straight to her waist and head, and then spread to her numb limbs.

"I sent the address of the girl in the photo and took care of her tonight."

"Give me five cents before 50%"

"Okay, after dealing with this girl the remaining 50% of the money will be transferred directly to your card. There is no shortage of one dollar."

The later recording clearly showed that Aaron was negotiated with "bald head" the day before. She still remembered the voice of the old bald man, and Aaron recognized the voice even if she closes her eyes.

"Aaron is the mastermind hired to kill me the other night?" Her body trembled and gasped out of breath. The words that blurted out of her throat roared past. "How can we do that? Did he try to kill me? That is ridiculous a lie."

Alex helplessly watched her unconsciously deny the truth, he sighed helplessly. "Aaron's hired mercenary is ten years older than you. He is smart, and the fox is older than your idiot. Do you think you know him? No, you're not! You only know him by his performance outside."

Elly wanted to refute his words, but he shouted the truth from the bottom of her heart, and what he said was not a lie. What she saw in Aaron was what he showed, and her familiarity with John made her quickly believe that she did not hesitate to expose herself in front of him.

She stammered. "I still don't understand. Why did he want to kill me? Why? I didn't do anything to betray or hurt him. He is very kind to me, and the warmth can't be fake. I don't know if the concern is fake."

Alex felt sour and sad when he heard Elly muttered to herself. "I always prove to you that I am sincere, but what you think inside is I am fake." Now that the true face of Aaron has been exposed, the evidence is crawling and fighting in front of you, but you still have trust and confidence in him." Elly can't be denied that she was frightened by the creepy laughter made by Alex.

"Ironically, after you and I have known each other for so many years, I still lost to Aaron, who has just known you for a year."

As she digests his words, she knew that what he meant by sarcasm. She had no intention to defend herself or comfort him. She held her cell phone and her voice were low.

"Give me some time. I'll find out the truth."

Elly said as she pushed the door out of the car. Horrified by the revelation it took her a while to gain a firm foothold. She thought that if she left Alex, she would never have to endure the feeling of being deceived by a trustworthy person. Unfortunately, Alex slapped her with the truth in the face today.

Alex opened the car door and tried to catch up with her and take her out of the dangerous. But when he remembered her stubborn character, he suppressed his desire in his heart. He watched her lost footsteps until she disappeared behind the elevator door.

"Elly, if you do not personally accept this cruel reality, I am afraid I will believe that I am a bad person all my life, or neither do I not believe that Aaron is trying to hurt me." She mumbled in herself.

Aaron shook hands and sent the customer to the office door. He saw Elly walk out of the elevator with a dumbfounded look in her eyes which made him walk anxiously roam back and forth to pick her up.

He grabbed Elly's arm but she didn't react, as usual, so he asked hurriedly.

"What's the matter, Leila? What did Alex do to you? I should never have let him take you."

Elly shook her head, she wanted to laugh which is worse than crying. She looked at him sideways and asked blankly. "Aaron, do you know what it's like to be deceived by someone you trust?

He can't read her mind and he can't understand what she meant. "What are you lying to me about?"

Elly looked at him quietly, and before he spoke, she pulled him into the office and locked the door.

Elly's cautious behavior made him laugh.

"If a man and a woman are locked in a cell, rumors will spread. Do you want our love story to rise to the new building?"

"What's the big deal about the love rumors. It's better to be indifferent than to entertain such nonsense. But what I found is something worse than rumors."
