VR's pov

Coming out of my room I found choti ma ordering the maids to clean the house and change all the bed sheets and pillow covers. Today is Diwali and there was a festive vibe in the whole house. Choti ma is looking so happy today. Why won't she? After all her daughter and son-in-law are coming to celebrate with her.

That's where my heart aches. One part of mine is happy that I will get to see Orni and the boys. Along with Neela. Shivansh and Niyati are invited too. Another part of mine will be shattered seeing Orni with her husband. It feels terrible whenever I see her with that man.

I deserve all this. That's my punishment for ruining her life. She deserves all the happiness. I tried a lot to make her fall in love with me again but perhaps I forgot that love can't be forced. And, the way I disrespected her parents. It's my luck that even after all this Choti ma allowed me to live with her. Mr Patel doesn't seem happy because of my presence but looking at choti ma he doesn't say anything.

" Viju, come here. Help me in making the rangoolis," Choti ma said going towards the main door.

I followed her like an obedient child. She started making Rangoli and I helped her choosing the colours. I also made two Rangooli's that she liked a lot.

" You were talking about a disease. Aren't you taking medicines? I didn't see you go to the doctor or taking any medication," She asked curiously.

I lied lowering my head," I am taking medication. Nothing to worry about."

" I am not worried. I am just asking," She answered and it pierced right through my heart.

I concentrated on the Rangooli's when Mr Patel came to us. Without sparing any glance at me he called choti ma with him. She followed him to their bedroom. A few seconds later I heard them talking about something. My curiosity grew up hearing Orni's name. So, I thought to eavesdrop on their conversation.

" Orni won't like him here," I heard Mr Patel saying. Annoyance was clear in his voice.

Choti ma said sounding concerned," I know. She won't. I can't tell him to leave now. He is suffering from a disease. He just wants to live the last few days with me. He has no one in this world."

" You are taking his side!! Did you forget what his father did to you and he did to our daughter?" I heard Mr Patel yelling at Choti Ma. I know they are talking about me.

She answered," And, he was punished for all the crimes he committed."

I lowered my head after hearing them. They shouldn't fight with each other because of me. What am I to them? Taking a deep breath I entered their room. Sensing my presence they stopped talking.

" Choti ma, you shouldn't fight with Mr Patel because of me. When Orni will come I will go to the terrace. I won't come downstairs until Orni and her family are gone," I assured them and left for the terrace.

Reaching the terrace I sat on the ground hugging my knees. Looking at the sky I closed my eyes and felt a drop of water on my cheeks. I thought it was rain. No, it wasn't.

Author's pov

The guest arrived at Srilekha's house. Orni was in tears seeing her mother after a long time. Her father kissed her forehead gently. She hugged Shivansh tightly who hugged her back.

Rudraksh shook his hand with Shivansh and then gave him a side hug. The kids were already in the dining room and fighting over Srilekha's handmade laddu.

Neela snatched away a laddu from Roman's hands. Raksha was already pulling Rion's hair because he told her that she was looking like a witch with all the make-up.

" Ma, next time arrange a WWE ring for them," Orni told her mother looking at the kids with disappointment.

While everyone was celebrating Diwali in the garden VR was staring at them from the terrace. He wasn't permitted to go downstairs until Orni leaves with her family members. VR saw Rudraksh and Orni lighting a diya together. He couldn't continue looking at them and move away. He sat on the ground and looked at the sky with empty eyes.

He has nothing left in this world to live for. So, he decided to not do the surgery. He had no intention of ruining Orni's happiness anymore. Closing his eyes he remembered those times when Orni was his girlfriend.

" Daddy," VR was startled by a girly voice.

Opening his eyes he was shocked to see Neela here. He was stunned to hear the word ' Daddy' from her mouth. She approached him with the warmest smile of hers. She sat right beside him making him more surprised.

" Don't be surprised, Daddy. Mommy told me about you," Neela assured taking one of his lean hands in her hand.

He asked hesitating," What did she say?"

" She said that you took care of me when I was little. She also said that she is grateful to you for your help," Neela shocked VR with her words.

Niyati told Neela about VR. Not all the truth. She felt pity for him. Moreover, in front of Neela's constant questioning, she gave up. So, she had to tell Neela about VR.

" Why aren't you celebrating with us?" Neela questioned.

A sad smile formed on VR's lips and he whispered," Nobody will like my presence there."

" I like your presence," Neela replied.

Suddenly, two male voices said in unison," We too, Dad."

Looking forward VR's eyes widened seeing Roman & Rion. He wasn't expecting them here. Specifically, the word 'Dad' was unexpected from them.

" Let's celebrate," Roman & Rion said holding VR's arms and stood him up.

Seeing VR's astonishing eyes on them Roman said," Mumma told us about you. We know that you are our biological father."

Rion said further," Maybe we can't love you like our Daddy but we respect you."

VR was speechless after hearing them. He felt tears clouding his vision. He thought Orni will never let him meet his sons but after hearing them he felt one thing that she forgave him.

It was Orni who told the boys to cheer up VR. She felt that he has rights on Roman & Rion equally. They are his biological children. Moreover, she felt that he deserve to live the last few days with Roman & Rion. She knew that he might be a bad guy to her but he never hurt the kids. So, at least he deserves to be with the kids.

" Would you guys hug me once, please?" VR requested them and then the kids hugged him including Neela.

Breaking the hug Neela wiped away VR's tears. Roman & Rion felt weird by VR's close proximity. They don't remember anything about him but still, they can feel the emotions in them for VR.

" Let's light a diya together, Dad," Rion said and then they lit a diya together.

VR talked to them and asked them about their life and soon they become comfortable with him. VR loved how they start silly fighting with each other. He loved how Roman & Rion tease Neela. How much he crave to see these kids like that? How much he craved to hear their voice. The word Dad from their mouth. He couldn't believe he is sitting among them and talking to them. He felt like he was living in a dream.

" Mumma said you have a disease. What happened to you?" Roman asked curiously.

VR remained silent when Neela requested holding his hands," Daddy, whatever happened to you. I want you to be strong."

A few days ago he felt like leaving this world as soon as possible. He lost all hope to live. But, after seeing the kids and talking to them he developed a sudden desire to live. He wants to spend time with them, hear them and be a part of their funny arguments. No, he doesn't want to die anymore. He wants to live.

" I will be stronger. I promise," VR promised them and decided to do the surgery.

On the other hand, Orni was searching Rudraksh in the whole house. Finally, she found him in the backyards. He was smoking there. Orni frowned her brows seeing him smoking because he hardly smokes. He smokes whenever he feels uneasy or something bothers him.

Rudraksh threw away the cigarette sensing someone's presence behind him. He turned around and found that it was Orni. He didn't smile at her like other times.

" I can clearly see that you are angry. Why?" She asked.

He wanted to yell but thinking about her parents he lowered his voice," You are asking me this!! You literally marched my kids to that vile man and you still want me to keep quiet!! And, what's wrong with you? You are pitying him!"

Saying all these he turned his face in another direction. Orni heard him silently. She just smiled a little and hugged him from behind.

" Someone is jealous," Orni asked playfully.

Rudraksh answered moving away from her," Nah...... I. .....umm......what? There....is.....nothing....like....that."

" You think I don't know when you lie. You always shutter whenever you try to lie," Orni said turning him towards her.

After a lot of flattering words and kisses finally Orni managed to convince Rudraksh about VR's presence. Rudraksh trusts Orni that whatever she has done, she did it after thinking properly.

" Your sons love you a lot," Orni said and in response, Rudraksh hummed.

Both of them were standing close to each other joining their forehead and closing their eyes. Whenever they argue or some tension erupts between them they always do it to calm themselves down.

" You know that I love you a lot," Orni whispered.

Rudraksh answered," I never doubted it."

" Rudraksh, thanks for coming into my life and making me feel alive again. In the next seven birth, I only want you as my husband. Only you," Orni finished saying pulling him into a deep passionate kiss.

VR saw Orni kissing Rudraksh. This time he didn't show the pain on his face anymore. He just turned his face around to the kids who were laughing with each other.

" You deserve all the happiness, Angel. You were my innocent angel and you will remain my angel forever even though you chose someone else," VR thought mentally and closed his eyes to control the tears.
