" This is impossible. I can't let him stay with you," Srilekha yelled at Orni.

Sanjay rubbed his forehead," I can't believe even after all these years you couldn't forget him."

A few moments ago Orni's parents returned him. It isn't necessary to describe what kind of shock they got after seeing VR in the house. Apart from shock, they were angry at Orni for letting a criminal enter the house.

" I can't even breathe the same air as him. He reminds me of Indrajit," Srilekha made a foul face while taking Indrajit's name.

Orni snapped at her mother," Don't compare him with Indrajit, Ma. Indrajit never felt remorse for whatever he did. He didn't suffer enough for his sins."

" But, Vijendra is not like his father. He didn't deny that he committed many heinous sins. He accepted his punishment. He did every single thing to earn my forgiveness. He saved my life when I was struggling in the hospital bed," Orni's facial expression turned emotional.

Srilekha reminded Orni," You kinda forget why you were in the hospital in the first place. Because of him." She pointed her finger at VR who was looking at the ground silently swallowing all the insults and accusations.

" You can never convince me that he can change," Srilekha gave a disgusting glare at VR.

Orni was going to say something but VR grabbed her wrist. He walked near Srilekha and held her hands. Giving him a nasty disgusted look, she jerked away his hand.

" Choti ma," VR called.

She yelled at him," Don't call me that. You monster. You always proved that you are Indrajit's son."

" I can never change the past but I promise that I will make the future better for Orni and my children. Give me one last chance, choti ma. I will prove that I am not like Indrajit Randhawa," VR joined his hands in front of her. " I am ashamed of my behaviour with you. But, I assure you tha.................."

Srilekha snapped at VR," I am not buying your crocodile tears."

This time Orni stepped forward and held her mother's hand," Ma, he is a human and humans commit mistakes. Humans take wrong decisions. If he is regretting his actions shouldn't we give him one last chance? I trust him, Ma. He will prove to himself that he will be a good husband. Give him a last chance. I request you."

Srilekha shook her head," You will never learn from your mistakes, Orni." Saying that she went inside her room and shut the door right in front of Orni's face. She lowered her eyes standing in front of the door.

VR approached Sanjay to ask forgiveness but he didn't even bother to look at VR. He went near Orni and placed one of his hands on her shoulder. Orni turned her face at him with emotional eyes.

" Now, I am understanding why you never agreed to the marriage," Sanjay sighed. " I can't believe you are advocating for this person," Sanjay pointed his finger at VR.

Then, he said," You are an adult. You can take your own decisions but don't expect me to applaud you for your stupid decision." The disappointment in his eyes almost tears apart Orni from the inside.

Orni tried to talk to her father but Sanjay just left having a disappointed expression. Before leaving he glared at VR with pure hatred. Except for lowering his eyes, VR had nothing to do.

" Give them some time, Angel," VR held Orni in his arms who was crying nonstop.

He promised her," I will earn their forgiveness too. Don't worry."

VR was sitting in front of Roman and Rion having an awkward guilty expression on his face. On the other hand, Roman & Rion were observing VR with their scrutinizing eyes. Hundreds of questions were roaming inside their heads and they didn't know where to start. It wasn't hidden anymore to them that this middle-aged man whom they thought a bagger was none other than their father. It was Orni who dropped this bomb on them. Since then they became speechless. All the years they craved their father's love. And, when they got him in their life they had no idea how they should react.

Orni knew that her kids need to talk to their father. That's why she left VR alone with Roman and Rion so that they could understand each other's points of view. VR was nervous and ashamed to meet Roman & Rion but Orni assured him that everything will be fine. He just has to talk to them.

VR tried to break the silence," I know that you guys have a lot to ask."

" What did you do?" Roman questioned frowning his brows.

Rion completed the whole question," What did you do to our mother?"

VR lowered his head after hearing them. He had no idea how he was going to answer them. If they come to know what a monster he was they will never accept him as their father.

" I can't tell you what I did," VR managed to answer. " But Whatever I did. I am ashamed," he admitted raising his eyes at them.

VR said becoming emotional," I am your father and I........

" I don't accept you as my father because you were never here for us when we needed you the most," Roman said loudly. " How can we accept a person whom we don't even know properly?" Roman stood up having a bitter expression on his face.

Rion joined his brother," Can you give us a single reason to accept you as our father?"

The thing VR used to fear always was happening right now. He always feared that his children hate him just like he used to hate his father. Since he never received a father's love, he always thought of becoming a good father to his children. He was a good father to Neela but not to his own blood.

" Can you?" Rion shouted at VR who continued staring at the ground.

Squeezing his eyes shut he swallowed his kids' hateful and bitter words. After a few seconds, he gathered some courage to raise his eyes at them.

" I request you to give me one last chance to prove myself as your father," VR pleaded.

Roman and Rion shared an unexplainable look. Diverting their eyes at VR, they said in unison," No."

" Our father is dead for us," Roman said. His words pierced through VR's heart.

Before VR could say anything further, Orni's voice echoed through the whole room," Did I teach you to be disrespectful to your elders?"

" That too your father!" Orni stood in front of VR.

The kids lowered their eyes after seeing their mother giving them cold stares. They did not dare to look into her disappointed eyes.

Roman mumbled," He abandoned us."

Orni sighed and held Roman & Rion's hand. She made them sit on the couch and sat between them. Taking their hands she kept them in her lap.

" Only the person who has a greater heart can forgive," Orni told her children.

She added sounding emotional," You guys always wanted your father and when you got him why aren't you accepting him?"

" Just let go of the anger and accept your father. I assure you that he will not fail you," Orni said caressing the back of their hands.

After listening to Orni, it was Roman who jumped on VR like a kitten. He hugged his father tightly and burst into tears. VR embraced his son gladly.

" Dad," Roman called making VR's eyes blurry.

Rion also joined his brother and called VR," Dad."

" Don't leave us again, Dad," Roman said crying.

VR replied with his trembling voice," I won't. It's my promise to you."

Orni wiped away her happy tears watching her children in their father's protective embrace. For the first time in her life, she saw her children this much happy.

" Am I an outsider now?" Orni questioned chuckling.

The next moment she was pulled into a bone-crushing hug by VR and her kids. All of them cried in each other's arms and wiped away each other's tears.

" You guys are my oxygen. My only reason to live," VR whispered hugging his family members.
