Chapter 129: Chapter 129
Chapter 131 Angry feelings
Elly was so angry that she poured water crazily on a glass to reduce the fire in her heart.
She exhaled and drank the water from the cup forcefully, she looked at the cup with her eyes and stood up.
When Alex saw Elly drank a glass of water he also did the same. He slammed the cup he was holding on the table in annoyance. Sitting on the sofa. He leaned against his back, he gently covered his eyes with his white arms. He wanted to conceal the emotion that was evident on his face.
If Alex did not mention John, how would Elly reveal his identity? He knew her weakness and he was not qualified to mention John.
The room was silent and an air of sadness can be felt. Elly did not know that Alex had walked out of her room and did not go home right away. He stood at the door with a wound on his body.
She slapped him on the face, not only his face was hurt but also his heart.
The redness on her cheeks gave Alex a clearer understanding of what was going on.
For a year, he missed her all the time. He was always wondering what she was doing and where she was. He didn't realize that it was just his fantasy and Elly didn't care at all.
He never stopped looking for her, but his love was worthless in Elly's eyes.
When he got home, Kitty had not slept. When he saw that the corners of Alex' mouth were bruised and his face was red, he grabbed his father's clothes curiously and asked. "Dad, did you fight with someone? Who dared to hit my father? Let me see know who did this to you!"
"Dad did not fight." Alex sat down to appease him. "I accidentally bumped into a telephone pole along the way, so my face was swollen."
"Dad, how could you be so stupid?" Kitten naively believed that he hit the corner of his mouth against a telephone pole. "Until when will you let me worry"
Alex, who was stiff in front of his son, watched him ran around the room to get the first-aid kit. Kitten went to the coffee table in the middle of the living room, put the first-aid kit on the sofa and patted the bench. "Dad, come here. I'll treat the wound. I promise you, it will not hurt. Don't be afraid."
The boredom and sadness he felt disappeared when he heard his son's speech. Alex sat down and taught him how to properly treat his wounds. He asked Kitten to clean the wound first and then apply red medicine afterwards. When he looked at his son's worried face, his heart that had suffered love seemed to have been soothed.
"Dad, does it hurt?" Kitten asked. He couldn't take his eyes off the wounds of his father and anxiousness and worry were written on his face.
Kitten applied the medicine on Alex' facw and he did not feel any pain. Kitten rubbed his head. Alex felt very happy because he had a good and caring son. He heard Kitten muttering to himself.
"If mom was also here, that would be great. Mom must take good care of her Dad and me so that Dad will no longer drink or fight in the street at night."
Alex immediately changed his emotion when he heard his son talking about Elly. He took his small hand, put the medicine bottle back in the first aid kit, and then said. "Thank you. It's not hurting anymore. You can go back to your bedroom."
"Do you hate it when I mention mom?" Kitten innocently asked his father.
Alex paused for a few seconds, his shoulders stiff as if he were suppressing something. When Alex replied to his son's question, his voice sound exhausted. "Yeah, forget about your mom. Please don't mention her again."
'Why did my father left me when I mentioned my mother and it seemed like he never care about her now?' Kitten thought. 'Dad was upset because he missed her, so he didn't want her to mention her.'
Kitten comforted himself by holding the Superman toy his mother bought for him before. He went to his father's room and left his Superman toy at his father's bed. Kitten pointed to Superman's nose and said, "Sleep with dad tonight so that he will not miss Mom. I'm going to sleep alone tonight."
Alex wanted to use his work to balance his emotions but eventually he couldn't concentrate and had to go back to his bedroom. When he caught a glimpse of the Superman toy through the quilt, he regretted hurting his son.
With the toy Superman on his hand, Alex knocked on the door of Kitten's room, pushed open the door and went in. He found his son with half of his body hanging on the edge of the bed and half was on the ground but his little feet was dangling in the air. He hurriedly rescued his son and put him properly on the bed.
His son suddenly opened his sleepy eyes. Alex felt his tears on the corners pf his eyes. He asked his son, "Don't you like Superman?"
"Dad, I left this at your bedroom and I want to let Superman sleep with you every night. Dad, put Superman in the empty space next to you."
Kitten took his father's hands and asked him, "Dad, sleep with me tonight, okay?"
When Alex looked at Kitten's pleading eyes, his heart softened. He raised the edge of his blanket and nodded decisively. "All right, son."
After Alex laid down, Kitten put his arms around his arm and asked. "Dad, how long will Mom be working? When will she come back? I miss her so much!"
With a deep sigh, even if he knew that Elly had returned, he still need to lie to his son. "She will be back soon."
Alex faced the problem of Kitten so easily but he didn't even know if he had the ability to keep Elly.
Early the next morning, as soon as Elly opened her eyes, she received a call from Aron.
"Is our model awake already? I'll pass by your neighborhood and give you a ride to the office."
Elly glanced at the time and said. "Wow, I'll be ready in a minute."
She hurriedly cleaned up, went downstairs and was picked up by her boss. As soon as she got on his car, a steaming breakfast was given to her.
"The lazy cat hasn't had breakfast yet. Go ahead, it's hot."
There was a gap in their age, so Aron took care of her naturally, just like a brother would treat his sister. Elly sometimes felt that he is her uncle, so she was trying to be polite.
Elly ate the steamed bread and said hesitantly. "He was waiting for me upstairs when you took me home."
Aron frowned and he was very surprised. "How did he know where you live?" Aron asked.
Elly smiled bitterly. "Considering his ability to know that I work for the Torch Company, all information about me will be investigated soon. Even the location of my house, can be easily discovered."
Aron said hurriedly. "We underestimated him. What did he say when he came to see you? He didn't do anything?"
Elly shook his head and directly told Aron what happened last night, including the broken drawings.
Alex' unreasonable request was to deliberately make things more troublesome and bring you trouble. Aron said, "If you don't want to, we can forget about the contract. It's just a project. You don't have to kid yourself. I can handle the consequences." Aron said.
Elly thought that this was not a good idea. Last night she got very angry and her heart was hurt but overnight, she figured it out. The more difficult he was to her, the lower his vigilance would be, which was not a bad thing.
With that, she laughed at Aron's envious eyes and said, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"All of a sudden, I feel like I've been underestimating you. In my eyes, you are still a child, and now I find you are more mature than before." Aron said.
"Oh yeah?" Elly smiled, her eyes were sad and her voice was so low that he could only hear her. "Maybe I've been through a lot, so I know exactly what I want."
It took Alex three days to wait for a call from Elly. She called and suggested that one of the two sides would meet at the other's company but Alex refused.
"I'm busy every day. I only have free time at noon. Why don't we make an appointment for lunch and talk about work?"
Elly realized that this was a new move but Alex did not give her a chance to refuse and quickly decided the time. "Good. I'll see you at noon in the western restaurant downstairs of my company."
Elly came to Hargreaves' and she didn't find the western restaurant as promised. Alex sat by the window, this time without Secretary Gerald, he was alone.
Elly stood at the door and stared at him, she tried to adjust her breath and organize her thoughts until the waiter politely asked her if she had booked a seat.
She walked confidently to the table and sat opposite him. The waiter hurriedly brought the food, which Alex ordered first.
"Well, I don't know if your taste has changed, so I'm just recalling from memory. If we don't like it, we'll change it for something else."
Alex believed that he was considerate and that can be a key for an easy and harmonious relationship, but what he got was Elly's long-distance and abominable etiquette.
"I have already had lunch, so you can eat those you ordered." She called the waiter, ordered a cup of coffee and smiled calmly.
"Do you have to pour cold water on others to be satisfied?" Alex put down his fork knife and asked in an unpleasant voice. "Well, if you will not eat, you should have a drink with me. Why not just order coffee and watch me eat alone?"
Elly giggled, her eyes not so naive. "Do we always need to have a misunderstanding? I'm only here to discuss advertising plans, not as a bartender, nor to entertain you. As soon as the plan is over, I will leave, and the boss can continue to eat this delicious lunch."
